Your wanting one for your mate IB I’m guessing.

It was difficult to tell which of us liked him the most IA.
Good day out. Many thanks to Patrick for his hospitality and arranging the tour of the ground. Awaywego had to do my tour as I was a bit late and Patrick was in great demand getting the 3 excellent catering outlets ready.
Nice ground and set up so no wonder the Ilkeston fans rightly proud of what Hilton helped them create.
We even turned up and played a bit of football. Awaywego and I even had a chat with Hilton about our mutual respect for the previous owner. Very personable guy on that evidence.

Hard to tell in a ground you have never been in but I would say disappointing numbers of both home and away fans.
I’m guessing 12 – 15 hundred.
750
Bit harsh on the Holy Blues AA.
Thank you Patrick for your kind offer particularly after the abuse you received from 2 or 3 of the arseholes that inevitably turn up on every open forum.
The majority of Iron fans are very decent people but our sense of humour has been stretched to the limit by Peter Swann’s antics over the last 5 or 6 years.
I am coming over Saturday and should be able to rearrange some family stuff I had planned for the morning to get there before you get too busy. Be good to meet Awaywego as well having occasionally shared a bit of banter with on here.

Such a joy to post on here these days.
Anyone know the collective noun for a bunch of arseholes?

I believe Patrick did say there is a large clubhouse which welcomes away fans.
Perhaps Patrick or another friendly Ilkeston fan could confirm?
Couple of other queries regarding the ground. What’s the situation regarding parking. Best places and cost.
Most importantly given the weather forecast what are the chances of Iron fans being able to watch the game under some cover?
Not me just trying to be helpful.
Possibly Ogle, Pugh and Sembie-Ferris who have not featured in friendlies yet.
Have been reported as carrying knocks.
Bru membership isn’t a prison sentence, last time I checked
It has felt a bit like one at times recently Deery.
Almost a relief to have some sh1te football to talk about again.
Kieran Maguire – “I don’t want to sound all ITK and all nudge nudge, wink wink.”
That jobs already taken IB.

Had a quick listen to The Price of Football. Learned nothing other than the 2 presenters think Swann and Hilton should be talking and resolving things professionally rather than making statements on fan forums or social media platforms.
I don’t think many fans would disagree with that view.

Chapman gave away their second goal with a lazy clearance under no pressure.
Like so many players over the last 5 years or so he looked a much better player once he left Glumford Park.
About the same Cass. At least he (allegedly) claims he meant Swann and not fans.
Never got a disclaimer or apology from Cygnet or Swann.

Let’s hope Hilton doesn’t spend all the club money & then jog on. It won’t be his own money that he has spent.
Not sure where Hilton found the secret stash of “club money” he gets to run off with. Pretty sure Swann left him with fairly massive debts. The club was within hours or certainly days of administration when he came in. He might have been a bit late paying some of the debts but I think we can safely say he has been spending a lot of his own money since he arrived.

Quick reminder of what David Hilton said at the fans forum.
He stated Swann had promised there were no issues with the land when the price was agreed. 3 issues had then come to light on investigation by solicitors.
1. The so called ransom strip had been discovered between the stadium and the training pitch. It was thought probably just an error in the deeds joining 2 parcels of land and would be easily resolved by applying to the Land Registry. Hilton asked Swann (as owner of the land to do this). Hilton’s solicitors view was this was a fairly minor issue but would take 8 to 10 weeks due to Land Registry response times. Swann refused to do this.
2. There was an issue of access at the other side of the stadium granted to the original landowner (a farmer whose name he thought was Jackson). The access was to fields the other side of the railway line. He felt Swann would have known about this and should have told him as it could impact any potetial redevelopment.
3. Swann had told him that existing outline planning permission was still in place for the apartments. The council had told him the permission had lapsed.
Hilton said he had offered to pay Swann £20k per month rent to give Swann time to resolve the issues and that he would pay the agreed purchase price once resolved.
Hilton said Swann refused to do anything and ceased to communicate with Hilton from that point on.
Hilton also explained his plan to personally rent the stadium to the club in the meantime and predicted Swann would probably sue and try to evict the football club. Pretty much what has started to happen in the last 24 hours. I am quite surprised it has come as a shock to anyone – probably the only surprise about it is that it has taken this long.
Hilton seemed to believe Swann would have difficulty in evicting the club at least in the short term. I am sure Swann thinks differently so I guess we will soon find out who is correct.
Wouldn’t it be better if Swanny came back even Deerey is believing his statements now. I always said better the devil you know.
There have been a number of ridiculous posts in the last 24 hours but as usual Awaywego zooms in and takes top spot comfortably.

I was looking forward to the fixtures as much as ever but must admit to being totally underwhelmed once I saw them.
No disrespect to the NLN teams but it brings it home how far and fast we have fallen.
Sulk over. Let’s get on and win this here league. For the first time in my 60 years of support we are the big cheese instead of being little Scunny. Instead of opposition managers fearing the sack when we beat them it will be Jimmy fearing the worst when we lose a game.
Hope Jimmy and the squad can deal with having a target on their backs.
Are you suggesting our owner has done prison time?
If not then what point are you trying to make?
Perhaps because Humberside don’t seem to give us coverage any more.
Fishing.
Hereford away.
Don’t forget Mussy. Still coaching our keepers to stay on their line.

Still can’t find any NLN odds out there. Might appear when the fixtures are announced next week.
You can get 10 to 1 on Cods for relegation.
Wish I was a better person but when we lost to Blackpool and Luton at Wembley I was out of there immediately.
Probably had a beer in hand by the time any medals were handed out.

I would hope their focus would be safety. Nothing to do with them any legal wrangling over ownership or tenancy issues.
Do I hear a faint clutching of straws in the background?
