Looking forward to seeing how the new lads play and integrate. Enjoying seeing Hilton get on with things communicating with supporters, seizing income generation opportunities and addressing squad size. It is indeed a stark contrast to where we were a few weeks ago. It’s a funny old game.

I was expecting us to be able to attract the very best as a club in the National league relegation spots. Disgraceful! :-)

Just qualifying Siderite’s post as sarcasm before any abuse starts! 🤣

Mike White reckons we are trying to sign Rhys Murphy from Southend, used to be a decent striker at this level.

Southend don’t want to release Rhys according to Hilton:

Be nice if the last of the 7 is a marquee signing. Saving the best till last?

Looks like the new owner isn’t one to be missing chances to bring in extra revenue. Positive start in that regard alone.

Might be one I’m interested in coming back to at some point at a later date once time has passed and we know more detail about the takeover process, if we ever do.

‘I guess that’s the last we’ll ever hear from UTI99 then!’

Something about the timing when UTI99 announced retirement from Bru. Had a pretty cordial relationship with UTI99, as long as you weren’t aggressive or dished out abuse, dialogue could be had. We agreed on virtually nothing mind.

‘I’m on the same wavelength as you Deerey, excited for the future but will be questioning decisions along the way.’

Be crazy not to wouldn’t it. I don’t buy in to this, ‘it’s his money, he can do as he pleases’ stance. He will do as he pleases of course, but hopefully the supporters are taken along the journey more than with the previous custodian and he’s less prickly regarding scrutiny of business matters. In the meantime, like everyone else, looking forward to see who’s coming in and maybe start getting a sense of a strategy developing.

I think it’s fair to say the playing side has been underfunded for the past four seasons, perhaps the new owner is trying to redress the balance but there could well be staff cuts coming elsewhere.

A sensible post I-A. We shall see. Interesting times for sure.

I thought people were salivating the other day about the wage bill potentially being cut? Are players on the way out then? Maybe I’m being over cautious? Again, just legitimate questions. No more, no less.

‘Deerey your talking as though we have a great team and being playing well all season.’ I’m not but not surprised you’ve interpreted it like that. Par for the course. Anyhow, we’ll see what, who, and what sort of contracts won’t we

Indeed. Wonder what sort of contracts they’re getting? All will be revealed I guess. We definitely need new players. Is 7 too many in one go though? More often than not, a sudden influx of new faces doesn’t guarantee instant success. And where does it leave the lads who have stepped up to the plate recently? Before any clappers start having a pop, these are legitimate questions any Iron supporter should be considering.

I’d be interested to know who’s identified these players and how. Seems like a quick analysis of what’s needed has taken place and players identified, either with the current coaching and management team (now including Dean) or has Turnball already had them identified? See who they are I guess.

Announced on Companies House page – Ms Mayo has resigned as a director as of 31st Jan 2023.

Nearly all of the old guard gone now.

Good to see that. Intrigued to see who is joining the new Board.
