SST where is your source for the transfer embargo, why no “Time to pay agreement” very unusual not to have one with the taxman, I know Southend broke their aggrement and that’s why the HMRC are trying to wind them up, where are we?

We have been under a new embargo for a while due to the current financial situation and unpaid tax bills. It’s been at least a month as I mentioned it on a couple of podcasts at the start of December. Nelson and Turnbull have alluded to it several times of late in interviews. I think it is so poor, but not surprising, that the club and also the National league are refusing to comment and be transparent with supporters.

I was told today that Lavery has a couple of weeks left on his initial deal. As it stands I don’t think they will be able to extend it under the embargo.
Kgosi is out of contract so we can safely assume he is leaving and its been obvious for a while that Apter is on the way.
Would suggest Moore Billam and Lewis will be back soon to make up the numbers!
Hull were happy to send us a taxi load of their kids last month and offered to pay their entire salaries to get them game time, but we couldn’t do it.
Will be interesting to see if we get special dispensation to bring in a keeper if Foster is out for a while…

The latest news is two offers from Elliott & Sharp have been turned down. So much for the official statement on the 1 Dec to the effect that a deal had been agreed.
A deal had been agreed but that deal was for the club and stadium, without the car parks and training pitch.
The latest offers were for the whole site but the offers but fell well short of his asking price.
This may be an unpopular opinion but I don’t think you can accuse Swann of moving the goalposts this time.

I understand the deal agreed prior to the Notts County game did not include the land.
The most recent offers have been for everything, including the land.
Considering Swann still owes a considerable amount on the loan secured against GP, I very much doubt he is going to accept what is currently on offer.1 user thanked author for this post.
The good news is that he’s not asking for anything like £6 million.
The bad news is that the offer made for the entire site is nowhere near what he wants.

I think wages will be paid due to the sale of Nuttall and two decent gates (Notts County & Chesterfield) but after that, unless a sale is completed, January is looking pretty desperate.

Simon has never said that they had agreed a price for the club, stadium and land, but in his initial interview with Andy Comfort he didn’t correct Andy when he suggested the land was included. I think this has caused some confusion.
I also noticed when listening back to the interview with Sharp/Elliott before the Notts County game, Sharp made it clear that they have agreed a price for the stadium, but didn’t go as far as saying they had agreed a price for the club. I guess they will negotiate a price for the club dependent on the findings of the due diligence.
Re: the land, I know they have been looking into possibility of purchasing it with the help of other investors but not sure where they are with it.
I reckon there’s a long way to go yet…

It is true. Employees informed over email.
Whether they are paid tomorrow remains to be seen. If not, I think it throws the game on Saturday into serious doubt and could possibly end in a points deduction for failing to fulfil fixtures. What a mess.1 user thanked author for this post.
The London group are now in a 28 day exclusivity period to try and get a deal over the line.
Unsure when it ends but presumably it is before the end of the month.

I text in to the radio to suggest that his record has been really poor. I didn’t hear Matt Dean’s response, but apparently he said I was being harsh! I stand by what I said. You could count them on one hand.

Wages had gone in and cleared by lunchtime, but staff on social suggesting they are usually in bank accounts at midnight.

Understand they are very low on stock of shirts and struggling to get any more into the building. No idea if the above is true, but would certainly explain why there are no kits available to order online!

Official line from Swann is that we are closer than ever, but nothing concrete yet.
Two parties still negotiating.
I understand one is the local consortium and the other is the party who passed the fit and proper test some time ago. I also believe the local consortium are only interested in securing the club + GP, whilst the second party want the whole site including the land for the flats/apartments so not straight forward.3 users thanked author for this post.
Facebook also reckons the reason we won last night is that the players were told Swann was leaving at half time!
For what it’s worth I understand there are still two parties involved. Simon’s consortium have put three bids in so far, but I understand they are only interested in securing the club and stadium.
