Well done guys, a good point today, and it will be all the more important with wins in our next two matches, my draw forcast was correct even though it turned out 0-0 instead of 1-1.
Keith Hill swwms to have got a big improvement to the treams performances, and with three good signings in January, things could be ok. I just cannot see why Loft was selected, he was hopeless once again, and he must be dumped in January if not before, Scrimshaw should always come before Loft, and I still think Hackney is worth his place.
You did right Awaywego, if they cannot use a bit of sense, you must try and sort situations like that out yourself, kids must be looked after, and to sheet off many seats and heard everyone into a small area is bloody stupid and dangerous.

Another 1-1 draw, but as Cass says, Pools narrow win last game followed five straight league losses, so they can be beaten, but I forcast a 1-1 draw, followed by good wins against Bristol Rovers and at Oldham, and being a top predictor tha I am, just see these come up!!
Now I see BS was playing a game of 2 halfs.
Yes, MK Iron, it got sent before finishing for some reason, but finished it five mins later, so please do not be too hard on me pal, it’s only a forum and I am too old to get every thing right, or should I say anything right ha ha!
Watson had little to do apart from pick the ball out of the net and watch some late shots flash wide. Did nothing wrong though and good to see him back from his injury.
For all that we’ve improved, and we have, we’re still crap. We dominated that game but never created the chances to win it. Loft was even more anonymous than Green, surely that has to be one of his last games in a Scunthorpe shirt?
I thought that Watson cut out many crosses cleanly, whereas their keeper dropped our three crosses, one resulting in our goal, but we have nothing up front have we? Watson will certainly do for me, but we need to start cutting out these five changes every match.

HIPPOLYTE—8–My MOM tonight, played very well although dropped a bit too deep last 20 mins.
ROWE—6—Did ok.
JARVIS—5—Did nothing really, wanted subing.
PUGH—5—Played hard, but took his 6th booking.Loft—4—Did absolutely nothing, should have stayed on the bench.
REF—8—Good ref.
Hill—7–The team certyainly looked fiter, and fought well, but although lucky at times, should have beaten a poor Stevenage team, but could so easily have lost it.
Next three games are vital, but we must win a couple of them!!!
PITCH—9—The grass looked so good for December.
This would have been a good point, if only we could win a home game for a change, one good thing being that both the other two teams near us both lost 0-1, which gives us 15 points, Oldham 15 points and Carlisle 16 points, and Stevenage and Barrow not too far in front of us three, but we must win a few matches, we cannot rely on the other tewams losing every week.
My ratings for tonight are:-
WATSON—8—Had a good game once again and the defence in front of him were dodgy
MILLEN—6—Too many poor passes.
O’MALLEY—6— Did ok.
TAFT–4–Had a very poor game, and caused too much trouble in our third of the pitch.
ONARIASE–7—Played well as usual.
GREEN—5—Went off injured again, fast but no real threat up front.
BEESTIN—6—Started well but faded second half.
HIPPOLYTE–8—My MOM1 user thanked author for this post.
I feel that we could get the three points on Tuesday night, Stevenage are a very poor team like ourselves, and at least they were in the second round of the FA Cup whereas we never seem to get past round one.
But the points are there for the taking, and our next four league games are all against pottom half of league 2 teams, so Keith kick the players arses into gear and select your best team, which does not include Loft, but you will know this after the short time that you have been here, and get young Wilson on the bench, and bring him on for the last 20 mins.
So go for the 3 points which I am sure that you will do, and lets get out of the bottom two places.
Supporters either rate players and enjoy watching them, or they just accept what is put in front of them, players that I rated were Wootton, Hopper, Goode, McAtee and Kanavan Sutton whilst I thought that Novak, Howard, Green, Hippolyte and Loft were never ever going to be favourites of mine and nothing can change thast view of mine.
Loft is not, and never will be a player that is good enough to hold down a league 2 place in any team, he has been shite, but now that he has the strop on, he does not even appear to be trying. Basicly, he cannot control a football, he cannot find a fellow team player with a pass, and last but most importantly he cannot finnish with a goal, either with his head or his feet, so he is not worth a place even in our teaM, Scrimshaw and Jarvice are better players.
Do not hold on to him if the unlikely fact that any team comes in for him, pay for a taxi and get rid.

