We’re more likely to get Dave Spudgun from Bottom.
    I’m not optimistic…but what’s new?

The real problem is that Sarfend showed us that gorgeous, old-time fourth division football.
They were only interested in closing us down and giving us no room to move – which they did very well. They stopped the prospect of any footballing skills being able to be used. Their one mindset was to be destructive.
Sadly we did not seem capable of coping with a side whose tactics were that negative and so, whenever we won possession, out came the big hoof upfield.
I truly hope that they do not gain another point this season.
Let us have them out of the league! – Bye bye. Good riddance.
    Urgh. Nasty!

lesgeo—–I cannot agree my friend, you say that Southend stopped us playing football and hoofed the ball upfield throughout, that was exactly what we were doing ourselves, and if Southend are so good at stopping teams playing, why are they sitting at the bottom of the League???

The game was a terrible match, and in my opinion Southend put more effort into it than we did, the truth is that both teams are bloody crap.

Just look at the stats, Scunthorpe had ONE SHOT ON TARGET.
Scunthorpe had TWO CORNERS IN THE GAME.
sOUTHEND HAD two shots on target.
Southend had ONE CORNER THROUGHOUT THE MATCH.

So the combined total shots on target was THREE.
The total combined corners in the game was THREE.

Does that not tell its own storey, and Cox said before the game “THAT WE WILL ATTACK THEM”, maybe he was making reference to Clarks stupidity and not the football side of things, I am sorry to say, but if Cox stays next season, supporters will just stay away, we want entertaining , and to enjoy attending.

I can say for sure that if I had been at GP yesterday, I would have left by 70 mins at most, ptobably along with a few others.

    You’ve misread Les’s post, BS.
He said whenever WE gained possession out came the by if hoof upfield.
    Not Southend.
They just closed us down for the point they got.

Rather than touting your conspiracy theory (well BS’s originally-you and a few others have simply joined in like the sheep you profess not to be), I challenge you to name one poster of this mythical ‘6’ that doesn’t or hasn’t criticised the team, manager or club in recent years. Name one poster that bigs up ‘the whole debacle’.

I merely refer you to my “Fortress Glanny” thread a few days ago.

Lads, lads, you just cannot criticise the team, manager or club like you are doing.
The forum six will come on crying and acting like little girls.

You need to big the whole debacle, sorry, set up, up.

    Attacking football?
    What’s that?
We talk attacking football, but that’s usually as far as it goes.

Swann and Co. haven’t valued supporters for a long time.
Swann fell out with supporters even before he fell out with the council and the developers.
But hey…it’s not his fault, any of it😄

You’ve said our team is sulky and contains lazy lads yet can’t name more than one. I’m happy for you to give me the list?

Or are you just making false assumptions because you don’t like the chairman?

    Errrr, sorry.
I have actually named no names.
I have repeated one name given by someone else.
I’m not going to start naming names just to please you or anyone else.
The underperforming players know who they are, as do we.
I’m just surprised that some on here seem to think everything is hunky dory.
Or are they just saying the opposite of whatever I say?
    Wouldn’t surprise me… it’s the usual suspects.

Cox stated after Tuesdays pathetic game, that energy levels were down, why does he not come out with the truth and say that skill and effort levels were far less on show from a team that put in very little and a very poor work rate. And he could have come out with the truth, that it was his five changes from a winning team and his tactics that was the main fault.

    Apparently not BS

I’ve tried to make the same point on another thread, where the usual suspects have told me that all our players are giving 100% all the time with the exception of McAtee.
    Who knew?

    Ah, sorry lads.
    Must be mistaken.
I was under the impression we have players under-performing, a manager who seemingly doesn’t know either his best team or even best formation, were playing some of the most boring football ever seen at Glanny, regularly lose at home, having an appalling home record, regularly have few shots on target and are sitting in the bottom seven?
    Silly me.
I’m so glad the usual suspects have put me right,😅😅😅

    This is true.
But at least those teams gave 100% and weren’t utterly dull to watch.

