Elliot surely has the attributes to be a decent striker at the level but he is simply awful.

Probably the worst decision I have ever seen go against us, but I think we have had worse referees this season.

DSF was also onside for the one he shanked wide when the keeper parried Butterfield’s effort. Was stood in line and all three were onside. Lino was about 10 yards behind play.
Attacking player coming in. Released from a League 2 club so will be free transfer. By no means prolific but has scored at a higher level.

Sadly true

Wages are considerable.
I think the National League will make the decision for us anyway.1 user thanked author for this post.
I think Hakeeb was the only tribunal that summer, as he was out of contract. The rest were all agreed prior as I’m sure they all had a year left on their deals.
Townsend went for the most money out of that lot that left after the play offs.
There were definitely some issues with how the first payment was displayed on bank statements, but I think it has been rectified. The most recent payment I made said it was paid to Scunthorpe United FC.
In the small print it says that The Super Draw Lotto is operated by the Sheffield United Supporters Association.
Should be back to normal now, sorry about the down time.

It’s hard to believe that just eight weeks ago I was at GP arranging the distribution of the crowdfunder. I won’t go into too much detail here, as I don’t think it is appropriate, but it was a surreal couple of hours that opened my eyes as to how dire the situation had truly become at the club. I left at close of play in utter disbelief and fearing the worst. In truth, I thought it was all over for SUFC and the absolute best case scenario would be an AFC up at Quibell or Brumby Hall.
Michelle, however, was determined to save the club. The negotiations for the club alone took a huge amount of patience and whilst it would have been easier to throw the towel in, she managed to get the deal over the line. The progress made by the new board since that day, against all odds, has been truly remarkable. Trying to raise the funds to purchase the stadium, clear the extreme levels of inherited debt and service the wage bill is no mean feat and whilst it has been challenging, they are beginning to overcome the hurdles. There is still a LONG way to go, and they need our support more than ever but we now have our home and I believe a real hope for the future. Well done to all concerned.

Naming rights have been agreed for GP and also the training pitch. Expect announcements in the next week or two.

Neutral HMRC bill? If only. He may have paid most of the wages, but that’s about it.

Rance is still technically our player and hasn’t been paid off yet
“We have one player on 10k a month in the National League North ffs”
SST, I’m guessing this is Butterfield !
No.
It isn’t necessarily what anybody wants to hear but I think the wage bill would have to halve if we are aiming for sustainability. We have one player on 10k a month in the National League North ffs.
That said, I think the board understand that huge cuts would seriously impact our chances of promotion and would likely affect attendances and matchday revenue. I reckon it is more likely we limp through to the summer and attempt to balance the books then.
Poulter is going out on loan in the coming days but I still think we could move a couple more out if we have the option of a 24hr recall. Chapman certainly one that needs some minutes.

It is a delicate situation. Whilst it is not ideal given we have a game on Tuesday, trust me when I say that Michelle and the rest of the board are working tirelessly to secure the stadium and the future of SUFC.
I have been into the club a couple of times to discuss the GoFundMe distribution and have seen it first hand.
The day before the deal went through was surreal and I genuinely left the club thinking it was all over. A lot of excellent work has been done since then and there are some really good people who care deeply about SUFC working every hour possible to pull this off.
If she does, it will be a huge achievement in such a short space of time. Let’s see what today brings…

Quick update. All paperwork has been signed and approved by the GoFundMe Trust & Safety team. We are now waiting for the funds to be transferred. As soon as they land, we will start processing donations for SUFC staff.
A massive thank you to everybody who contributed. £68,000 is just amazing.

Please change your tone.
I find it hard to believe that any true Scunthorpe fan is revelling in recent events.
It may transpire that you have been right all along, but this is not the time for gloating and posts like this are giving our forum a bad name.

I thought it was probably a red, but there was arguably a foul on Whitehall in the build-up to it.

The capacity cap was absolutely true. They relaxed it prior to the Peterborough Sports game, but it is still capped at 4500 and we are only allowed 50% of the stand’s capacity in each stand
August 16, 2023 at 11:26 am in reply to: 09/08/23 – County Court Judgement – £1,547.00 – Case No. K5AA1W08 #269585It may be a big deal to an individual or a small company. I find it concerning and wonder how many others may come out of the woodwork in the coming weeks. It is a shame that this sort of thing is playing out in the background when things on the pitch are looking up.

As far as I am aware the Trust haven’t been invited to any recent SAG meetings. Perhaps somebody from the Trust could confirm.

Rumour on the terrace at Tamworth was that Guiseley is the stadium fallback option, not Gainsborough.
That one has been doing the rounds for a little while.
I heard about a potential capacity cap earlier in the week, but it was initially rubbished by my source. I understand the club have since been notified that several issues must be rectified
I am sure I read somewhere that the first draw had been delayed but can’t find it now.
