Whether he realises it or not is irrelevant if he’s not allowed to do anything about it anyway.
I know you’re right and Hill’s hamstrung in terms of what he can go for. I’m just frustrated about the current situation we find ourselves in !
The young kid from Rochdale, RB has gone as well. Short of players and we’ll be content with getting a few trialists in during the next week .
Does Hill not realise new players will need to bed in to fully contribute ?
I think he’s more of a left winger though and if Nthle is ever used to fill in at CB we may need a player like him. Hill seems to like him according to the post match interview.
Peplow came off injured today due to rolling his ankle so hopefully he’s alright in not too distant future.
Absolute work horse but not sure what people really saw in him. Technically he was sub par, decision making was dodgy at times and as mentioned above, his passing was poor.
I’d take Gallimore over him for sure. Cribb has a lot more about him and Moore-Billam has a little bit of everything including decent physicality like Gallimore.
Whitehouse is impressing on trial as well. Pugh is ok if he’s used strictly as a break up player who keeps it very simple, any thing other than that and he’ll struggle.
Pugh has fantastic energy but for the reasons above, I wouldn’t class him as a box to box midfielder as he’s too limited.

Gutsy but can’t pass for toffee. Is he any better than young Gallimore ?

Sam peplow is a LB/LW so appears to be a versatile player which we’re going to need this coming season. Peplow did fairly well when he came on.
Anybody know if Ledger, Rochdale young RB or that GK are still around ?
Didn’t one of our Codling friends on here suggest McKeown was a good shot stopper but didn’t command his box or come for corners. If so have we not had our fill of that type of keeper in recent times?
Sounds like a modern day Tommy Evans. That bloke used to give you at least 2 minor heart attacks per game. Every time a good corner got whipped in and players were competing I had to the need to throw a hail Mary and cross my fingers.
If he’s anything like him, I’m not sure my heart would take it.
Sounds like Swann will be asking for good money to relinquish his chairman role. What a piss take !
Swann bought this club for £1 remember, yes he cleared debts but look how much he’s put us in.
In my opinion he should do the right thing and piss off. The club clearly can’t mean that much to him because if it did he’d move it on to anybody who’s half decent and get gone.
What makes me laugh is the fact that Swann wants potential owners to fulfil certain criteria’s and yet look at all the shite he’s done.
Swann will now run the rule over interested parties and see if he deems them fit and worthy lol
What a joke !
We definitely picked a winner in Swann.

How many players of those are youth players ?
That’s the point. uptheiron, you’re counting players who are undercooked/inexperienced in with the whole squad number which in it’s self is absolutely ridiculous.
We’re 8 0r 9 players short of a balanced squad, if you fill in the other 4/5 gaps with current youth players we truly are fecked.
What do you think would happen if the experienced players pick up injuries and were left with a glorified youth team playing in this uncompromising league ?
If we only sign 4 players it will be nowhere near good enough. 1 of those 4 will be a rookie GK and Hallam who’s one of the experienced ones currently on the books is injured for the most part.
You can’t just simply fill slots with people who have little to no experience and count them as viable back ups.
Only you uptheiron, only you !

“Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.”
That’s all well and good but you still need a large enough to compete in that league, it’s unforgiving. No way simple hard work can make up for a lack of players.

Looks liker we’re in for him, scored 4 in 40 last season. Alabi must have been the shite striker mentioned the other week that we were interested in.
If he does come in, we have 2 target men. All we need now are two goal scorers on a shoe string budget.
Good luck Keith.
You’re going to need it !
We’re 9 signings away from a balanced squad and we’ve been training now for 4/5 days.
Absolutely ridiculous.
I thought this season couldn’t possibly be as badly managed as last season but I’m beginning to think otherwise.

Aaron Jarvis was on £1,500 a week ? lol
Hallam needs binning off. Sick to death of carry the perpetual sick note. Swann needs a kick up the arse for signing him up for another 2 years.
That’s right up there with all the rest of the moronic things he’s done.

I also suspect we may sign players come 1st of July because even though we can sign players on pre contract agreements you also have to pay a small wedge to agents, whereas if we sign them completely unattached then we may dodge most if not all of agent fees.
Only downside to that is we may end up signing the dregs once again but I don’t think that will be the case because there will be a hell of a lot of players available for free.
All depends if Hill is identifying the players or baby Swann is. I did read not long back that Hill said it was down to him and a few others who comes in and didn’t sound like baby Swann is at the forefront but he’s still in a job so he must have some input somewhere along the line.
Jai Rowe RB?
We can’t go into a season with one RB for crying out loud. Ok, Rowe goes there but we need back up Steve..it’s the same at LB. O’malley is more than capable but again we need back up there.
O Malley with Lewis as back up. No real problem.
Lewis really is a left winger or at times an attacking left wing back. Lewis isn’t really a LB. That’s why I said we only needed 1 left winger to go with him and a back up LB.
Hill must see him as a winger, hence why we’ve got Bunney and Nthle in on trial.
Sharp shooter, Wilson and and Feeney will be ok for RW.
Admit we need a new CB, LB, RB, GK, LW, experienced CM and 3 strikers.
Let’s face it, we’re well short.

