Hilton bought the lot didn’t he, ground, stadium and surrounding land ?

    That’s what he claims anyway.

Turnbull needs to apologize for the crap he came out with. Neil Wright can piss off though for my liking, as said above he had nothing to say instead of suggesting fans should be charged due to invading the pitch. Now a new chairman is in he’s singing like a canary, he needs kicking straight into touch.

How the hell can he represent the fans ?. I mean come on, he must be living in an alternate reality. Part of this new start is clearing crap out and he’d be the next one to go for me.

Will be interesting to see how our coaching staff fare under the new ownership.

I read on twitter that Hilton is an absolute workhorse and expects all the staff to work all hours as he will to turn the club around, he was the same at Ilkeston.

I wonder if he cuts the staff size down ?

I know that part of his game will develop over time but I’m talking about the here and now. Against a much more accurate crosser and better strikers we will pay for Foster being routed to his line before long.

I still think we need experience in that position for now in a bid to push us to safety.

2 strikers, 1 CB and another GK and we could give this a real go. Foster is a good shot stopped but his lack of coming off the line will bite us in the arse before long. I know he’s young but we could do with some experience in there.

Ogle was excellent as was Whitehouse and Wilson. Foster played well too, albeit at times looked shaky. I know he’s young but he looks like a reincarnation of Tommy Evans with the reluctance to come off the line.

No, it’s for the lot. Expected to be completed today according to Ollie Turner. Hilton has somebody else on board, the same bloke he had at his last club.

I think it’s more likely that Hilton saw Alan Hardy was linked. Hilton saw the picture of Hardy’s todger and subsequently saved us from big and little Al lol

Not sure about that, best off asking SST. Hilton was down at GP Monday moving the deal forward as he met with Swannster.

These are twitter posts from Alan Hardy regarding the take over…

    Alan Hardy

Sadly, I am led to believe that an alternative bidder has been selected to move forward with the purchase of Scunthorpe Utd FC. I therefore wish the chosen party great success and send my best wishes to all the fans of this great club. I sincerely hope happy times soon return

    Alan Hardy

Personally gutted; had a great team, great plan and great Manager all lined up. A massive thank you to all the Scunthorpe Utd supporters who welcomed my involvement. If nothing else, it brought this new interest to the table and saving this Club is the only thing that matters

    It must be close !

There’s no way he would have left there if he hadn’t all but sealed the deal for the club. According to some this could be done and announced before tomorrow’s game or the day after, it’s supposed to be near enough done.

Hilton was down at the club yesterday as well.

So you know what Swann wants and what they bid?

The amounts were on twitter. I can’t remember who leaked them. Sharpe and co offered 1.25m for the club, stadium and training ground but that wasn’t for the surrounding land. Swann wanted 3.5m for the lot.

SST would have seen it on twitter. I’ll have a look to see if I can find it. Not sure why it matters because they aren’t even in the running any more.

Elliot on the radio alluded to the fact they could have paid the asking price but would then not have the funds to keep the club running smoothly, which is understandable. No way in a million years they had the 3.5mil, plus would have had the money to pay the bills owed and pay player and staff wages.

Everything factored in you’re looking at what, around 5mill ?. The loan needs paying he got against the ground, plus the tax bill and then operating costs, wages e.t.c. Pretty costly !

Deerey, You know, as well as I do they also need the money Swann is looking for or they won’t be buying it either.

Now, please just shut up. You’re a pain in the arse.

At least wonder goals and jobby will be happy now that the local consortium has stood aside and made way for people with the funds to buy the club. Shouldn’t be any problems now should there?

Deerey, what the hell are you going on about now ?. I said the other day I would have wanted Sharpe and Co to own the club but Swann wants what he wants for it, rightly or wrongly and they simply couldn’t afford it.

I was just being a realist and you just chose to be blind to it all. Stevie wonder would have even seen where the local consortium pursuit for the club was going to end up.

Swann wants 3.5mill and they were offering 1.25 million just for the club and stadium….what did you expect was going to happen ?

Nobody has said they were dodgy, it just comes down to them simply not having the funds needed, which when your looking to purchase a club is quite important.

One thing I have issue with is them coming out saying they were 95% close to buying the club, even though no formal bid was even put in. They even admitted themselves that Swann from the outset didn’t give them a concrete fee so I have no idea how they thought they were on the verge of buying the club.

I admire their tenacity but I don’t admire that.

If Swann doesn’t accept the final Hardy bid the season will be over because this month’s wages won’t be paid.

Elliot and Sharpe never really had the money required in accordance to what Swann wanted. Last chance now with Hardy with him placing the final bid so let’s see what happens.

Since Swann’s been here we’ve always carried a huge roster of staff. That fact had been brought up on here many times by various posters. Many lower league clubs are more prudent who have a set number of staff who simply do more than one particular job.

At GP we’ve always had people appointed in every single little job. I remember at one time when Swannster had staff in when he was hell bent on getting that upper tier youth grading, we had an absolute shit load of staff appointed.

Knowing Turnbull’s tone, if there was to be another pitch invasion he’d probably have riot cops already waiting with batons and tear gas !

I’ve searched most other social media sources and I indeed saw what looked like the start of the pitch invasion and didn’t see any punches thrown. I’ve also seen what other people have wrote and they said they didn’t see one being thrown either, so not sure what fans64 had seen.

If the plan was to divide the opposition to the owner then it seems to be working.

Divided or not, everybody still hates Swannster !

I thought Turnbull’s statement was even worse, he suggested getting the police involved to go after the pitch invaders. Is that man for real ?

Turnbull’s a sell out and should be fecked right off if we’re bought, he should be nowhere near the club. In my opinion he’s no more than a Swannster lackey.

If I had my way I’d fire him from a cannon far, far away from the ground. Turnbull’s been the biggest disappointment, he’s an absolute the disgrace.

The trust is shite as well, all needs ripping up and starting again.

Whatever people say about the 3.5mill Swann wants, the fact is he wants that amount and that’s that. Whether people think the 3.5mill is fair or not doesn’t matter, he wants what he wants for it.

What’s your source for what they can afford?

Swann wants 3.5mill for the club, stadium e.t.c. Elliot gave an interview the other night stating he could pay what Swann wanted but then would need to factor in the running of the club.

If they comfortably had the money needed then it would have been bought before now.

Listen to the interview if you haven’t already.

From what I gather Sharpe and co could pay the 3.5 million for the club but then there wouldn’t be enough money to pay tax bill off and other things e.g player and staff wages. I think that’s around their budget for the club and running costs to see us through the season and I’m sorry but that’s not enough money.

Swann wants 3.5 mill for the training ground, stadium and so on and he’s not budging.

Elliot stated he could pay it but needs to factor in running costs as well. Elliot followed with the Ferrari analogy and needing petrol to run it.

If Swann knocks some off it they may have a shot but I can’t see it.

Make of this what you will. A post by Alan Hardy post match on twitter

Woking are decent. Was always going to be a tough afternoon. They aren’t one of teams that we need to take points against. We go again.

“They aren’t one of the teams that WE need to take points against”

Is he full of shite and posturing or is he close to a deal ?

I think there’s more of a chance they’ll have the money to buy it than Sharpe and Co will as they saved Notts County from a winding up order to buy them before they bit the dust.

I know it all went to shit thereafter but least him and the consortium had the funds to buy them in the first place !

Not downhearted by the effort, just wish Swann would fuck off so we can start rebuilding our club

Swann won’t piss off until somebody has coughed up the required money. I just hope the Alan “The sausage flasher” Hardy and his consortium have the money.

I can’t see Elliot, Sharpe and Co having it.
