Well we managed to stay top for four days!

What was I saying about consistency?

So you think that we should put the people who created these problems in charge of the solution?

And you wonder why the country is in such a sad state!

It will probably disgust or incense you that my main weapon of warfare is prayer

    ????

I bet you don’t win any battles then?

It’s not the kind of non-football discussion they would like to see. Personally I’d like to see more debate about creosote, but it never happens.

I think it’s been banned Deerey!

Replaced by something less harmful. A bit like some former contributors to this forum.

    Southern town???

Further north than Stamford in Lincolnshire.

Hope for another 2-0 win, but head says more like a 1-1 draw.

I recall being on Wembley Way ahead of the Johnstone’s Paints Trophy Final and the Luton fans were chanting “we speak English!”

Good place to be, not just for the obvious reasons, but because the table is getting very congested below us.

    3pts separating 6th place from 18th!

If we can show some consistency whilst other teams are beating each other randomly then we stand a good chance of staying there.

“The thing is with Cruella Braverman, that she has the guts to speak her mind”.

If that’s what goes on in her mind then she’s a time traveler from the mid 19th century!

Off to Darlo tomorrow with my Chester mate.

Give me a chance to check out our Trophy opposition, although I expect Chester to win comfortably.

Also expect us to have a straightforward victory against Gloucester, although after 60+ years of watching the Iron I’ve learned that nothing is straightforward!

    3-1

We’re back on character assassination again are we?

Suppose we’ve had a few weeks respite!

The fact that when Boyce is in the match day squad Chapman never features would suggest that Jimmy rates Boyce a better replacement keeper than him.

Anyone know if loan players are allowed to play against there parent club in the NLN – or does it depend on the individual arrangements with each player?

Arrrgh! The thought of facing Southport with both Carver and Bennett up front.

    We’ll get mullered!

The teams around us, ie Tamworth, Shields, and Spennymoor. Well we’ve beaten all three.

Can’t do any more than that!

NI, or anyone else up there, what’s the likelihood of the game being on.

If it’s in doubt then it can only be down to standing water.

Yesterday’s storm didn’t affect the NE much, and it’s dry and sunny here this morning.

A bit of ground maintenance today and it should be okay. No rain forecast overnight either so if it’s playable at 17:00 it’ll be on.

Don’t forget our “spot on” home form included a 0-3 defeat to Buxton.

Our performances to date have been like a bag of Revels!

We all know what encourages people to come along regularly, and playing at National League North level doesn’t!

Winning 6-0 & 6-1 may be a lever but that’s not going to happen every game.

Classic Catch 22. We need to be higher up the FL Pyramid to get the crowds but to get there we need better attendance now!

Agreed! I’d keep and play him alongside Whitehall.

That means Carver can go to Southport on a permanent and we can afford to lose Elliott or Bennett.

Once we get Beestin and Roberts fit you could argue that we could manage without either.

Probably grab a swift one in the Spartans clubhouse. Will be on a quick turnaround as my son is in work that night and have get back for the Fireworks at 7pm!

We’ll be shoehorned in behind the goal at the end opposite the clubhouse. It could be quite snug!

Good fish & chips down near the harbour if you’re making a day of it.

Got to agree with Ferrite on this one.

Don’t know about the Blue Bell but in my experience it’s a lottery as to whether(spoons) you get a drinkable pint or a glass of flat vinegar!

On a similar theme. My daughter (now in her 30s) was always surprised when her “aged” parents knew the lyrics to a recently released song!

Latest example was when we knew all the words to “Fast Car”, done recently by Luke Combs.

The number of 80s songs that have been reworked is quite staggering!
