Enjoy your night out AndyDFC but not too much, 2-1 to the Iron.
Just proves a fruitcake is a fruitcake, wonder if the bears liked the snap when they bit into it?
Could have well played his last game for us, not forced to be fit after 6 weeks with a medial injury.
Had to do a double take when I saw the post heading DM, thought it was an appreciation of Maya Jama.
Start the new lad in every one of the remaining games and give him a real chance to show us what he can do.
We know Beck is a disaster. Bench him.
Make your mind up. You were undermining his pedigree the other day.
Rene is good at playing both ends against the middle, I believe he doesn’t know what he’s on about half the time but it does take up plenty of forum space. Bit like Trump he likes the sound of his own voice whilst talking gibberish most of the time.
As we’ve said all season… there’s no consistency in this league.
Bench Beck.
Can’t see Beck being benched against his former team, it often throws up a goal or a good performance when playing against old associates, best you can hope for Rene is him being subbed, even you will hope he does well if he starts, surely?
What was his xG like?
British Racing Green with whitewall tyres.
Oh yes cass British Racing Green best car colour ever IMO, nowt to do with footy but who cares.
Calling a democratically elected leader a dictator.
I think with both players being young they are bound to make mistakes in some games and I can live with that if the majority of the time they are doing ok. This was mentioned when both players joined about their lack of experience but overall IMO they have done well.

Aye I’m sure WHAM’s reassurances will be cast iron solid and such a comfort to the trusting Matlock faithful.
Nice to see Rose here for the rest of the season and with Coffee Cup presumably signed on a similar deal at least the right back slot is properly covered at last. I’m going for a 0-2 away win and keep the pressure on Chester.
When they’ve finished tinkering with the election process over the next four years I believe certain groups of people won’t get to vote again in the USA
True though isn’t it?
Just been having a mutual “should have, could have” moan with a Mackem mate!
Could’ve been top all season and then f**ked it up with six games to go.
That would have been the worse scenario IMO, we are doing alright as we are.
I know we’re the same age within a week of each other Ironawe but don’t put me in the same bracket as you I’m far from being a doddery old man.
Calm down old man, not good getting too excited at your age.
Trump is now dissing Zelensky openly in press conferences and lying about his approval rating with the Ukrainian people, he’s a dictator himself and won’t quit till Putin comes out of all this smelling of roses, it’s disgusting.
Fantasist, narcissist, felon.
You know your describing Trump don’t you DM it’s just not Sherbet.
I think awaywego’s just bitter about missing out on a few trips to Gainsborough before the club folded leaving more Saturdays to spend with ”er indoors’
We know Awaywego’s agenda, he craves attention and back in the seventies he got it by running down the street on away days shouting Iron Iron and punching and kicking anyone who got in his way. These days as an old man he can’t fight anymore so he gobs off rubbish on here to get attention, best ignored if truth be told.
Wonder what plans they have for the site when the club folds?

Cam looked impressive coming off the subs bench Saturday didn’t he,not, gone backwards and now downwards.
I don’t think we were hanging on for grim death Saturday, I thought we managed the game out very well but we all see things differently I guess.

Not yet confirmed as fact as reported:-
“The controversial Nottingham businessman, David Hilton – former owner of Scunthorpe United and one-time chairman of Ilkeston Town – is rumoured to be the unnamed backer of Matlock Town.”Was referring to WHAM’S crooked past Cass, arrows on his suit and all that jazz.

Business Desk doing it’s job which is to report the facts, if people still trust WHAM after reading the facts then they are beyond help IMO.

The only grass that was greener with Hilton was the pitch.
Absolutely, rather strange how with better genuine owners it’s now turned to sand, buckets and spades, ice cream and candy floss come to mind.
February 16, 2025 at 8:40 pm in reply to: Yet another…’what have you been listening today?’ Thread #299092Went to see the Dylan biopic “Complete Unknown” the other night.
Not a huge Dylan fan but thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else been?
Yep went a couple of weeks back and I thought Timothee Chalamet was excellent as Dylan, liked the music as it was portrayed and fitted the times the film was covering IMO. Monica Barbaro and Edward Norton were also very good and despite a couple of misrepresentations about events in the time line ( most biopics do that ) I thought it was a good representation of what went on in those times. Nice to see Chalamet had spent a lot of time getting Bobs early guitar playing just about right too, that was important to me as a follower of his style when I began playing 53 years ago.
We all want our players to do well especially strikers.
I am only telling it as I see it, Beck came here with a 1 in 7 goal ratio. That said his game was more of a provider or creater for others.
I have not seen anything to convince me he can create or provide or that he was worth paying money for.
He created two opportunities for Beestin and Robert’s in the first half, it’s not Becks fault they both failed to make the best of them.
Should have been a one horse race!
Shoulda woulda coulda are the last words of a fool, according to Beverley Knight.
More closer and as a result more exciting race than last season, it’s going down to the wire as they say and we are very much involved and looking as strong as any other side in the chase.

Thought them pushing on late in the game gave us more opportunities up front which Mo and Carlton looked to exploit with their pace in behind but Scarborough did not play that way when Beck was on the pitch so the comparison between the three isn’t an equal one IMO. The main thing to take away is that all three players mentioned affected the game when they were on the pitch and as a result we won.

Top bin from Harry Green. 2-1 and clinging on now.
It’s all about opinions but in mine we were never clinging on.
Sensible game management, every player got a run out and in truth why chase a game you are winning, let’s be right we should have won by several goals more but chances were not taken and their only notable effort all game was the excellent free kick for the goal. Why people bang on about what might or could have happened is beyond me, we won and were never really under the pressure that Brackley put us under late on the other week, shut up moaning and take the win FFS.
