I read 5-6 posts on the thread. I didn’t witness the incident so didn’t comment. The thread was removed. You’ve made your views clear about the length of time the thread was live. What more is there to say? If Neil wants to say anymore about the situation I’m sure he can on his Twitter account.
Nice to hear from you smartm. Where in the UK or Australia are you from originally, out of interest? You’re right about the Millwall play off final on TV. It was an experience and a half being there before during and after the match, some unpleasant stuff but also some ecstatic moments, but I love watching the whole match again. It’s got everything. Might even do that again soon.
‘Why should the protesters be bothered if they don’t intend going anymore’
Have they said they don’t intend attending after their protest?
Top first game that!

‘First crew to take the Donny road end. Very happy days.’
And you have a pop at Bobby G for making a sarcy comment about Grimsby possibly being promoted and me liking it? 😆👏

You seem to be talking to yourself awaywego.
Regarding the thread you say has disappeared – I suppose you could always email Matt direct and ask him about it?1 user thanked author for this post.
It’s pointless taking Burnley’s population in isolation as 88k. Connected to it along a corridor there’s Nelson, Brierfield and Colne which have around 60k. Padiham is a few miles out and has 10k. So in a sort of ‘Greater Burnley’ you’re talking a population of 158k.
5 years before my time but I’ve gotta ‘thank’ that haven’t I 😆
Yes, you did. That aside, I couldn’t care less if they’re promoted or not. I only take rivalry so far. You may not. Your choice. I have good mates who are Grimsby amd Hull fans. It’s not a crime you know.

I’m all for peaceful protest but I’m struggling to see how a centre circle sit in will make any difference now. Earlier this year it may have had more impact, but now? Not convinced.

April 20, 2022 at 1:54 pm in reply to: Les – The Guy Who Attempts Optimism Until Reality Finally Kicks In. #236118Agree with that IA. However we also desperately need a striker or two who are capable at this new level or we’re going to be faced with similar problems as this season. If that’s not addressed we’re in big trouble. That’s going to cost as they’ll realistically need to be L2 standard (I.e. Madden quality). Our glorious owner won’t fork out so that leaves us with little hope I’m afraid.

Not like you to take things the wrong way on here awaywego 😛

May have been mentioned already but the 2003 FA Cup replay at Hillsborough was a special night. A big turnout, delirious at the end of the shootout.
The rogue water sprinkler at Kidderminster in mid 2000’s midweek match. May have been pre-match or half time. It changed direction and soaked a large contingent of home fans before they could escape. Farcical funny.
It is possible to have a civil and meaningful conversation with our biggest rivals without resorting to playground talk.

Are we doing fancy dress Deerey which woman celeb will you go as?
Diane Abbott or a Greenham Common protester. Just a few for the misogynists and racists that prowl these shores 😁

I can’t see any reason in the above exchanges or a few others why Matt would feel inclined to bring back the non-footy side. Just sayin…

‘Can’t for the life of me think why any Scunny fan would want to see our nearest rivals promoted under any circumstances,’
It was a joke, a bit of ironic humour. Simple as that.

Need a big promotional drive to get more women along.

Lee’s already earned my respect staying in the pub with you for so long awaywego! Did you get on to feminist issues at any point?

I thought Scunny fans were the worst in the country for shouting at their own players?

Geoff ‘awaywego’ Boycott?

Yes, but don’t forget Leeds and Forest are Champions of Europe. According to their fans who seem stuck in a time warp
‘Swann should be the one writing the statement’. May have escaped your attention but Swann has stepped down as Chair and Turnbull is now Acting Chair and COO. But you’re not trolling are you, so I guess you need to catch up UTI99 🤣

‘Jackson’s free kick at the end away at hull to steal it 0-1’. Love it!!

Another vivid not best memory; just about making it over snake pass in a blizzard to Edgeley Park, then all getting massively bollocked by Ron Ashman for chanting ‘Ashman Out!’ and only just making it back over the Pennines. What a cold shit night that was!

Was he in a rush? Said more to awaywego yesterday!
With Swann we’re just passing through the National. We’re like ships in the night Capt. At least your ship is being steered properly now. Good luck to you.

Remember being in the press box at Millwall when we beat them 2-1 (?) in midweek around 2000? Can’t remember the exact year but Justin Walker was playing and had a good game. It all got a bit tense when I cheered our winner and had a load of Millwall fans giving me daggers. First and only experience of witnessing a Laws post match interview afterwards. Didn’t have a clue what he was babbling on about and I don’t think the Millwall press could understand a word. They were really bitter about losing.