According to twitter were after a striker who’s been plying his trade in national league and has scored a mind blowing 13 goals in 7, yes SEVEN season’s at that level.
I don’t do Twitter WG, only the SUFC one on the off chance there’s something on there that’s not restaurant or season ticket based. Where should I be looking for the more interesting stuff that you find?
I simply typed in Owen Mason and started reading the fellow fan responses. The striker post popped up within people moaning at us seemingly chasing a teenage GK.

I hope permacrocck Hallam follows, talented player on his day. A big pity he only has 3 or 4 a season. I hope Hill has players lined up, as it stands were virtually a fully fledged youth team squad.

My fault for not paying attention.

The striker in question, whoever he is has been described as “shite”
I think it’s fair to say that we should all be expecting a relegation battle next season. I can’t see anything else. We currently have very little experienced players in the squad and one of them is Hallam who’s never fit.
Nuttall and O’neil upfront as it stands. Oh and now no Miller, we have one RB in Rowe who will have to cover in at CB at times because we only have 3 of those on the books.
God above.

I’m not prepared to accept that a really good manager like Hill can just lose all his abilities. It is illogical.
You should have seen what Tranmere fans said about him. Playing players out of position for no real reason and tactically inept was just two. We all saw evidence of this last season. I must admit that some of his decision making was completely bonkers and made little to no sense.
Tranmere fans actually cheered when he went. I remember one of their fans laughing when we signed Hill on twitter and went on to explain people were getting pissed off with Hill playing one of their LB’s in CM and a RB at CB when they had no previous experience in even playing in those positions.
The fan in question said it was only when he went and they got in a manager who actually played the players where they were supposed to be played that they started to progress.
Keith Hill did well at Rochdale signing bargain bin basement players fuelled with the “everybody are against us” siege mentality. Hill always has played ultra simplistic, direct football. I’ve never seen a silky Keith Hill side.
Another thing which was said by the same fan was that he over emphasis work rate and “passion” over every thing else. That was also apparent last season.
I was the first person to credit the club in signing Keith Hill but I was another who was suckered in by his Rochdale days but when you look beyond that he’s dubious to say the least. I quickly began to realise that the Tranmere fan knew what the crack was.
Do I think he’s the one for us ?. No I don’t !
Hill will stay though while ever Swann is hanging around like a bad smell. I want both the Swann clan and Hill throwing out.

I think Nuttall was only here on a 1yr contract. I could be wrong though though.
I’d rather get rid of try young Harrison Poulter for now and see how he does. Nuttall can piss of for me, we don’t need his ilk here.
Apart from that he’s complete shite. Wins very little in the air, his work rate off the ball is poor, he’s blinkered when it comes to passing to his team mates and his finishing is laughable.
I had his back early on as he’s not had many games but he’s had enough now to have got most of that back and he’s still been complete crap.
Not for me.
I said at the time loaning Wilson out was stupid. Shone in pre season and was knocking goals in the reserves. One game he played upfront and absolutely extracted the urine in which he scored 2 screamers and looked head and shoulders above everybody else and then was loaned out.
I still don’t understand that one !
I didn’t hear any racist abuse and neither did other people who were there. As said above, the abuse started after he middle fingered us. I also was told he offered out a group of 4 or 5 young uns “teens to late teens” for a scrap in the car park.
How people justify that carry on is beyond me !. I admit he received some stick for messing up another chance and being shite in the air again but it was nothing too over the top.
The way he reacted was absolutely disgraceful.
On a more positive note the kids did really well. The young keeper looked really assured and Wilson played really well.
This season has been an absolute disaster but there are some really good kids here. If we can add 5/6 or 7 old heads to blend it all together, we might be all right.
Some really talented players in the group.

Andy Parton from years ago, clean through on goal, gk had even lost his balance and all he had to do was kick it straight and somehow missed an open goal going for the corner.
Utter shite.
I’ve heard swann’s asking price is a stumbling block. There are a few interested parties.
Hardly surprising. Swann will want most of the money back he pissed down the drain. I hope he comes to his senses and moves the club on, it’s the least he could do !

Any takeover news ?
Hill does appear to rate work rate and attitude above actual ability, which is a tad worrying. I don’t want Matheson anywhere near either…he makes Millen look like Cafu
