To clarify, I was not saying he should have a lifetime ban, just making the point that our democracy does not prevent a proven liar making a return to Parliament.

Secondly, I was suggesting he could be a future PM, more likely for a new party rather than the Tories.

I usually like threads that meander into different areas, but I did take exception to bringing “Uncle Joe, Hunter Biden and Hilary” into a discussion that is about Johnson’s lies.

As for left vs right you didn’t mention Trump or Netanyahu, but you did provide a list of Democrats only.

The claims that this is great for democracy are a bit premature in my opinion. A good day for accountability yes, but there is still a vote on Monday to get through. Will Sunak and the other Cabinet ministers cast a vote?

Johnson could form a new party next week with or without Farage and get re-elected. The recommendation was for a 90 day ban not a life ban.

Still think he will be PM again in my lifetime, which might not be too far in the future! Would that be a great day for democracy? (meaning Johnson’s re-election and not my demise).

Johnson’s attacks on Jenkin shows what a total scumbag he is. What Jenkin did or didn’t do has sod all to do with the lies Johnson told.

“Hi Heath. I don’t think you read Deerey’s post”.

I did, unless it wasn’t clear enough my response was to your post!

This is about democracy but it’s more about truth. Lies.

The truth about Biden, Clinton etc. doesn’t really have anything to do with the lies told by Johnson.

As for whether I dislike you, I don’t know you so couldn’t give a toss. You don’t need to strike the correct notes on my behalf.

“Also looking forward to Uncle Joe and Hunter and Hilary being brought out”..

What has that got to do with Jonhnson?

If it is relevant, you missed Netanyahu off your list.

I am sure that she will want to focus all her time and energy on serving her constituents and the best interests of the country like she has always done.

Apart from the time she went and was voted off immediately on I’m a Celebrity…..

Apart from the millions of pounds of public money she wasted on an ideological crusade, opposed by 98% of those consulted, to privatise Channel 4. Plans immediately ditched by her successor….

Apart from the time she spends on GMTV slagging off her party leader…

Ric Grech did good work with Family before Blind Faith and with Traffic after. But as you say, he was another who died very young.

You started the thread BPG. Thought you might have some thoughts of your own to add to the discussion. Seems you have nothing other than your usual blind faith.

“Your untruths are scattered throughout your monologues,Gurnelista.Your Marxist ideology shines through ,your anti-Christianity even more so. Your statements are sprinkled with personal unsubstantiated claims.Things never change with your posts.”

Good effort, but you failed to provide any examples to support your view.

You asked several questions, but have failed to provide any answers.

My guess is that they voted to leave the European Union. In case you missed it, we have.

“Neo- Marxist to the extreme, believing in a woke, critical theory,anti- Christian “worldview”.”

Countyfile, Antiques Roadshow, 10 Pound Poms.

Hardly 3 hours of critical theory neo-marxist TV is it?

“As someone who sits firmly in the middle, I am always amazed by some of the comments by people who obviously know very little”.

I’m amazed by how you connected the 2 parts of the sentence together. Do only people who sit firmly in the middle know when people know very little?

I agree with that comment, but then they would be accused of being anti Government by the Tories. They do it all the time and are wrong. The thread shows it’s a difficult job being a BBC editor.

The article you posted seems to be a factual informative piece about the planned strike with comments from all sides. And I’m a Union and Labour Party member.

I bet he can’t give a clear set of reasons why it was a good idea, without abusing the French and the Germans.

Might be why they have the same problem coming up with a single positive now that Brexit has “got done”.

Maybe JI can help him out.

You don’t want to rejoin, I do.

You want a healthy forum (whatever that means), I prefer an edgy forum (whatever that means).

You don’t know me, I don’t know you.

    You take offence, I don’t.

You are wrong, I am right!

Mockery? Just pointing out the point that you have loads of friends who wouldn’t vote to rejoin is hardly the point is it?

I’m optimistic we will rejoin for the points IA makes about the young, but I don’t expect the result to be 100% yes!

“I know loads of people who wouldn’t vote to re join”.

Very convincing, the old Bucks argument of I know some people. Cancel all the opinion polls, JI knows loads of people.

“Shh! Don’t tell LK but our children and grandchildren will be campaigning to rejoin the EU”.

The majority that voted leave would like closer ties with Europe, including, it seems Fansy.

Not aware that we have ever kowtowed to the Germans and the French. We never joined the Euro and Mrs T negotiated opt outs. All thrown away by the Brexiteers.

They should be aiming to work together, but as Sidey says, not able to reach local agreement. More reason you should vote Labour so they aren’t relying on others.
