Three keepers on the books in NL hakeeeeb? Don’t think it’ll happen.
Need that goal scoring prowess we’re still desperately lacking.
Another who has struggled to play a full season for most of his career.
This is probably why:
“Butterfield missed the rest of the 2011–12 season through injury following a shocking ‘tackle’ in the New Year’s Eve derby encounter with Leeds United bringing his “amazing” form to an end. Scans taken after the match showed it to be torn anterior cruciate ligaments. He finished the season – albeit prematurely – with five goals to his name and a growing reputation in The Championship, described by his manager Keith Hill as the best midfielder in the league.”
Obviously a decent midfielder, but still not a CF.

Enough syllables in his name to replace KvV in the 7 Nation Army chant.
“Oh, Kevan Kahous-si!”

Waiting for Awaywego to ask “which one is the tranny?”
Not really. We used to sign injured players on two-year deals!

Definitely need another RB and two forwards before we can even think about competing. So four more decent singings is a must.

Says it all about our recruitment that Kenyon is now gracing the midfield of a bottom-half NLN club
Won’t even be doing that. They’ve a midfielder called George Glendon who’s miles better.
The men’s game has been around for close on 150 years WG.
I bet if you were to be able to watch footage of a game from the 1890s it would look crap by modern comparisons.
Give them time!
My Chester FC pal contacted me last night with the exciting news that they had signed a new midfield “general” in the shape of ex-Iron Alex Kenyon.
When I pointed out he played in a grand total of 7 games for us with 0 goals & 0 assists and was so crap we got rid in January his bubble soon burst!
Such was last summer’s recruitment. Can’t be as bad this year surely?
Lee may have thought that. The “signings” may have thought differently!

I think that was a pint of Harveys Bristol Cream you ordered ‘tash!

Whether it’s true or not GP is far from being the smallest playing surface in the leagues. Far from it….
111 x 73 8103 Scunthorpe United
112 x 72 8064 Sheffield United, Newport County, Queens Park Rangers
110 x 73 8030 Bristol Rovers, Walsall
111 x 72 7992 Accrington Stanley, Cheltenham Town
111 x 72 7990 Barnet
114 x 70 7980 Mansfield Town
110 x 72 7920 Crawley Town, Burton Albion, Luton Town
113 x 70 7910 Bradford City
112 x 70 7840 Ipswich Town
109 x 71 7739 Fulham
110 x 70 7700 Swindon Town, Colchester United, Stevenage
106 x 72 7632 Oldham Athletic
102 x 70 7140 Reading
110 x 60 6600 Wigan Athletic
100 x 66 6600 Crewe Alexandra(L x W + area in yds)
So clubs like Accrington and Cheltenham with smaller pitches and smaller fan bases being in L1 shows just how badly we have underachieved.

Ironking, you can be arsed to post on here, and that’s a start.
Hang on in there mate. Remember you’re not alone. Far from it.

A (mid) 20th Century Boy?
…..but a cheap one!
“Old TV programmes now banned as offensive”.
Can you imagine some of today’s programmes being aired in the 60s & 70s?
Mary Whitehouse would have had apoplexy!
Things change. Accept it and move on.

Many rival fans would say Scunthorpe United have found their level.
Many home fans would say Glanford Park has!
Maybe Pat but at least you can see the players’ numbers and read the names on the back of the shirts.
Nor does it take the ball boys ten minutes to retrieve a ball when it goes out of play!
Show him some old footage of Bremner in action!
The idea is to promote inclusively and show the club isn’t stuck in a 70s mindset and welcomes everyone.
This is a concept that many struggle to understand. As highlighted on t’other board in days passed.

Daz, you should email your observations to the CEO.
Oh! Just remembered. We don’t have one!

It’s not about you filling another club’s coffers. It’s about our own cash flow.
That’s if we were to play Eastleigh on a Tuesday. It’s in the lap of the fixture gods.
And how many of their fans would make a weekend of a visit to Sunny Scunny?
Rochdale, Northampton, Harrogate, Chesterfield and York fans on the other hand are much more likely to attend whatever day of the week.
The good guys mostly came when we were in The Championship and L1.
We ain’t going to get another Jack Cork in the National League.
After all weren’t people on here suggesting our undercooked players should go out on loan to the NL the past two seasons?
And as for those hardened professionals. Tommy Johnson, Chris Iwelumo, Geoff Horsefield etc.
It really is pot-luck!
Here’s a reminder of just who those people voted into power:
All Tuesday night games NI?.
Makes no difference.
Whether he realises it or not is irrelevant if he’s not allowed to do anything about it anyway.

A N&S split would maximise income by offering more local games with potentially higher attendances whilst cutting travelling costs.

The one good thing about trialists is that we’re not making signings for the sake of appeasing the fans only to discover half a dozen games into the season we’ve bought a pup.
Had Ntlhe signed many on here would have moaned because we didn’t need another LB.
If he’s left then that leaves another space hopefully to be filled by a striker.
The worry about rummaging through the bargain bucket still remains, but we don’t want any shirts that are going to remain hidden at the back of the wardrobe!
Ntlhe and Ledger then?
Fear not. Normal service will be resumed!
