Who’s going to want to replace him under the present regime?

We need a strong character with a reputation for getting a squad fired up and competing.

    a) It there anyone with those credentials available.

    b) How long would he last before he ruffled a few of those white feathers?

Disagree, some of them already have been used, and I’m sure the likes of Pugh and Wilson will get more game time as the season progresses, to add to Rowe’s and O’Malley’s experience from last year.

You can’t really count the academy players and I’ve not seen enough of Jessop, Gallimore and Shrimpton to form an opinion as yet.

With the U23s shelved this competition is the only chance these lads will get to taste competitive football so let’s not get too uptight about it.

BS – you wouldn’t have had to listen to the commentary if you’d gone to the match. With just 860 in attendance there would have been plenty of parking space and you’d have got a seat that wasn’t behind one of the stanchions!

There’s plenty of things to complain about, but our kids (plus Onariase and Davis) losing to Man City’s isn’t one.

I trust all of those having a moan about the score went tonight?

When we went to Wimbledon pre-season we not only scored two goals but also saw out the game.

The only conclusion I can come up with is that for league games Cox has put the fear of losing into the squad.

It’s Wilcox time once more, only with worse players.

Will we ever see attacking football again?

972 in the Mickey mouse cup would be a good crowd.

I thought PL U21s were brought into the competition to boost gates!

Dunno about James Bonds, but we’ve a fair few Dr Nos amongst our fans!

The Old Farmhouse and Costa will be rubbing their hands together. Swann wants us to come and spend money but all he does is encourage us to spend it elsewhere.

Yes a new owner will make our players turn into Messi, Ronaldo etc.

    Cloud cuckoo land.

It might turn our supporters into the Kop or the Stretford End!

    4,677 at Hartlepool.

But they’re just a Mickey Mouse club fresh out of non-league!

    Bridge, water, under, the.

Sometimes you have to take a step back before you can move forwards (Godden eg).

If they’re any good they’ll be picked up a year or so down the line.

    Wow!

His stock has risen by £1m in the space of a few minutes!

Ugbo, who is 22 years old, has never played a professional game for Chelsea. Since graduating their academy, the Lewisham-born forward has been on loan to five different destinations.

He impressed on his most recent excursion with Belgian side Cercle Brugge, operating at a goal every other game.

That led to speculation of a permanent exit, which could generate Chelsea a small windfall. There was talk of a £5m move to Genk, another Belgian side. In fact, he has already been in advanced talks with them and a medical was booked in.”

KDT must be worth at least £5 million if this ex-loanee is worth £4 million….

“Chelsea still have an unwieldy squad, even after clawing back more than £91m in sales so far. Ike Ugbo is set to add another £4m to that figure, with Genk and Marseille battling for his signature.”

I know of people who actually went to Sunderland games at the SoL but spent most of the time in the concourse, swilling lager and watching the game on the monitors!

If those players think they are better than L2, or they don’t want to play in the role they’ve been asked to play then I may partially agree.

But from what those who actually went are saying that doesn’t sound the case. Particularly now Pugh is back in his best position.

Let’s see how we fare against the new boys.

If you want to be optimistic then opt for 3-5-2!

Rowe and O’Malley wing backs, three in CM (including Pugh in his correct position), and Green & Bunn up top.

That’s almost as optimistic as putting Hallam in your starting lineup!

The apologists will still find some way to blame it on the fans/covid though.

The apologists will say he’s neither a fan nor a customer, so his views don’t count!

I find it absolutely bizarre we signed him in the first place when we had KVV, Olomola, Loft and Jarvis on the payroll.

But he’s not the first is he?

    Vose, Margetts, El Mahani, Dales.

Obviously paying his wage instead of a team of maintenance workers!

Cashless makes sense at turnstiles and the ticket office. Even the refreshments kiosks, as it saves time sorting out change and cuts out errors related to such.

But where Staffy’s draw tickets are concerned I can’t see how it would be an issue, especially if he’s the only one handling the cash.

Handing the lucky winner(s) their prize money at halftime is another matter however.

    Sands Venue gift vouchers perhaps!