The players input of effort has gone up beyond belief since Keith Hill took charge, and I would think that a lot of Cox (nice guy) supporters have had a change of mind, he should have been fired last January, he hadn’t got a bloody clue with Football League management, and it is very doubtful he will get another job in football.
The strong winds controlled today game, and the two halves reflected this fact, but whereas a few weeks ago we would have probably have lost 1-3, today the lads fought until the final whistle, well done management and players. It was so nice that Loft was not playing, he has no ball control, cannot pass a ball, and lastly has no idea how to hit the net.
Our next four games against Stevenage, Hartlepool, Bristol and Oldham are all winable matches, and all being in the bottom half of the league, so even more vital in moving out of the bottom two positions. So well done guys, keep putting the effort in, and things could change for the better in January, if Tom Gosneys radio talk had any reflection on things. Ten points from those next four games will get a lot of us missing supporters back.

Cliff, I thought that O’Hara was our man of the match, he dealt well with all those crosses and a couple of one on one’s, I wouldn’t think that Watson will be too eiger to declare himself fit for Saturdays game!!, whilst on about Goal Keepers is was great to see that fellow relegation tean Carlisle signed Howard on about seven games ago, six have been defeats.
Alkazar, you ask if Hill is the answer, there is no manager on earth that can do anything with this verypoor squad, they are non-league standard, and I do not rate them as National League, they would be relegated even in that league.
It should and could have been 1-6, 1-7, 1-8 tonight, so hold back on your opinion of Hill, whoever contributed to forming this squad, be it Cox, Swann jun or Acunny Bunny, they should stay away from football management.O’HARA—8—Played very well an will probably never have so much to do again.
MILLEN—7–Thought he did very well tonight.
TAFT—5—Centre of defence was wide open.
ONARIASE–6 -Same comment as Taft, but one mark better.
O’MALLEY—5—Probably should have stayed on and Thompson subbed.
BEESTIN—7—Worked very hard tonight, should start games as said before.
KENYON—5—Did not see a lot from him in a poor midfield.
PUGH—5—Gives too many fouls away in attacking positions, not very good.
THOMPSON–4—Unimpreddef by him, beaten too easily, and poor passer.
JARVIS–4–Had a good first 15 mins, then nothing, very poor up front.
LOFT–3–He gets worse, cannot pass, no ball control and cannot shoot, rubbish!!SUBS—7–Livened the team up a bit, and Scrimshaw must be selected instead of Loft, and Thompson is not good, but where is young Wilson, he is not even on the bench, he should be brought on for the last 20 mins at the least.
REF—8 Very good ref and linesmen.
MANAGER—7—What the hell can anyone do with this lot, we should have been slaughtered tonight, but stole a point when the other two teams Carlisle and Oldham both lost, but Saturday against Bradford is going to be just as difficult, and Levi Sutton scored again tonight.
SUPPORTERS–8—They really are hardened fans. or possibly head cases right now for still being sat as the final whistle went.

I cannot see why no one has included young Wilson in their suggested teams, and it looks really a waste of time having three centre forwards because they are all rubbish.
Mansfield outplayed our lot on Saturday, but I am affraid Leyton are a far better team than Mansfield. If we lose again tonight it is about curtains, because a gap has opened up above the three bottom teams, and if it gets much more that five points, we have no chance of catching any of them, just look at how many games it has taken Scunny to score six points!!!
The club have about five forwards on their books, but not one of them is worth a toss, and for Loft to be classed as one is crazey, he cannot direct a shot on target, and that penalty he took the other week which went 6 foot wide, is a prime example, he is rubbish.
Keith must be thinking, how can a football league team be as bad as SUFC !!!.
It looks as though it is the same as last season when there were three terrible teams at the bottom, Grimsby, Southend and ourselves, this year is going to be the same with Oldham, Carlisle and us again, so its a toss up which two go down, and this time we may not be so lucky.

The answer is more likely to be that Stockport never accepted defeat, and even attacked when losing, drawing or winning, not like our pathetic lot under Cox, who did not know how to win, our record prooves it fully.
This was great to watch, and would certainly put a few bums on seats if we ever played like that, but we never get any Cup runs together, so lets just dream of what could be. If we face the truth, I think that our club is about finished, even under Keith Hill, the rot has set in too deeply, and presently, we have no league players, no money and losing cash every week, we have lost 40% of our supporters, and rooted to the bottom of League 2, and have this embargo of the Football Leagues hung round our necks, so Mr Keith you have some task ahead of you, and just hope that you manage it. The big problem is that if by some means we do stay in the Football League, how the hell is next season going to be any different????????

