Spot on Awaywego, anybody who follows grassroots football in the Scunthorpe area know that local lads have been going to clubs, some a lot bigger then the Iron, for many a year. Strangely enough it also happens to youngsters in Grimsby , Lincoln , Hull etc, it’s how football scouting works.
Everything hunky dory then?
Bowie was right all along then 😎🎸
How many are a large portion of supporters?
Spoken like a true COVID sufferer, your forgiven 😂

I get it but as the generations pass I believe people will be seen less in the ” old ways ” and more just as what they are, people. No moral judgement from me just an opinion. An old guy next to me in the East Stand refers to skillful opposition players who are black as ” that darky is fast and strong ” he can’t help it, he’s conditioned by his upbringing and 85 years on the planet thinking and acting a certain way takes some changing and in his case he never will, he will die the way he’s been raised but thankfully generations change and we as humans can move on.

…and keeping it all in perspective spare a thought for 12000 Wilkinson workers today.
Or even the new lad with the long name coming to Scunny as well 🙄
Yep it’s a tough one but a necessary one and after years of complaining about overspending and putting the club in debt and not living within our means, we have people complaining about certain aspects of the culling process. That’s what this is a culling of practices we cannot afford in non league, hopefully as we progress back up the league structure certain practices will return but I have no problem in running as tight a ship as possible which allows us to be as viable as possible.

Spot on Richgy, we can’t affect the off field stuff anyway but we can hopefully enjoy a successful season of football from the Iron and try to put other matters to the backs of our mind.
Rust Never Sleeps 😎🎸

Hilton said last week all staff were paid in full, but that isn’t true is it Hilton?
Shameful. Time to go.I don’t know is it?, your word against his, no evidence as usual, just a comment.
Well I’m guessing part of his wages will be payed by the club he’s loaned too so that will offset some of the cost but the plan is surely to assemble a squad large enough to get out of this league this season and therefore numbers will be important in that regard, plenty of injuries and suspensions lay in wait over the coming months and there could be a recall option on Barrow if needs be.
Just got my ticket from the club office for Saturday, according to the young lady behind the counter Peterborough Sports have purchased 30 tickets so far, let’s hope a few pay on the dayers turn up in the away end or else it will be very quiet in there 😴
The plan I believe was to turn over the wage bill ratio to favour the playing squad rather than other staff, so you’ve answered your own question in a way. Sorry Ferrite I was replying to your question but AA jumped in first.

As we know, goats will eat anything.
What’s on the match day menu?Doesn’t matter, most fans will eat anything too 😂
SNOT rumbled, shock horror probe 😳😂

Agreed JI, Pele and SNOT have a similar way of informing us about absolutely nothing while making out it’s earth shattering. In my book if you’ve nowt to say or you reckon you can’t say then stay stum and see if anything develops, which actually is all we can do anyway. It’s bollocks for bollocks sake IMO.
Wonder what the deal is 🤔
Butterfield on his way maybe?
So we do have a reserve team after all?
Yep it’s called Ilkeston, see Patrick for details.
Let people take their own steak & kidney pie sandwiches, cheesy salted prawn crisps and flasks of bovriloxo.
It’ll not make any money but think of all the hassle saved.Should stop complaints about the food, unless everyone else is shite at making sandwiches too.

August 8, 2023 at 11:33 am in reply to: Yet another…’what have you been listening today?’ Thread #268758Apparently when Nick toured he insisted on using just the one acoustic guitar and as his songs varied from one tuning to another this involved quite a bit of time retuning between certain songs. This in turn led to quite a bit of frustration in the audience and he used to get quite a bit of heckling at times which upset him as he was quite a sensitive soul. Strange, whenever I saw Neil Young live his acoustic set compromised of half a dozen different guitars on stands in a half circle shape around him, plus a banjo and a piano and pump organ either side of the stage, never missed a beat Neil and he had plenty of banter and stories to tell too which were always well received by the audience. It is an entertainment business after all.
August 7, 2023 at 11:57 pm in reply to: Yet another…’what have you been listening today?’ Thread #268719Can’t believe it will soon be fifty years since we lost Nick Drake, super talented but ultimately a very fragile individual. Played in various tunings and I’m convinced he rarely changed his guitar strings because he had a very dead string sound to his music, beautifully crafted, beautifully written and performed. Such a tragic loss at just twenty six.
Hilton also said in that interview he couldn’t go into too many details because of the impending court case so we can make suggestions all we like, it doesn’t add up to much really. It is a very sad state of affairs for our football club which I’m sure we can all agree on.
Yep in Peterborough Cathedral, as far away from Henry as she could possibly get, in the circumstances.😂