Can we say the same of ANY team turned out since Alexander?

Yep, this season in terms of effort. Are you not watching the games?

“At least they gave 100%” is a laughable excuse. That is the bare minimum required from any footballer.

From what I’ve be seen this season we have our usual quota of sulkers, lazy lads, and malingerers.
    Are you denying that?

I misread the OP title, thought it said Fortress Fanny, presumed alcy was discussing his private residence. Just leg pull alcy, chill out.

    Leg pull?

    Sounds fishy.

As I see it, the boring, turgid football has been ongoing under several managers and with lots of different squad members.
It has certainly NOT just arrived either with Cox, or with the present lacklustre players.

No…you have to look further up and further in to find the source of the problem.

That’s what worries me. Changing manager has zero effect. New players in, old, fed up, players out…no effect.

Now I wonder what WOULD stop the rot?

If McAtee is not interested and unhappy it’s his job to motivate himself.

Seems odd to me that we have at least one such player at the club every season, and have done so since the Prawn arrived.

    I have two questions:
Is the Prawn anything to do with it?
    Who signs these childish people?

My biggest worry is the Prawn.
Went with youth and little experience, and it’s got us safe so far.
If we do lose some of the older heads, will he do the same again, and will it work for the second time with less experienced players available?

My bet is yes…and no…in that order.

In my job, you COULD walk out without working your notice, but only to go to an employer in a different line of work.
And you’d not get back into your original line of work again, that would have been a certainty.

IA and Ferrite: not trying to be bloody minded, but I have a thing about fairness.
If you sign a contract, you should fulfil it.
As far as not knowing what the lads contract with Donny said, fair enough, but it seems a far stretch of the imagination to believe that it said he could go to another club on any day he chose?

Unless, of course, I’m missing something and you two have an entirely different reason to support his apparent disloyalty?🙂

Don’t get your idea that clubs have all the power?

A contract is just that: it is supposed to tie both parties to terms so that both parties have some sort of stability.

In this case, this manager seems to have walked out on his club and straight into another.

Seems HE has all the power here?

    Nope.
I worked with a contract and could only leave after due notice.
My employer had to give me due notice to end my contract.
    That’s how contracts work, Ferrite.
It’s not feudal, it’s employment law, giving both employee and employer stability and protection.
So….I repeat, do football contracts not work?

Do contracts in football not really exist, or have any force?
How can someone just walk out of one contract into another, seemingly at will, yet no comebacks?
And why aren’t managers covered by transfer windows?

Not going to repeat the same discussions we’ve had on here and other environments about the relationship between fans and the club owners and how other club’s owners put ours to shame, I think the OP speaks for itself. Lincoln fans are lucky to have someone who gives a s*** about their value and appreciates their contribution and heritage.
    Look

    Fully agree.

Sadly, there are still blinkered folk out there who both see Swann as our saviour, AND persist in believing that no-one else would, or could, ever buy the club.

I was probably the first to push the Pawn thread off course, for which I WILL apologise: I shouldn’t have had another dig at Deerey, he really is too easy, witness his whining above at being singled out.

No…stop it…I really do apologise, the threads are very important and deserve our undivided attention.

What I find it hard to understand is that some folks’ dislike of my views on some subjects somehow prohibits some folk from ever admitting I was right and, by admission, he may have been….yes, wrong.

    Lol at Replica Pistol.
YOU were the one who had a mini tantrum at me because I pointed out that I’d told you all so from the start.

As for criticising Swann, look back and see who was the first and consistent critic.
No brown-nosing for me. He even tried to come on here for a showdown, answered one question with a lie, ducked the next and then the usual w*nkers ruined it, despite having been asked by SST not to do so.

Go on, check back who was the first…and then come on and apologise…oh…sorry, you lefties don’t do apologies cos you think you’re never wrong.
    Grow up Deerey.
You can admit YOU WERE WRONG sometimes.
And yes, it does mean ALCAZAR WAS RIGHT.
