Good chance for Elliott to show us what he’s made of in what I’m sure is his preferred position.

He has 3 fairly tough games to do it in.

If he was approaching the 30 mark he would be gone already.

Either a brave or stupid decision not to segregate. Time will tell which.

Hope our small section of wannabe troublemakers go easy on the shandies and lines of talc.

We don’t need sanctions financial or otherwise at this time. The National League seem more prepared to sanction for fan behaviour than the EFL.

As Awaywego rightly says the biggest risk is that Leeds and Bradford nutters see it as an opportunity for trouble.

We didn’t get much reward for our commitment Cliff.

Better than Christmas shopping but only just.

It’s a sign of the times with top level football.

For most of my life I would have known most of this stuff. Since the age of potential super leagues, Premier League mascots on £70k a year and ever increasing Saudisation of football I really can’t be arsed with it.

National League North isn’t such a bad place to be (for 1 season hopefully).

If we get a half decent ref we will win.

Another one that ignores the incessant petty fouls and blatant play acting and we might struggle for a point.

They will be much happier with the forecasted high winds than us.

11 for me with no hints.

Surprisingly a bit light on NLN questions.

Jenkins looks a decent prospect but was obviously brought in to cover for Clunan’s injury.

He is not going to break into the holy trinity that is our midfield so will probably be heading back to Leeds in a couple of weeks.

Might have been just the circumstances of the particular games but the last couple of times Wilson has come on Jimmy has put him in midfield rather than wide or up front. Don’t see him as a midfielder myself but Jimmy might have a masterplan.

At the start of the season we were complaining about having too many midfield players. Now if Jenkins does go back we look very light for cover.

Only really Shrimpton as Jimmy seems to see Beestin as a wide forward.

A bad weekend in the cup but a fine weekend in the league.

Well done Chester. Back in our hands and a chance on Tuesday to create a bit of daylight.

You can probably work out how many of the signings were Jimmy’s choices by checking how many of the bargain bin signings are still at the club and making the starting 11.

    It’s a nice round number.

Very harsh to blame Dean for that sh1tshow. Pep wouldn’t have kept us up with those players.

Agree Les Buxton are masters of negative football and shithousery.

Of course those tactics rely on having a weak referee which in this league is almost a given.

If we were to only win 1 more away game this season please let it be at Buxton in a couple of weeks time.

Oh dear. We must have lost a game.

Never good to lose a match with a substandard team performance but writing off the manager and captain seems a bit of an overreaction.

Check out the league table Fansy. Then check it for the previous 5 seasons.

Blessing in disguise I am hoping. Every further round we progressed would have meant rearranging Saturday league fixtures to additional Tuesday games.

Only promotion matters. If Jimmy and Michael help us achieve that then job done. If not then we can question things.

    Disappointing game, performance and attendance.

Sad to see Solihull have succumbed to the standard National League methodology of spoiling and shithousery. They used to be a good footballing side and a pleasure to watch. They have turned into Borehamwood.

Still better than us though tonight. 5-4-1 without the ball (sometimes 5-5-0) until they went down to ten. Attacked well for the first 10 minutes to stamp their authority and physicality on us and then went into their shape and waited for our mistakes. We obliged.

It’s the template to beat us a la Curzon and Buxton. Close down Butterfield and we become a team of ponderous and misplaced passes.

Probably enough poor teams in NLN for us to get away with it but if we do go up we will struggle in the National League without a plan b and c. Has Jimmy got one?

Anything over 2,000 is a good result for a none league cup competition on a Friday night.

Solihull fans would probably fit in 1 bus.

Despite the reduced admission charges still a welcome earner given only under 12’s and 100 club members don’t pay.

Got to find new things to talk about.

    We love our new owner.

    We like our manager.

We rate our team and players.

    Our club owns it’s ground.

    Nothing to argue about.

That is paragraph three Fansy. The second paragraph:

As part of the deal, an anticipated 100 jobs are expected to be created from developments around the ground along with up to 150 homes for older residents and people with complex needs on an area which already has outline planning permission.

I do wish they would put stuff like this on the OWS. Not everyone does the social media malarkey.

The Twitter feed used to be replicated at the bottom of the latest news page on the OWS but does not seem to work these days.

I have seen nothing apart from the statement by the local MP that central government contributed financially in any way to the ground solution. It appears to be a local council decision and contribution.

In the written and electronic propaganda that I regularly receive from North Lincs Council every penny they spend is presented as a special gift from the Tories so it’s hard to be sure what finance comes from council tax and central funding and what, if any, comes from additional or so called levelling up funding.

I did read somewhere, possibly from Max Bell that the whole council supported the solution so to claim it as a gift from the Tory party is stretching credibility.

In truth for once I don’t care where the money was sourced from. Inevitably it originated from the pockets of taxpayers. I am just delighted to have a club and a ground that are Swann and Hilton free zones.

I did raise a little smile that 6 months or so ago NLC allegedly told Hilton and Swann that outline planning permission on the land had lapsed but now the council are involved it has been magically re-granted.

Not to mention how to finance the £3m ransom for the ground for the one that “stole” it.
