I think Carlton deserves another start now his tail is up, whether Wreh is okay to start or not.

    “1. FITZSIMONS 7 mostly untroubled.”

Except for 2 excellent saves at 0-0 which almost certainly changed the game IMO, from 2-0 down would we have taken 3 points?
    Very unfair, a definite 10.

I’d go ‘9’ tbf. Think I missed one of those saves

Beck still didn’t look any more effective on the goal scoring front Rene, but he did a very good job regardless IMO. Ball hold up, tackles, general nuisance and physicality against a big and nasty side.

Fair assessment I think. Probably 7 for Roberts for me. Didn’t mention Federa. Not at his best when he came on. Nearly cost us with a clanger but it was snuffed out in the end.

    1. FITZSIMONS 7 mostly untroubled.
    4. KOUOGUN 7 solid before his injury.
    5. EVANS 8 won so many headers.
    7. CLUNAN (C) 7 solid, marshalled the midfield well.
    10. ROBERTS 8 Dangerous, caused alsorts of problems.
    11. ROWLEY 7 did everything he needed to.
    14. UBAEZUONU 9 MOTM goal and an assist.
    19. BECK 8 Best I’ve seen him play, excellent hold up play 2nd half.
    20. SCALES 8 really well suited to playing in a 3 man midfield.
    33. DENTON 7 unspectacular, did everything he needed to
    37. ROSE 8 Solid at the back. Excellent Assist for the 1st goal.

Yep, liked that. A satisfying rather than enjoyable watch, though the goals were cracking. Well crafted and taken by Carlton and Scales. Stubborn in defence. Much better second half and apart from the chance they should have scored from the rebound, didn’t really trouble us too much. Really handy having Beck today. More than dealt with the physicality. Some flick ons could have been better but he was a proper handful and retained possession well. Looked solid and up for it tonight. Managed the game well throughout. Delighted. Particularly with Brackley drawing. Just listening to Butler being interviewed. Lol, Sex Pistols on Bill Grundy moment.

Feels like a huge match the closer it gets to KO. Hope the players are totally up for the challenge.

Great stuff and a good listen. I’ll be ordering a copy. Never knew Nic was once a bus conductor either.

Some younger folk have told me the line up so far is not as bad as I think it looks. Maybe hope for it after all.

Plenty still critical of Beck. Is it justified?

Facebook Group update. 5 new posts in 24 hours and a picture of grit and vomit in a tub. I blame their Mods.

Just had a browse on the Facebook Group. About four threads in the lsst 24 hours. One of them 14 hours ago asking what time the bar opens today which illicited two replies. Most Iron themed platforms are quiet recently.

    If “we’d” have abstained for a further 1 hour & 13 minutes – it’d have been 48 hours since a post.

TBF Rene, I think you’re responsible for creating at least 50% of new threads and rehashing countless others. Are you in Bru semi retirement?

    Perhaps we’ve burnt ourselves out?
So many ups & downs, twists & turns… it’s being exhausting.
We’re all hoping we are champions but I doubt if anyone is confident enough to put their shirt on that outcome.

Limbo. Bring on the denouement. Get out of purgatory.

    As for it being a slow week, some things that might be factors;

Nothing much on-field or off to moan about
    Butler Outists quietened
    Not much club activity reported
    Not much intrigue, gossip, rumour
    Burner accounts quiet
Time of the season – waiting for the final run in
Weather improved – washing to put out, gardening to be done
Bad reception in our nuclear bunkers
    Not arsed with life generally…

He also mentioned having serious eye problems a year or so ago so it might be that?
