I reckon something like this design listing promotion sides of 1999, 2007 and 2009 could sell well (claret shirt, blue text).
Or this sort of thing…
I might be remembering incorrectly but around the time of Butler’s contract extension Michelle gave an interview where she said that the club was protected by some significant clauses relating to promotion.
I took that to mean that if we didn’t go up then we could part ways with the manager without or at least without much of, a payoff.
I may have dreamt it, I may have misinterpreted it, but it could be that there’s a lot riding on the playoffs for Andy in particular.I doubt that the contract would (effectively) fuck Butler over if we fail to get promotion, but there will be a level of financial protection for the Club in there.
I’d definitely buy a ‘Look at the noise!’ t-shirt
Like all ‘quote’ t-shirts it’d be really important to get it absolutely right, or the idea falls somewhat flat. I’m pretty sure (having watched my tape of Wembley ’99 loads of times, though it’s now lost to time) that Mr Laws said “Just look at that noise”. Happy to stand corrected if someone else has the footage and wants to double-check.

A badge like design that captures an old sponsor like Pleasure Island / Brikenden / Scunthorpe EZ etc that means something only to Iron supporters (i.e makes other fans inquisitive). Bit like this but not as ugly (.e. not a small shirt!)
That’s rubbish but the Subbuteo style one is great.
Technically I think he must indeed have been ‘relieved of his duties’, as he’d signed a contract extension hadn’t he? But he certainly wasn’t sacked for failing to get promoted.

Don’t mind a couple of designs but wouldn’t buy any myself. That said, proof will be in the sales I guess. Something more tasteful to me might sink like a stone!
You’re right. One man’s absolute tat is another man’s should know better.
Just trying to make the point that no clubs that mainly rely on local catchment support has demonstrated they can make money from quality merchandise.
How do you know?
Would be delighted and suitably apologetic if someone proves me wrong.
If people are going to just buy stuff anyway (which they clearly are), why not make it good in the first place? Why not aim a bit higher, get a proper aesthetic vibe going rather than this low level hum.
“JD was relieved of his duties for failing to get promoted”
Nobody ever said that,he was released because he wanted too big a budget wasn’t he?I’m fairly certain there was an interview with Michelle early in the season in which she said Dean had done a presentation to the board but “it was clear we were on different pages” and they parted ways. I’d guess that was around budget.

Are there any examples of a lower league or non league club selling tasteful or stylish merchandise? Not seen any myself.
Does that mean we should just willingly walk into the tat trap?
Want to see: Paul Weller.
Actually seeing: Timmy Mallet.Quality of merchandise aside, I don’t think many were happy with the treatment Merch Labs received after their previous terrific support.
Completely agree. Shoddy.
Just posed a question didn’t realise you’d pose another or perhaps you weren’t answering my point then in which case I will sarcastically move on.
Bit touchy, Iron-Awe!
Well maybe, I just think some people spend so long dwelling on bull shit and negativity they miss the bigger picture, the club needs money raising, not for kids parties or supporter away travel IMO but to actually put in the clubs coffers and I applaud the Iron Trust for trying their best to do that and yes I’m a long term member and yes I fully support their efforts so go Trust, sell as much of that merchandise as you can and I don’t give a flying f*** if their supplier has just been dropped by the club it’s all about the money and the Unity Group or Stu Limited or whatever they are called need to keep to their own funds raising which has raised plenty of questions and allow the Trust the time and space to keep on raising money to purchase as many club shares as possible to give the funds ACTUALLY TO THE CLUB, there you go rant over UTI
I don’t think pointing out that the Trust and Merch Labs getting into bed is a bit of an eyebrow-raiser is being negative.
Agree with you on the Trust raising funds bit. I just wish it was with some stylish merch, not this general tat.
JD was relieved of his duties for failing to get promoted
Or because his salary was a Disney figure dreamed up by Hilton in a coke-stupor.
Whilst munching on a Patprick burger.
After downing a can of Red Bullshitter.
Can’t remember the exact away figures from both home games this season but I thought Lynn brought a reasonable following.
Can’t remember the exact number of away fans for KL on NYE but I think it was a decent enough turnout?

