With the players we’ve currently got in central midfield I can’t see 4-4-2 working. Teams will run through us if it’s just the two of either Clunan/Shrimpton/Beestin!
Seems we hit the post button seconds apart.

Oh yeah, completely forgot he signed an extension at the start of the season under Hilton! Ignore me, carry on…

If you believe Butterfield’s wife (and there’s no reason not to), it was stated he was offered slightly over minimum wage. That’s £20,820 a year. Let’s be generous and say he was offered £30k a year, a 65% reduction would have meant he was on roughly £86k a year. We signed him in the NL, where the average salary is (according to a quick Google) between £1 – £1.5k a week. So he was on £1.65k a week, a little over the average wage for a NL footballer.
That doesn’t scream paying way over the odds to me, especially for a player of his quality…he was signed under Swann long after the purse strings were tightly sealed.

Haha yep…back to back relegations, HMRC winding up orders, staff not being paid, losing the academy, almost losing the stadium, players hours away from going on strike, CCJs all over the place…but it’s losing two players who deserve to be playing at a higher level that compels you to come out of the woodwork during this “torid” 24 hours!

And their highlight real features one solitary clip of him in a Scunthorpe shirt, delivering a cross into the box about about 3 years ago…which just about sums up his time here!
Barrows needs to sign a new contract first! No guarantee he’ll be here next season either.
“A good player in spells but had his troubles with injuries. All the best.”
Sounds right up our street!
Really hoping Foden keeps up his form for the Euros. He’s been incredible this season and a joy to watch.
Only ever saw him play left wing for us. Definitely need more wingers if all we’re left with is Roberts and Law, they’ll be crocked for half the season.
McCall – Sorted the defence out, got us winning games. One of the worst decisions we’ve ever made to sack him. YES
100%. Still in my eyes the largest contributor to the position we now find ourselves in. Swanny may have still pulled the plug if we remained in League 1 but the sacking of McCall definitely kick started our drastic slide down the divisions.

There’s very little chance we’d get a keeper better than Fitz in this division so I’m happy he’ll still be between the sticks.
Some of his distribution is the best I’ve ever seen (and that goes for all divisions!), but he definitely needs to stop thinking he’s Ederson and trying to dribble around players…my ticker can’t take that for another season.

DSF the only one I’m surprised and a little disappointed by, he put in some great performances towards the back end of the season and probably still has room for improvement.
Pugh definitely needs a fresh start, he just hasn’t performed in an Iron shirt.
On the Sunday after the Boston game I drowned my sorrows by watching the full season reviews for 08/09 and 09/10 on YouTube…some of the stuff played by Hayes and Hooper was different gravy, we could only dream of seeing that kind of football these days!

Regarding a share issue, I got a reply from Michelle saying that the process is being looked into at the solicitors and I’d receive more information once the final details have been ironed out. With how slow solicitors work we could be waiting a fair old while!

Agree Mick, the statement definitely came across as being more of a financial decision and a chance to lower wages with a new, cheaper management team.

Was always realistically going to be the case. I’m still on the fence as to whether I’m disappointed or not.
Fair enough, just thought I’d point out that he already gets a lot closer to the club than some blokes random boozer in Scotter.
Time to get old big hair back. Surely he’s up to this league. A mate of mine who lives in Scotter reckons he sees him at his local boozer from time to time.
He was at the Boston game.
Would we be able to attract managerial talent from “smaller” clubs in the National League? If so then Phil Parkinson has done an incredible job for Altrincham, taken them from the Northern Premier League to the National League playoffs playing exciting, attacking football.
Yep spot on Apollo, he took an almighty whack to the head with a wayward shot during shooting practice which immediately knocked him unconscious…he then fell backwards and cracked his head on the solid concrete floor.
Agree re it being different if it were limited seats at an away game…there’d be uproar!
You should be ecstatic after crying that they wouldn’t be on sale until Thursday.
I’m not a season ticket holder but just bought two tickets online. Fill your boots!
Bunch of chavs with main character syndrome. Going by what’s been posted on FB he’s been admitted to hospital in Bristol. Looked very nasty and can’t believe the paramedics walked him out without a stretcher. Wishing him a speedy recovery!

Embarrassed to be a Scunny fan today, there were some absolute bellends in the crowd…especially those who kicked off and started fighting between themselves because they didn’t like getting told to move out of the way for a poor chap who was literally unconscious on the floor, with blood everywhere, pretty much fighting for his life.
He dropped an absolute clanger in the NL playoff final last season…hopefully lightning doesn’t strike twice!
National League rules, not allowed to go on sale until opponent is known. Not that difficult to comprehend.

It’ll most definitely be party time if we win the playoffs, not sure there’ll be much of party at Gloucester though.
Regarding Jimmy, if we win the playoffs I think we have to give him a chance next season. He seems to have learned from some mistakes over the past couple of weeks and reverting to a plan B has actually worked (especially vs Southport). I’d be willing to give him a chance, he’s relatively inexperienced at this level and the one above so there’s definitely room for him to improve.
