York thought that would hurt us taking Watson, but ended up making us stronger. They can have Chadwick back too if they want as he’s poorer than what we’ve got.

I would like Fadera back on loan even if he was a bit raw, but going by York’s stance I think that’s a no, no. Not involved there and he’s out of contract end of this season.

Would you take him as an option off the bench ?

You’ll be crucifying him within weeks if he doesn’t live up to your high expectations.

Shown already that he’s way ahead of Watson. No doubt he may make the odd mistake, but he won’t be as error prone as Mr Watson I’m sure.

I’m worried that Butler has only signed him for a month due to him waiting for Campbell to be fit. Butler worryingly stated that Campbell will be back in a month’s time.

If Butler only signs Mahady as a replacement for a keeper that clearly isn’t ready, I won’t be too happy. That’s my big worry. Fingers crossed he either signs him until Jan and signs a perm keeper longer term or signs Mahady on a season long loan I’ll be happy.

No way Butler hangs his hat on Campbell. I bloody hope not anyway.

They essentially moved the goal posts and instead of wanting a small portion of his wages, demanded his full wage attempting to be arse holes.

Mahady wage will be covered by Leeds so we’ve ended up with a better keeper who’s basically playing for free on a Leeds youth loan.

Why should we pay their 3rd keepers full wage ?. Butler was right to them to piss off.

Look at the value we have now.

Horton at CB has been nothing short of a revelation to the extent Evans will find it difficult to dislodge him. Been absolutely outstanding in there. Pace, calmness and the fact he’s left footed provides a good balance there and also his use of the ball when it comes to playing balls out has made a difference.

Horton’s been a great signing. Kudos to Mr Butler for that masterstroke. Good, solid LB too before he was suspended.

Johnson is on a part time contract so will essentially be on peanuts. York has done us a favour with recalling Watson. Mahady again played very well and he just happens to have way better distribution and is at least as good or if not a marginally better shot stopper.

This you can chalk down to a happy accident. Down the line we need a solid, stable perm keeper, but if we get Mahady on loan for the rest of the season come January I would be more than happy.

I would rather we took him on a longer loan not too further down the line because if we keep extending month on month, it wouldn’t stop a club simply coming in and taking him on a more perm loan.

York City must think they have been clever by recalling Watson, but have ended up not only saving us money on wages, but have strengthened us. Huge thanks to York City.

Over the moon with York City. Thanks again.

certainly nowhere near as poor as some made out in a desperate attempt to be proven right.

No question he’s had good moments and there’s never been any question as to his shot stopping. No getting away from the two blunders against Forest Green and Boston cost us 4 points. All game vs Carlisle he looked a nervous wreck when coming to collect every high ball.

kicking has been more than a bit dodgy too. As I said above though he has had good moments. The save the other day was outstanding.

Was Watson ever good enough for a team 2nd in the league who are seemingly challenging for a title ?

I was never convinced, but many other fans were. That’s football for you.

Watson dropped another clanger. What’s new there ?

Putting all the supposed conspiracy bullshit regarding Campbell and Butler to one side. Watson isn’t good enough and never will be.

How much more leeway is he going to be given when he keeps making mistakes ?

Granted there were a catalogue of errors in the lead up to the shot which he palmed straight into danger, but come on….he’s got to do better than that. Any GK with basic, good solid fundamentals gathers that in.

Before certain people start wading in with the age old “you hate Butler” or “you have it in for Watson”, which I may add is complete horse shit, please take into consideration that if any other outfield player was continually making the same mistakes I would be saying the exact thing about them.

Phil, I acknowledge the fact there were errors in the build up to them having the shot, but a capable GK easily deals with said shot.

Even commentary from Boston’s end called it a “goalkeeping howler” which it was. We need to be better as a collective unit, but having a GK who is essentially keeps making basic errors, it’s making it worse.

Having a GK who’s so unsure coming off his line to collect high balls into the box is hardly going to get the best out of the CB’s for instance as they’re going to be on edge and stretched feeling the need to compensate for Watson.

What CB would want to play in front of a GK who hugely struggles to command his box and looks so unsure when claiming high balls ?

Burny has his agenda set in stone he never changes TBF whatever he bangs on about but it don’t make him right it’s just his opinion which is worth jacks**t to anyone else but him, moving on.

As your opinion about me having a supposed agenda isn’t worth shit either, works both ways. Every time a cross came into the box I was on edge. He was a bloody death trap. No agenda at play here, I assure you.

He was indecisive and a nervous wreck all game with shite distribution. Me stating that isn’t agenda driven, I’m just simply clarifying what my eyes told me.

No, this isn’t about me hating the club or Butler. Butler has done a great job and has put together a squad way better than I expected. All this is down to is having a GK who is way short of the ability level shown by the other 10 outfield players.

End of. It really is that simple. If you don’t agree then fine. Free world and all that !

Yorks goal was identical, why didn’t you blame that keeper?
At least show some consistency daft lad.

How was that identical you prat ?. York striker, albeit unmarked headed it into the ground and the ball went near the top corner.

Watson was superglued to his goal line from a corner. How can you even compare the two ?

We’d have won that with Campbell in goal

Whatever you’ve been taking to come to that conclusion, please stop. I know you’re emotionally invested in Campbell, but let me break this to you, he currently isn’t good enough. If we could extend the young lad from Leeds loan and send Campbell out on loan it would be fantastic.

“Another very good performance from RW”

He had a good performance Forest Green, but flapped at a cross and cost us a goal. Against Boreham he played well. The save when he prevented an own goal was impressive. The other saves were at fairly good heights for him to save and looked fairly routine.