Iron Trust looking to raise money for the club by purchasing shares and they dare use a supplier the club have just discarded to do it, outrageous. Some of you lot need to give your heads a wobble or have I missed the sarcasm here?
No room for the nuance in situations in your world then?
Same here, I thought apathy would kill us tbh.
There will always be people who DGAF about their local football club, and amongst the support there will always be an element that is conditional and comes and goes through the years…
Hoping its KLT but i think Chorley will beat them 2-1
I don’t care either way but if pushed into making a choice I would prefer Kings Lynn, too… Purely based on our home results against both teams earlier in the season.
To be ‘Smoking Goated’ should be common parlance.
Smoking Goat. Steve Guinan.
Smoking Goat, Steve Guinan.
Coincidence? I think we should be told.

.. hes scrambled his way to second
Andy Butler (2024/25): W26 D12 L8
Jimmy Dean (2023/24): W26 D10 L10
Bonkers that our pinnacle up that point vs MK we were only getting 6.5k for a shot at championship.
I think the fact the Club almost disappeared forever has a bit to do with the current numbers – people realising once it’s gone it’s gone, and trying to do their bit to make sure they support.

Let battle commence
Trust V Club more like.
Club choose to ignore the trust when wanting to talk with fans.
Trust choose clubs ex merchandisers.
Smoking Goat to launch The Trust Burger?

Should also add, here, that I thought the Merch Labs people handled themselves with great dignity when they were turfed out of GP. They could have Smoking Goated all over social media, but they chose to keep their powder dry. That’s worth remembering.
Not sure I like this idea ,they fell out with the club and some quite pointed accusation were leaked out about short notice and wives having to collect the gear ,for the trust to get into bed with them so soon after after such a fallout send a bad message in my opinion.
I’d imagine the Trust is ‘repaying’ faith to Merch Labs for pumping out those (badly designed) Save Our Steel mugs a couple of weeks back, which must have been on super-quick turnaround. At basic level, they’re trying to show support to a local business. However, the fact that business was seemingly treated badly by the Club and there’s ‘beef’ there is a big factor, as you could now perceive the Trust to be very visibly taking sides. Imho that’s an error of judgement.
I would add that anyone trying to claim that’s any stand at OSG is being lazy
I also thought this. Not really distinguishable as the OSG.
Also, picky though some may find this, was the OSG really “home of the Iron” from 1899? The Club’s original nickname was The Knuts.
Was just having a look at the new shop after seeing Mike’s designs being used. My initial reaction is I like some of the new merch labs t-shirt designs and whilst not a big fan of Mike’s design style, I absolutely love the endeavour and partnership. Great stuff. The Butler design made me laugh. Someone needs to buy Jeff ‘so called’ Pugh one for his birthday :)
I applaud Mike’s efforts. Not my thing, either, but really good – artistic and thoughtfully done. Fair play to him, there will be ‘an audience’ for his stuff, for sure. I don’t like any of the Merch Labs stuff, I have to say. I just can’t connect with it at all – ideas seem flat or half-arsed or rushed, and the designs could be so much better executed. If I was buying SUFC-related merch, in terms of the way it looked I’d want a decent, clever, tasteful aesthetic and not some clip-art level seaside tat.
No idea what Butterfields injury is but he’s not played for Gateshead since before Christmas.
Only made 19 appearances this season.
Whilst we managed 1 extra point and exactly the same outcome without him. Remind me who were the prophets of doom that predicted mid table at best without Butterfield, Ogle and Elliott.
Hopefully not quite ‘exactly the same outcome’ but your point is bang on. We’ve survived without them. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?
Why would she lie about just above the minimum wage, she also said it was a 65% wage cut so you do the maths.
I didn’t say she lied, I said “deliberate downplay”.
“Just above” the minimum wage could be £19.50 per hour as much as it could be £12 per hour… etc etc.
Sticking up for ones husband isn’t unseemly.
Why would she lie about just above the minimum wage, she also said it was a 65% wage cut so you do the maths.Going on social media to draw supporters into her husband’s argument with the Club was unseemly. That’s not sticking up for him, that’s shit-stirring.
