After seeing the responses from the pair of them “Hardy and Elliot” I don’t think they’d work together, it’s gotten a bit prickly already. Hardy has said in so many words that Elliot’s a cheapskate.
Going by the reply from Elliot, I don’t think it went down too well.
As said above, I wonder if we could get a GK in on an emergency loan ?
Exactly! Your premise is a big assumption
The set price is on twitter, is it not ?
The assumption comes from going back and forth between Sharpe and co and nothing getting sorted, it’s ok coming at it from all different angles but if they’re struggling to find the funds, there’s no point in them going any further with it.
You see what Alan Hardy wrote on twitter ?
saleiron
I am still not clear about your motivation?Alan Hardy
All true football fans, even arch rivals, don’t want to see great football clubs go under. I saved Notts who were within 60 minutes of a High Court Winding Up Order. So if no one else wants to put their hand up then I’ll try help SUFC become a force they were only 8 years ago!saleiron
But others have put their hands up.Alan Hardy
But not at the level acceptable to the Owner. We don’t take a basket of shopping to the checkout at Asda and offer them half the amount. If you don’t want to pay the money then don’t go shopping.Interesting !
Let’s face it Deerey, if Sharpe and Co had the funds needed it would have already been tied up. According to what I’ve read on Twitter Swann want’s 3.5mil for the ground & surrounding land with the listing price being 5.5mil. From what I can gather that amount is what Swann’s wanted from the very start.
I’d much rather have Sharpe and Elliot but as I said above, if they haven’t got the funds needed then I can’t see where they go with it. Surely if they offered Swann what he wanted from the outset, wouldn’t they be the owners already.
I just don’t think they have it !
Alan Hardy comes with a bit of a dodgy past but let’s face it, we need it bought and quick or we’ll be fecked. It appears it’s hardy or bust for us. Not exactly a good position to be in but it is what it is.
Needs must !
Not a cat in hells chance. Why would he stay here with the uncertainty of being paid hanging over his head ?. You have to factor in the form he’s in as well. I can’t see him staying around.
Would you if you was him ?
Look, I’m working on the premise that Sharpe and co just haven’t got the funds needed, which looks to be the case. Do you really think if they had enough money that it would have taken as long as it has done ?
In a sense of course it’s holding it up, if they keep getting in touch with Swannsters advisor from begbies to sort something out, more than likely upping their bids in small increments, their attention can’t be spread across both parties at the same time. One of them has to be be on hold while the other is sorting something out.
I know that’s the case for many clubs throughout the country who have multiple suitors but do you really see Sharpe and co even having the required money to buy the club ?
I can understand their trying to strike the best deal possible but Swann wants a set amount and if they haven’t got it, I’d rather they made room for the other consortium.
I will however say that from what I’ve read, not really wanting it to go to them but we may not have a choice. If the HMRC don’t get their tax then we we don’t have a club anymore.

Nobody is telling Sharpe and co how to spend their money. I’m merely saying if they haven’t really go the money to see it through then I’d rather they back out and quicken up other people who want it “even if they’re somewhat dodgy”
If they would have had the money then it would have been sealed by now. Keep going backwards and forwards with slight increased isn’t going to cut it, either they have the money or they don’t and if they don’t then simply back away and let somebody else press forward who have an actual chance of acquiring it.
I’m not wanting them to bankrupt themselves or pay the money needed and then not have money to keep the club running, I’d rather they give it once last shot and if this doesn’t work then back away. All they’re doing is holding it up for the questionable todger flasher to acquire it.
I do hope Sharpe and co get it though obviously but how long has this dragged on for now ?
I can’t believe I’m saying this but if that’s true then Sharp and Co need to pull their fingers out because that price is fair. They should either stump the money up or walk away and stop wasting peoples time.
If they haven’t got the funds then fine but I wish they wouldn’t hang around if they don’t have a real chance of even being able to afford to do it.