Cox should have been sacked last November, after the disasterous start to the season when he took charge, his first three months in charge read L D D W L L L L L L L L including being knocked out of the FA Cup at home to Solihull Moors. And he was even retained for this season were his record is not a lot better. A few of us kept harping on about this Cox guy, whilst many others came back with “he is a nice man and local” or that he has been left with these poor players, well he didn’t bring in any world beaters did he.
But now we have a mqanager in charge who I feel will sort things out rather than hide behind problems, all the above was so obvouse, but why did Swann let it happen?????
So give Keith a few weeks to knock this lot into shape, and I hope we will look back in anger of what has happened to our club.

It was good to see the better movement and passing, and for the first hour we played some good football. I thought that Hackney was possibly our MOM, but the team appeared to run out of steam during the last 20 mins, and Salford spent far too much time in the Scunthorpe third of the pitch.
I would love to see young Wilson on the bench, and brought on for this latter 20 mins when others are flagging, how Jarvis failed to score when the ball came back off the inside of the post God knows. This manager has started to put his stamp on things, it is a pity Swann left it so long with Cox in charge, and it appears that a lot of the players are very unfit, so when Cox kept saying they trained well during the week, what was he looking at?
It wasn’t a bad game watched on i-follower, and it might just tempt me back into attending shortly, it was certainly a lot better than usual, and if Keith can get some leg work into some of them, who knows!!!

Most of the travellers have more right to be here than these drop outs that are invading our shores, but try telling some people on here, and you know what they will call you:- you are allowed one guess!!!!!

Now thats a nice friendly report Iron-awe, must make you feel better than wishing me dead, I think those two posts of yours strayed from whay you was supposed to have said, but in my opinion they were certainly of much worst taste than being called a racist.
These law abiding traveller’s come along in lovely caravan’s pulled along by expensive cars what I want to ask is where do they get all the money from to pay for these luxuries. You don’t see them going to work every day do you. How do they support there families?
They relay peoples drive ways, cut corners and only do half a job, and all cash is tax free, Iron-awe will explain how that works, he seems to know all about our tax laws.
I would accept any verbal abuse whether it be racist, sexist, gay or trans, than have someone shit at the entrance to my house and garden.
That is being rather selfish awaywego, they have to shit somewhere mate, and what better place than Scunthorpe, you are too pickey, you often take the piss out of people, so to be fair, you must accept their other mess.
I do believe it is McMahon and Muzzy today, as they have been taking training all week.
On this occasion the right thing to do. Best wishes to them. Certainly looks a team with more pace at the back.
Maybe pace at he back Sanfran, but absolutely nothing up front, the captain was injured during warm up prior to the start, Bunn who has been out injured all season lasted 21 mins before again going off injured, Loft cannot hit an open goal, but keeps his place because of the others being just as bad, how can things get better with the forwards we have on the books.
It’s OK supporters staying away and it is your decision, but if you stay away and come on here boasting about not coming and the club folded just remember you helped with the demise, I agree with the reasons like the chairman over the last 3 years and the dire football and negative tactics but if the club folded and the club restarted we would be playing Brigg and Barton OB or no club at all and then the owner could recoup his money on development of other projects.
Mick—-I cannot agree with your description of missing fans coming on this forum boasting about not attending, boasting is completely the wrong word pal, because it is the first season in 71 years that I have not attended every home match that has been available for, yes I missed many games when working overseas, but even planned my home leaves after consulting the fixture list. But to use the word boasting Mick, I spend many hours hurting when things are going really bad for Scunny, and complain rather than boast about things that I think are the reasons for the clubs terrible place we find them in right now.
The negative boring, defensive rubbish is the problem, and Cox was the main but not only reason for this, I am exactly the same as “forgoyyen” regarding my reason for not attending, and just the same, I will be one of the first to return when or if things change, and with this new manager things sound to be moving in the right direction. Regarding the money side of things, last season cost me £460 in i-follower fees instead of my £220 season ticket, and I have and will continue paying this season, that is when clubs can be bothered to show them, but I made the choice to not renew my season ticket of 13 years for the sole reason of the entertainment no longer being present at GP, and I really hope it soon changes, so not boasting Mick, but entertainment and enjoyment not being present at the moment is my reason!!!!

