You make it out as if “experts” at the club are always right, when they clearly aren’t. It was “experts” at the club that decided Jamie Vardy wasn’t worth signing. It was “experts” at the club that decided Charlie Goode was rubbish and sold him for peanuts, same with Cam Burgess (both went on the play in the Premier League). “Experts” at the club decided not to replace Matt Gilks and go with Rory Watson as no.1…that turned out a good decision didn’t it? They’re not infallible. But I’d still put faith in those at the club who work with players day in day out over supporters who don’t work with them and who’ve never worked at a professional level. Unless the current management aren’t performing and aren’t up to it, but I don’t think evidence shows that’s the case.

How is a well placed chipped cross to the far post to an unmarked Alfreton player Campbell’s fault? What actually happened last night? Did one or two supporters out of the small amount there text someone it was Campbell’s fault, and someone posted it on X and others not there jumped in to fit their narrative? More than plausible based on video evidence. If he’s at fault, where do suggest he should have been positioned? If anything, blame defenders for having no one on the goalscorer. Based on the footage I’m not bloody surprised neither the Iron or Alfreton socials picked out this phantom error!

There were some of us that were told we were living in cloud cuckoo land for suggesting we’d finish higher than mid table last season, possibly getting promoted. We were ridiculed in fact by so called experts who wrote a lot of words about it.

The problem with option 1 (not a problem for me) is a vocal online majority are adamant he shouldn’t be given the time. Some are going as far as insulting the lad, and using it as an excuse to hit Butler with.

I understand and appreciate the concern. It’s the reaction that’s unfair on the lad and stifling his growth that I question.

Most ridiculous reaction on social media last night was the claim of cover up on SUFC X regarding Alfreton’s goal. Were Alfreton in on the conspiracy too?:

One thing’s for sure – he’s not been given a fighting chance, so it’s difficult to judge how well he might perform in future competitive matches due to the impact of the doubters. He’s been court martialed by social media.

Aye, and fans, particularly a swath of our online contingent are quick to jump on the blame bandwagon. Admittedly, I haven’t seen him in pre-season friendlies yet, but how many supporters involved in the social media pile-on do you think have actually seen him in those games? Some of you lot have written him off already. What’s that doing for his confidence? No offence, but you’ve hardly got a good track record of being right.

Watched the clip from a few angles on slow mo. All I can see is a melle involving Enrique and Pedro along with others. Enrique seems to reach out and push Pedro (not even sure he makes contact). Pedro goes down holding his face. Not condoning players or coaches getting involved in this type of thing but it’s far removed from ‘Enrigue punches Pedro in face!’ hysteria on social media