A loss as we’re now down on numbers but he was shite, let’s be honest. I juts hope Foster stays fit.
No further along then ?. Swann is going to stall until this months wages can’t be paid and the club get’s wrapped up and he’ll come out and start spouting he did everything to sell the club blah, blah blah.
If Swann really wanted to sell the club, he would have done before now.
On saturday Simon Elliott in interview with Ollie Turner of Humberside said they would put a new offer in on Monday. So I assume that is what has just been turned down.
Spot on. As I mentioned, this will be the fresh offer put forward by the scunny consortium which has been rejected already. The new offer had taken them a while to put together too.
You can tell they’re a mile away from what Swann wants. I don’t believe they will ever have the funds needed. Only way is if they get fresh consortium members who can add to the pot but it’s too late in the day for that now, we need taking over sharpish before HMRC finally swoops in.
Swann will let this club go under, just as I said and then He’ll still have the land and the assets to sell on. I see the offer, presumably by the Scunthorpe based consortium has been turned down already. The offer was only put it on Monday morning.
The way Swann’s playing hardball I’m not convinced he’s ever going to sell the club.

The more I read about him the more he appears to be a near clone of Swann. I hope to god we don’t go down that route, he’s a con artist from what I can gather.
This guy is a another Swannster type. Promised one manager 400k for him to spend, few months later he voluntarily left Port Vale and they ended up signing a youngster on loan and a player from Leek Town for peanuts, he’s another that talks out of his back end.
Daniel was woeful at Chesterfield but he’s been out injured for a while and may just have been rusty in that first game back. Hallam not featuring since his run out vs Cods is what’s held him back, he picks up a bad injury, get’s fit and has a game back to ease himself back in but his body is that fragile he either picks up the same injury as he had before or picks up a muscle strain.
I know it’s not his fault that he’s injured all the time but the hell did Swannster give him yet another 2 years ?
Hill was playing him upfront. I feared the worst when Nelson took the reigns but he’s impressing me. I think Nelson’s half decent and has got us playing some decent stuff.
Wilson looks like the player we knew that’s been there all along. Shrimpton has been terrific and young Foster between the sticks looks more than a bit promising. The more experienced players at pulling their fingers out now for Nelson as Butterfield looks impressive and dare I say it, even Taft and Boyce looked relatively solid.
Have we stumbled upon a half decent manager ?

