Hot shot DeGirolamo joins the Gladiators
Matlock Town are pleased to announce the signing of striker Diego DeGirolamo from Buxton FC. Diego, who has played for the likes of Sheffield United and Chesterfield, joined Buxton in 2018 and has played a major part in their success, scoring 120 goals in 229 appearances for the Bucks. The powerful centre forward will add a real threat to the Gladiators’ front line for the 25/26 season.
    Welcome to the Gladiators, Diego!

Just a hint of familiarity here?

That massive slump we had when Butler was stuck on play 5 at the back is the main reason. How many points did we drop in that period ?

3 successive 1-0 away defeats when playing a back 4 didn’t help. Maybe a back 5 would have given us a couple of draws?

Looks like 7 subs allowed in these play offs so no excuse not to have a keeper on the bench.

Quality of merchandise aside, I don’t think many were happy with the treatment Merch Labs received after their previous terrific support.

Will the offers to the OOCs we want to keep depend on which league we’re in or will that not matter to the board?
Who will decide who we want to try and keep?
Who will be doing the contract negotiations?

Cannot wait for the play off semi, I have been invited up to watch…and why not?
Guaranteed ticket for 2 people,(will have to bring the wife) overnight stay, and a restaurant meal after the game, all from two Scunthorpe friends i made watching a couple of away games!…. thats how fans should respect each other, no hatred, plenty of banter, and a barrow load of respect.
Just the way I would treat any Scunny fan at Ilkeston!

Ypu should let the club know Patrick, they might ask you to be the guest speaker before the game. It usually involves a Q&A session which could be interesting plus you could check out the pre-match catering.

No not at all but time moves on what is the point of complaining your not going change it

No complaints, just comments, history has a habit of repeating itself. You’re right, history is not going to change, but the knowledge of history could maybe prevent a repeat.

Butler still gets a pass mark from me if we win the playoffs.

All but a very few will say aye to that.

The comments are understandable though. We have some of the best players in this league and the strongest squad in the league. What we don’t have is the best manager. For clarity, I think he’s done OK, but “could/must do better” is a fair assessment.

Whilst I understand your frustration, we created enough chances at KL to have (undeservedly) won the game.

Location could also be a factor, Roberts is NE based so I reckon it would take a substantial offer to tempt him much further south.

Or whether our lower wage structure offer is better or close to Gateshead et al.
Similar situation for the other OOCs I’d have thought.

“HEREFORD boss Paul Caddis said his side will ‘attack’ their final league game of the season on Saturday when they welcome third placed Scunthorpe.”

Not meaningless to them then. If Butler decides to attack it could be a good watch.

WHAM time away from football didnt last long did it ??

Isn’t this now his fourth attempt at seizing control of a Club (including Ilkeston)? You have to ask yourself: What exactly is it that he wants?

That is a very good question.
