They are promoted because they think people are interested.
And a hell of a lot of them are!

I’m sure Ms B will do something over next few days to rekindle the debate!
November 4, 2022 at 5:14 pm in reply to: “Left wing BBC”, claiming we’re at war with immigrants #248126Wonder what they’d have reported during the 5th & 6th Centuries?
Both Man Utd and West Ham won in Europe last night with teenagers in the side.
A seventeen year old scored for City on Wednesday.
Okay this is Scunthorpe, not Manchester. But it’s also the National League not Europe.
Not saying it’s the answer, but worth considering.

Proof please?
“The only reason I have reacted angrily is because you speak to others as if they’re beneath you.”
Same as it ever was!
I have said on many occasions that Bucks actually does raise some pertinent points which are worthy of discussion.
However, as Siderite says, it is not easy to debate the topic for the reasons he gives.
C’mon Bucks, you’ve a lot to say, but why resort to whataboutery, gaslighting and straw-manning?

Kevin Spacey, Gabriel Byrne, Benicio del Toro, Pete Postlethwaite……!
Was at the previous drawn game at SJP.
Bet none of those kids got lifetime bans for running on the pitch either!
Great days when the FA Cup meant something.
RIP RR.

Has Harper scored within a minute of coming on? Ffs!
Did Jarvis really score a hat-trick for Torquay? FFS!
More likely to see him eating that than humble pie!

Shot down over the Solent.
And crashing back down to earth!
“……….and making out men can become women, and vice versa, is only humouring people.”
A bit like Dr Who then?
Still job vacancies being advertised on the OWS.

No, haven’t you heard, he doesn’t exist.
Neither does racism if you believe some on here!

“What is a woman?”
According to your magic book she’s a small part of a bloke’s rib.
So that would make the genome 44XY ie male.
So yes, if you believe that story Eve would have had a penis.
Is God a racist?
That reminds me. We haven’t heard from Bloodyrubbishiron for a while.
Hope they’re okay.

“Certain people on here claim to care about the poor and needy while ridiculing comments from anyone who doesn’t fit what they believe to be an acceptable political profile”
Now who does that sound like a description of? 🤔

But will we get £250k for him?
Trump doesn’t have a toothbrush moustache or a completely shaved head, so he can’t be far right!
Correct Deerey.
We have no gas in our village so our house has electric night storage heaters.
Just before Covid we’d looked at updating to a Fischer system. To do that we’d have had to go on a flat rate tariff. We decided against it and stuck with what we had on an E10 tariff (7hrs cheaper rate overnight and 3hrs in the afternoon).
Glad we did as although our daytime unit rate has gone up by 25% the nighttime price has dropped by 20%.
So it will cost us less to run the heaters this winter than last, and we can put the dishwasher and washing machine on timer overnight too.
That’s why the government figure of £2,500 cap on annual use is a complete red herring. It’s all about unit price and usage. You could quite easily exceed £2,500 (Mrs NI has an electric kiln!).
Capping won’t make any difference. You either use power or you don’t. Nor will cash handouts or six month discounts. Sure they’ll help out short term, but long term the only realistic way of making it affordable to all is to keep the unit price low.
The reason my provider gave for the increase was that wholesale prices had risen, even on renewables. This begs the question, are producers holding the consumers to ransom like in the plot of “Total Recall”? Are companies more interested in profits and dividends for their shareholders than providing essential services to the public?
I don’t know, but I do know that the problem won’t be solved by giving every household £400 over six months. As welcome as it is it doesn’t address the real issues.
Well, let’s just hope these cheap renewables are all they’re made out to be. I wouldn’t bank on it.
Nothing is cheap Bucks, and therein lies the problem!
Mind you, companies like Shell with their huge profits don’t help matters.
I could suggest an alternative way to go but I’d be shot down in flames!
Who’s dystopian novel will be the best?
Bucksiron’s or Billpuntonsghost?
There’s only one way to find out…
…FIGHT!
I think 50p a chip is probably what they cost these days!

And I refer you back to my post on the cashless society thread. Isn’t this what your Jesus preached?
Matthew 6: “You cannot serve God and Mammon!”
Why so obsessed with money and belongings?
And still obsessed with Covid too, I see.

Additionally….
“Polling for the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change found that six out of 10 people believe Brexit has worsened the UK economy, including over a third of Leave voters. A majority of people, including Leavers, overwhelmingly support a better-functioning relationship with the EU, with 77 per cent backing closer trade and border arrangements.”
Just keep kidding yourself everything is the same as it was in 2016 and you’ll be fine.
The “will of the people” seems to be changing….
Brexit: Rejoining EU takes record 14-point lead in latest poll.
