Should have gone when Hilton did
But Michelle had enough debts to pay off without adding to the pile by paying off Dean’s contract and hiring his replacement.
Waiting until his contract expired was always the best option.
And but for one missed penalty it could have ended on a high.
Thanks Jimmy and good luck in your next appointment. As long as it’s not in charge of the team that will beat us in next year’s playoffs!
In retrospect it was a bit like asking an EasyJet pilot to fly the Space Shuttle.
I think it is the right decision, but time will tell.
In case anybody didn’t see it further up the thread, he’s here for the foreseeable.
Not what I would’ve wanted but the board do.So who is the jaw-dropping new appointment you’ve been telling us about?
Aye, you’d think the club expected to lose in the semis!

Totally agree, who wants to come here if that is how we treat our managers, wake up everyone
Anyone who wants to manage a former league team who play in a proper stadium in front of 3,000+ supporters, rather than a pub team who play on a dodgy pitch surrounded by a white fence watched by 200 old blokes and their grandkids.
Isn’t that what Dean did?

Blind Pew?
Second in my opinion is only success if we go up NI
Too true mate!
More depressed tonight than I was this time last year.
Funny how posters on here care more than the people of Gateshead!
If the guy in charge of VAR was a Luton fan I’d have thought he’d have wanted a draw between the two teams immediately above them!
Shame for the fans? What fans? 500 die-hards?
Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead has a population of around 200,000 yet home attendances are between 600 and 1,000. 879 v Chesterfield earlier this month. Hello!
So only 0.5% of the population can be arsed to go along. They’re all Mags anyway. Sooner pull on their black and white striped shirts and spend Saturday afternoon in the pub than pay to go to the International Stadium.
Proper Mickey Mouse club!
The refs and linesman didn’t see the hand of God goal or the England goal against Germany 2010. FIFA couldn’t allow them decisions to carry on it was getting embarrassing for them.
That England “goal” would have been given with goal line technology, which is totally different to VAR!

Wish we’d had VAR at Spennymoor!
This has been going on for well over a decade.
Everyone up here knows that the Heed will not cut it as an EFL club as long as they continue to play at the International Stadium.
Plans were drawn up donkeys years ago for a shiny new stadium on the old North Durham CC site but rather like our own Lincolnshire Lakes project nothing came of it.
Gateshead is still waiting for the new state of the art music venue to be built on the car park of the other state of the art music venue!
What’s more important sport or the arts?
Wonder what Pep would have said had he been manager of Truro?
‘It’s not acceptable’ – Guardiola hits out at schedule
I was there and Awaywego was halfway up the floodlight pylon!

lol! Was this written by a Tory minister?
We’re doing it for player welfare so here’s a few quid extra to stay schtum!
Success breeds success. Baby steps and all that.

Decent keepers with a bit of a crazy streak!
The problem with this league has been the poor refereeing and some of the shitty grounds we’ve played at.
At the risk of sounding arrogant we’re used to a better standard.

A prime opportunity to showcase what Merseyside has to offer?
Well we’ve been one of the 24 turds floating within!
Can Jimmy polish us up for the playoffs?
Play him at Gloucester!
If we do go up this season then the job next term will be a much harder one.
Whoever is in charge.
Blyth (or one of those teams around them) could end up being relegated with 50+ points!
Bloody tough luck on them.
About time Kings Lynn did us a favour!
It’s the gap between us and Chorley you need to worry about.
Did us a bit favour by losing today. Lowest we can finish now is fourth. I reckon one more win will see us secure second or third.

Just what I was wondering.
Sounds familiar!
