That’s my understanding Sanfran because Hill is obviously looking at players on free transfers. We had 2 wingers supposedly playing in that lincolnshire cup game the other night.
I looked the other night and there’s some capable players without clubs. A fair few are kicking about.
The one thing I like is that the ethos at the club has changed with Swann seemingly stepping back and letting an actual manager do the job he’s supposed to do. That should have been done years ago but at last it’s sunk in.
These are Hill players..not a chance Swann has had a hand in choosing these because they all make sense and they’re players in the positions we actually need.
Far too late in the day but I think the penny has well and truly dropped with Swannster.

They could before the window even shut iron awe. KDT should have gone for starters but Swann for some reason didn’t pay his contract up.
I hope he’s not on a lot of money !
He certainly talks a good game and has a decent track record but his scattergun approach to selection & poor results so far are not very encouraging
Scattergun approach..are you surprised considering what he had to pick from ?
I’ve agreed with most of what he’s done. The only thing I disagreed with was Beestin and he wasn’t getting picked due to long covid and he hasn’t looked fit of late.
Apart from that he’s been good. Hill had to mix and match what he had in an attempt to get what he could out of them, which wasn’t a lot because most of them were utter garbage.
I’d play Nuttall from the start personally as he’s only going to get fit with minutes and if he can pinch a few whilst not fully fit, all will be good. we could always bring Pyke on after 60 minutes.
One thing about Pyke is that I keep reading is that he’s powerful, very quick, decent hold up play but can’t score for toffee. I hope that changes here !
16 matches mostly from the bench but has apparently played in their reserves regularly. I suspect he must be there match fit wise as he didn’t play a part last night.

Did they both look young, or did you not get a close enough look ?
Barton it’s ok fulfilling the quota of staff needed season to season but we go above and beyond in that department.
Taft has gone to shit. Delaney has to come in to partner Manny. I’d go Burns off Nuttall but going by comments from people who went last night, he supposedly looked way, way short of match fitness.
Understandable though considering how long it is since he’s had a run of games. I suspect he’ll probably get 60 mins like last night for Pyke to come on.
This is a problem I’ve had for years with the current structure at GP. Ever since Swann had the unrealistic aim of upgrading the youth category for our supposed entry into the championship we’ve carried a hell of a lot of staff.
I bet if you gave staff duel roles, we’d cut the staff down probably by 4 or 5 people.

This may be one of the wingers from last night. Contract is up come the end of the season.

17yr old. Project for the future ?
Has anybody else learned anything about this ‘loan turning into a grant ‘suggestion?’
Swann was on the radio the other week and said the embargo is is up in June, so that must mean the loan is not withstanding anymore. Now whether that means it is then classed as a grant and we don’t have to pay it back or he’ll have paid it back in June, I have absolutely no idea.
Anyway, regardless the loan and the embargo won’t be here next season. Swann mentioned it when he gave that interview when he said he wouldn’t pay the loan off.
Stop moaning all the time, put the Swannster hatred to one side and try and at least be a tad positive and back the club.
This is supposed to be your team remember !
I wonder if we may pay KDT up a bit further down the line and sign one of them ?

What an arse !
I didn’t feel the need to include the Gk, we only really have Watson in first team contention. I think that’s obvious.
If you didn’t assume Watson would have been the keeper then I worry for you.
Most have been signed on short contracts, so what’s the chance they’d stay to play non league footy?
There’s optimism, then there’s soft.
It puzzles me why you even post on this forum, it’s crystal clear you don’t even support to the club…all you ever do is moan.
If you truly supported the club, you’d put the Swann hatred to one side and back the players but you can’t or shall I say won’t even do that.
I can’t remember the last time I read anything positive from you.
You can’t sign a free transfer but you can sign out of contract players at any time.
lol When you sign an unattached player, aren’t they classed as free transfers ?
I think so. If we were to pay KDT contract up a bit further down the line, is there any chance for us to even sign a free transfer ?
What Hill says now may be very different to what he says at the end of the season.
It won’t be. Hill will still be here. Believe it Bob, it’s happening.
The triallists might also be free agents
The could very well be. 0-0 at the minute with Nuttall heavily involved going by the updates.
I think a huge part of that is because clueless pillocks behind the scenes were choosing players when they had absolutely no idea who or what we actually needed.
You can tell now that Hill has free reign to bring his own players in and I suspect even if we go down that the squad will be more than competitive. Hill is staying here as part of a long term project which is only good news.

I said 4/4/2 might be an option with the players we have now. I think O’malley is close because he only had a tight hamstring.
When he is fit it would be interesting because we could go
Matheson Onariase Delaney O’Malley
Feeney Beestin Grant Lewis
Burns NuttallUntil O’Malley is up to speed, the line up which cassidy suggested is about right
Matheson Onariase Delaney Lewis
Grant
Feeney Beestin Sinclair
Burns NuttallI know Hill does like a 4/4/2 with a big striker up front with umpteen crosses being slung in as he played like that religiously at Rochdale.
Lewis is a natural left winger so don’t rule out a 4/4/2. I can’t for the life of me think why people would favour Pugh over a fit Beestin.
Looking at what Hill said after 11pm – it is clear that he wanted Wood gone as he would not fit the new systems.
I don’t know what you’ve been reading or listening to but this is what Hill said about wood…
“It’s a shame really regarding Harry. That was one that we had to do and it was a case of balancing the squad of players I’ve got with the ones that I needed to bring in to make a difference. I’m trying to put a jigsaw together and unfortunately that excluded Harry. It’s a bit of a shame really because he is one I would like to have kept”
There were clearly players he wanted rid of before him but they wouldn’t budge.
Still got Big Bad Turan.
I wonder whether the fact he’s played for both us and Stockport that he’s not able to be registered with any body else ?
I didn’t even realise Hackney has served 3 games of his 6 already, he’s back for rochdale game. Jesus, that’s gone quick.
Hippo going and Turan staying….he’s hanging on for dear life bless him lol
By the way Pyke is definitely 6ft 2. Nuttall and Burns up front with Pyke as an option from the bench ?. I wonder now we have sinclair and Feeney who are wingers and have 2 good strikers with pyke as backup, would he go 4/4/2 and get crosses whipped in ?
Young Harry Lewis is a natural left winger, so when O’Malley is back he could play a part out wide.
I just saw that, 82 games and scored 6 goals. Last two seasons he’s played 30 games and scored just the 1 goal.
Good luck Keith.
Who the feck is Rekiel Pyke ?
82 games played and scored 6 goals. Good luck Keith lol
Feeney is a winger. Perry is not what we need and hackney is out for another 5 games isn’t he ?
Hippolyte and Wood leaving I think leaves us short now. Hackney is out for another 5 games. All the while Hallam and KDT are still here who happen to play no role whatsoever.
According to twiiter now Wood and Hippo have gone, Delaney and Nuttall will come in but the other striker who’s due to come in, who’s a big striker and who’s supposed to be the most impressive signing will only come in if we get yet another player out of the door.
All the while all Swann has to do is pay KDT’s contract up to get him out to get the space freed up.
The mind boggles.