“but he managed to protect himself all his life by getting influential and prolific people to vouch for his character and cover up”
Does Charles fall into this bracket by inviting him around buckingham palace on numerous occasions or did he unbelievably not have a clue about who he was and what he was doing ?
Do you not realise that people who have that kind of access are looked into first by the bloody security services, go do your own research. They will not allow anybody access like that without being thoroughly vetted first.
You have to take into consideration that the visits came way after he was outed on national tv. I find it very hard to believe that somebody like Johnny Rotten would know, among many others who knew what he was up to and yet the intelligence services who looks into anybody before they’re allowed access, failed to find out what he was up to despite the numerous rumours and Johnny Rotten who outed him in 1978 live on BBC ?…..”who later banned him”
Harry is best keeping them at arms length.
The understanding I have is that Swann has employed them to get the very best deal for himself. I’m not convinced the safeguarding of the club even comes into it.
I envisage this dragging on. There will be no money in the near future to pay wages and Begbies will swoop in and wrap the club up. Call me a cynic but the sale doesn’t seem to be moving anywhere.
They want to look at Prince Charles who was sleeping with Camilla at the time he was married. Charles also had Jimmy Saville visiting on numerous occasions and had him acting as a mediator between him and Diana.
Princess Diana hated Saville and said he was creepy in one of the books. We all know what Saville used to get up to !
Johnny Rotten said years ago exactly who he was and what he was up to in an interview on the BBC in the late 70’s and a result BBC banned him. I find it hard to believe that Charles didn’t know what he was up to as people who get that kind of access are vetted closely by the authorities.
You have ask yourself for what other purposes Charles had such a close relationship with Saville. Throw Prince Andrew into the mix. The royal family are questionable to say the least.
I’d much rather take Harry and his supposed “sniffing” incident.
I remember fans giving Swann constructive criticism and asked for years to get a fan representative on the board and all he used to was ” Until you put as much money as me in, then you’ll get a say ”
That’s the wonderful attitude we’ve all endured since he’s been at the club.
Fast forward 3/4 years and he installs Neil in a time like this and then essentially gags him via NDA’S.
What a wonderful chairman he’s turned out to be !
Latest from Ollie Turner
@olivercturner
I’m told that Peter Swann has recently met a party interested in buying @SUFCOfficial, while a number of other consortia have also been in contact with @Begbies.
The corporate restructuring specialist is still awaiting offers and proof of funding from those groups. #Iron #UTILet’s face it, he can’t be worse than Dewhurst. I know he’s a young kid on loan but he’s been dreadful for the most part.
Who said it was right for Wright to receive abuse ?. I’m not excusing it but to sit there blinkered and not accept the fact that people were annoyed after coming to terms with losing their club and having to contend with the fans representative not saying a word, really pissed certain people off.
Was it right ?. No it wasn’t, far from it !
If people actually knew the reason why he was so tight lipped, fans would have understood his position, would have backed off him for the most part and the bulk of the crap would have gone in Swannsters direction.
Fans didn’t know this though, did they ?
Aim it Swanns direction. To appoint a lifelong fan to such a position in times such as these and to essentially gag him is an absolute disgrace.
That’s the definition of putting somebody in an impossible position. This is the last I’m going to type about this as it’s the Swannster who’s to blame.
Why should we bicker between ourselves due to one completely useless owner who’s just about ran the club into the floor ?
1 user thanked author for this post.
Did fans know at the time that his hands, lips and everything else were tied due to Non Disclosure Agreements ?. Nobody has said he deserved the abuse, I’m merely pointing out that you should direct your disappointment Swann’s way.
Who’s to blame, disgruntled fans or Swann and co who hung him out to dry by appointing him in a position to communicate to the fans to then duct tape his mouth together with NDA’s ?

Get over yourselves. I know it wasn’t Neil’s fault as his hands “and lips were tied” but he wasn’t doing the job he was elected for so he’s resigned. I agree with his decision.
There’s no point in even having one while Swann is here. Instead of slagging people off who have given Mr Wright a hard time you should condemn Swann for putting him in that position.
The club hung him out to dry. I’m not surprised people are frustrated with the current state of the club, it’s just unfortunate for Neil that he was put directly into the firing line with his mouth taped up via NDA’s.
Awaywego and fans 64 should be airing their disappointed at Swann and Co for doing the dirty on him. They’re the real one’s to blame.

Looking to sell the club in 2018 ?
It appears Swann’s gambling addiction has tanked the club. That’s what it looks like anyway. The funding from Swann started getting pulled in 2018 so that coincides with the money he owed Apollo Bookmakers.
What a shit show !

No idea. Not seen anything of him for ages, he’s done a Lord Lucan.
Wilson is getting the chance he should have gotten a long time ago. No way it should have taken this long for him to get a run in the side, who else really has more promise and ability then he had ?
Apter hasn’t shown anything in ages and Feeney is past it, despite getting plenty of game time. Shrimpton has been brilliant as well. Only problem is if we go under all the players will be released.
Slocombe used to get absolutely hammered on here. Watson was shite but was better than Dewhurst and Slocombe was miles better than Watson. Dewhurst is awful. A teenage Foster even looks way more promising than Dewhurst.
Not exactly starring in lower leagues are they? Just over an hour between the four of them!!
Further indication of why we’re struggling. The only one who did anything positive on loan was Shrimpton and he’s obviously back here.
I think it is so poor that the club and also the National league are refusing to comment and be transparent with supporters.
I honestly had no idea about this new embargo. That no doubt solidifies the comment above. I haven’t listened to the podcasts or to any post match interviews in a quite a while. I can’t bring myself to do so with the current state of the club the way it is.
Bit strange as I haven’t read anything about it in any news feeds I’ve seen pop up.
Unbelievable carry on !
Bit out the loop. We cleared the last embargo, didn’t we ?.
New one the club is under is because the stuff about Swannsters gambling ?