I still think there are too many mistakes in him personally, but he’s much, much better than Campbell. That I won’t question. Interesting apb that you appear when he’s played well while perched upon your high horse.

I can’t remember seeing any comments from you after he completely fecked the cross up against Forest Green and cost us a goal.

I took what he said with a handful of salt

But he said it and now will have to own it ! Now he has to do something.

This is the same George Aitkenhead who appeared on Iron hour podcast stating that no deal was to be done with fc100,000. Fast forward 2/3 months and the board were on the verge of signing off on a deal ?

When asked he said he was looking to sign two players and was quite enthusiastic and came across as certain. Butler was asked the same question about a week later came across as hesitant and quite dismissive. Butler in a sense tried batting the question away saying he was 100% happy with the squad and that it was strong.

Also made a comment again post Southend crowing about the squad strength. Maybe I’m looking too much in to it, but it does seem to me the energy has changed in regards to players coming in.

Deerey at his condescending best. Thank you for reminding this is real football and not fantasy. I needed reminding after forgetting seeing men running around a badly cut up pitch, whilst battling to pass and kick a ball of air.

It appears that something has changed. If that is indeed the case that we’re having difficulty moving players out, why come out so bullishly talking up the fact we’re to sign two more players if we weren’t sure what clubs the players where moving on are even going to ?

You would have thought they would have set deals up for them going out first before coming out and saying anything about players coming in.

Injuries have held him back, if they hadn’t he wouldn’t be playing at that level. I suspect the reason why he managed to play the season without injuries is down to the fact he’s part time.

Only 26 yrs of age playing at that level ?.

If his body had held out and he progressed there was no reason he couldn’t at least play at lg 2 level.

I fancy a 2-1 win. Dawson and Roberts. Whitehall is rated as 50/50 to start so will probably be coming off the bench.

There’s still too much focus on the keepers

Disagree. Neither are currently good enough. Watson is showing why he’s only played 4 first team games in 3 years and Campbell is a project. I’d rather we had a capable goalkeeper and I’d rather he learnt his trade out on loan.

Our first 10 is as good as anything in this league, we really should be fielding a GK which compliments the other 10 players.

Hopefully Beck will go out on loan and not come back

Wish him all the best but he needs moving on. Looks shot to me and struggles to even get around the pitch. People keep replying with “we need to play to his strengths” but even when he comes off the bench he struggles to hold on to the ball because he struggles to cover any ground to even get to it in the first place. Beck reminds me of the shot version of ” THE TREE” the one and only Chris Iwelumo who looked like he used to wear lead boots.

I just hope he’s been brought in as competition off the bench and not solely because Whitehall is crocked.

We need a capable GK next. I did get carried away that “dracula” Mr Watson was a devout Christian as he appeared to love crosses but that’s backfired these past two games.

I’m sure now that very solid 1st game was a rare occurrence. We seriously need a more capable GK. Seems a shame to self sabotage this season when our first 10 are as good as anything in this league.

The other outfield players deserve better than drac and Campbell.

They have to be heavily sanctioned. You can’t just decide not to finish a game after being ordered too just because you don’t feel like it.

The league will surely have to make an example of them to safeguard against any other clubs trying it on.

End of the day they were ordered by the league and the ref to finish the game and flatly refused. They have to be heavily fined and for us to get the points. Now, if this is allowed to stand and they get away with it, you’ll have other teams trying this 100%. As a result the game as we know it will be no more.

They have to be fined. Ordered by the league to finish but refused to come out claiming they weren’t in the right place mentally. I mean come on.

If this is allowed to stand it will bring the game into disrepute and you’ll have other teams trying that kind of crap. I’ve seen some things in football but what Wealdstone did was terrible, so, so poor from them.

Definitely a yellow card. I was fuming when I was watching because all he needed to to was lay the ball off. Completely brainless. If not for that daft decision and kept 11 men on the pitch we would have won.

As mentioned above though, when down to 10 mean we still need to carry a threat as camping every man behind ball is too passive and just invites wave and wave of pressure.

Butler needs to be more brave in this situations.

Big Jean the french fella can play there. Surely it has to be him !. That was a red card for Starbuck too. That was a clear dive. Really stupid as all he needed to do was pass it.

Two really stupid sendings off in back to back games and need to cut it out. I firmly believe we would have won that shit fest if he didn’t decide to do a Whitehall and throw himself to the floor.

When Bru was on the old site a number of years ago, there was someone, I can’t remember who who kept banging on about getting Hill as manager (a long time before we actually did) and look how that turned out. I’ve looked on the old site to try to find their posts but they must have been archived.

    Burney.

To be fair other people fancied him as manager too, not just me. Hill before we signed him had a good record too. Interesting how I’m always picked out lol

Keep it going lads. Look through the archives, I’m sure you’ll find more.

I like that Butler sticks up for his players and protects them

I think that’s great to as he’s their manager and that’s what he’s there to do. Butler can back the players all he likes, but you can do that without making ridiculous claims regarding the fans with anything negative to say that they don’t want the club to succeed or players not to make it in the game.

What he’s basically saying is that if you go on X or any other platform and vent your frustrations about any of the players for whatever reason you’d better stay at home because the club don’t want you there as it’s only £20 they’d be missing out on.

    Not great is it.

Maybe so, but fans criticising a player who at times hasn’t looked ready and who’s made mistakes is one thing, but to state that fans who have been critical towards Maison want the club to fail and don’t want him to succeed is bonkers.

I wish Butler would think about what he says before he actually says it. No doubt he thinks he’s simply being honest, but he ends up miles off it.

I don’t know about barking up the wrong tree, I think he’s at a different woods all together.