So this appointment seems to be going down well with Scunny fans, that is a good start, and if he can sort out the players that are never going to contribute, either by being crocked continuously or are simply never ever going to be league footballers, that will be a good start, and will also allow Keith scope to bring in a few players in Jan, it is pointless keeping these players on, and would be better to either pay them off or come to some kind of financial agreement with them.
Mr Swann has let supporters down very badly over the past three seasons, and possibly even longer than that, so it is up to him to sort things out with the new manager, with things like this EFL loan and embargo the club has, make a bit of cash available to Keith and let him bring in a few players in January, and please do not let these so called scouts get involved, so many very poor players have come into the club from their bad choices.
So with five out of the next six matches being home fixtures, we have chance of a good set of results if Hill can get a bit of sorting out done, it will help now Cox and Lillis have vanished, ten months too late, but they have now gone thank Christ. So go for it guys and lets get a bit of pride back into SUFC.
Best of luck Keith, the fans will get behind you I am sure.

If Scunny do OK in the next 2 matches, don’t rule out an extention of McMahon in charge, it has happened a few previous times by Mr Swann.
Just for the record, although being my first season of not attending games for 71 years, I still never received any contact from the club on why I had not renewed my season ticket of 13 years. And again for the record I think that I deserve my say, so one reason was that Cox was still in charge, the second reason being that the attacking football they were to play never got off the ground and football has been boring defensive rubbish for three seasons, and I could not see any reason for it to change, so no need for any contact form, my job is done !!!!!
If things get better and a bit of enjoyment can be seen by attending, I shall be back, UTI.

My £10 is already on us for relegation.
I don’t care if there’s a second coming and JC takes the job.
We’ll need more than one miracle to avoid the drop. What odds did you get Alky, probably about 1/10, giving you £1 profit, not good but if you bet on near certain happenings !
I would like to see Tom Newey as the manager, but doubt he would give uo his job as a teacher to come to Football management, but although an ex-player, I would like to see someone new to the Scunny sceen, but I like to hear Toms assessement of things, although his downfall to me was his praise of Cox, he always had good things to say about him, but football knowledge he seemed spot on.
Cox had enough chances – he was woefully woefully short of anything near competent – even his interviews, whilst refreshing (!) were just soundbites because he lacked the basic football intelligence to talk in more depth about things, my lads….. channels….. pass and move….. trained well… tired legs/leggy. It was all bollocks in the end – he just couldn’t do the job.
And I’m not absolving Swann of the shitshow we find ourselves in. Its just another bad choice from somebody equally lost in football
Today has been a refreshing move by the club by getting rid of Cox and Lillis, neither of them have shown that they have the slightest clue on football management, they might be NICE MEN as many keep saying, but in their time here they have taken the club into new depths. Many supporters will never return after the past 3 seasons of unenjoyable and so boring so called football , but for sure a few hundred will be back to see if things change, if they don’t change it will be the end of league football. How the hell does Mussa keep surviving ???????.
Swann has one more chance to get things right, and I hope that he goes through applicants, and even takes a bit of advice, and keeps away from ex-Scunthorpe Utd connections.
I hope this is a turning point for the club, a good move in getting rid of these two, but sadly it should have been taken last January, when it was so clear that it would never work, and we have fallen fast since then, to the present time of being bottom of the League, and gates down to 2,100. Saturday would be a good time for a win, it would be some change to progress in the FA Cup, or any Cup for that matter, and at home to Donny who have lost all of their seven away matches to date, a real chance for us, so go for it.

When Wharton was Chairman, Directors used to travel to away matches. Do they still?
As for home games, again Directors attended to watch matches and to receive visiting Directors.
These are matters of courtesy for Directors. Do our current Directors continue to offer such politeness? No Inspector, the clutch of Swanns used to attend until this season mate, but when they stopped attending games Peter asked his buddy UTI-99 to stand in for him and meet away directors and tell them how well the club is being run by owners and staff that are doing a great job, he also told the directors that if they had any complaints, it was the Scunny fans to blame!!
