How big is the clear-out going to be at the end of the season, I wonder?

I see little evidence that the Iron can be champions. There are far too many negatives.
Frankly, 2nd and 3rd both look highly improbable.
The best I can see is us scraping into the really tough part of the playoffs with those welcoming away fixtures.
Wanna be wrong but no indicators that we can achieve promotion this year.
Much has to change before we can embrace concepts such as optimism.

If we’d not lingered in that wretched trough for several months – you wouldn’t have seen us now for all the dust in our wake.

I adored Clunan when he arrived. His play then sagged but he was looking pretty decent again by the end of the season.
He sagged this season when we fell into the ‘mustn’t correct the faults scenario’.
We finally set up a more intelligent playing system. Lo and behold, he starts looking like the great player he can be.

It only took our present and future manager to walk away from a failing system and the quality of the players starts to show through.

We wanted AB to show that he was flexible – well, he has. Football has improved and results okayish.
Might I suggest that he has taken ‘advice’ on board?

Well Scales and Clunan are knocking the goals in from CM.
Carlton and Beck are scoring shedloads up front.
So, no need to have any concerns AND we have the bonus of loadsa goals from defenders which is a real bonus.

Simple speculation? The talk of many seems to see it as a certainty that he will go.
Do we know this as a definite fact?

Clunan found the space he must have been long craving today; Williams brought depth when he came on; Denton looked decent – and what a goal-line save!
Carlton looked as if might need longer studs but was sharp. Defence was sound but I’d prefer to see the line be 10 yards further forward. I don’t like opposition forwards lurking on the edge of the box.

Just Iron

We looked shaky at times, particularly near the end – but there was far more sound passing than we’ve seen in any three games combined in recent history.
The Farsley result was better but that had more to do with Farsley’s abysmal form at that point and today’s game saw plentiful real passing.
Has a corner been turned? (It certainly seems to have been so for Farsley.)
For AB’s sake, as well as the club’s – let us hope so!

Commentary suggested to me that this week’s CBs were better than last week’s.

I have actual commentary ready to go on Radio Hereford and Worcester -presumably at five to, IFA.
Last week, the Humberside guys were wittering and being broadcast from half three or so.
Hereford’s main commentator doesn’t seem to realise that his mic is live.

No, Cass. This is not broadcasting on basic Radio Humberside itself. ‘Unavailable’.
I should get the commentary, agreed, but why no access to the radio station to listen to: ‘what’s wrong with Hull City?’
It’s the same mechanical rubbish you get when abroad – well, I don’t usually class Sheffield as being abroad.
