Surely if he offers the club for the alleged quid he paid for it and leaves the same £60,000 in the bank account it’s probable someone might fancy it, he has to write off the tax bills he settled as another life experience.

Not aware about anything regarding SFFB, the more I hear the more I’m happy to have no involvement whatsoever. Before anybody from there comes on and says I’m not a proper fan, well after 59 years watching the Iron I don’t think I’ll be taking loyalty lessons from anyone regarding our football club thanks.

As you know DM I don’t do social media and nothing I have read on here in recent months regarding our club, it’s chairman or his followers have persuaded me that joining would be a good idea.

Lot of people I speak too think he should be connected to a rope, harsh maybe but people get cranky when something they hold dear is being slowly strangled out of existence.

The whole game from start to end/abandonment was a complete farce as far as the officials were concerned, that ref should not be taking charge of a non league game anytime soon but I’m guessing he will.

Here’s a better game NI, Famous Football Quotes, I’ll kick us off with a classic that may be appropriate very soon, ” Some people are on the pitch they think it’s all over, it is now “.

Good post Jon B, nice to hear those old clubs mentioned and I remember us playing against them all at the OSG in my youth. As a matter of interest is your nickname Sloop 🤔

I won’t mind paying again after a sunny afternoon turned to a monsoon and a football match turned into a pantomime, now where else could you get such entertainment for a £14 concession? I suspect the rerun will be a rather sober affair compared to the original game.

30 billion was lost by Liz Truss in 44 days, you could build a lot of hospitals and council houses with that so people could be treated for illness and housed properly instead of World War 2 airfields.

The Atheltic is a well respected publication and platform not The Daily Mail. No comparison

I’m sure supporters of the Daily Mail would take issue over that DM but I’m sure your aware of the point I was making about journalism in general, not all goody two shoes, I thought it was a fair point to make .

I got your point – pretty sure it was deflection. The same deflecting you’re usually quite vociferous about – particularly Trump and US politics. But I digress. No wish to move off topic.

Well Hilton admitted his fraud and nine months in jail which was accurately reported but he did say he was talking to his lawyers about other issues raised in the reporting so we will have to wait and see about other points particularly about proof of funds etc. As for Trump it’s no comparison, he’s a proven liar over many issues and still denies everything particularly the fact he lost the 2020 election because no evidence of any note has been produced in 63 court cases all over the USA. However you are right we should not digress but I thought I would mention this point for balance. Let’s hope we still have a football club this time next year 🤞

Some very fair and valid points made Siderite, as for journalists wanting to print the truth, have you ever read the Daily Mail? My brother, a former journalist, always said bad news is good news for a journalist, the juicer the shite the better headlines it makes, just saying 🤷

I’m hoping the board are actively involved in seeing the future of the club is secured should Hilton choose to resign, that is the most important take from all this IMO.

Have to say am a little relieved at the outcome but what does seem wrong is that the red card still stands even if its as if the fixture never took place. Surely that isn’t right?

It’s completely right, the game was abandoned due to serious weather conditions late in the game, that doesn’t absolve the Buxton player who flattened Whitehall illegally when the game was still being played in glorious sunshine, get a grip he broke the laws of the game and will face sanction as a result, perfectly correct in every way IMO.
