Iron Bru understands Russ Wilcox has left Scunthorpe United as the club have decided scrapped their U23 side after less than two and a half years.
Wilcox was appointed as U23 manager in January 2019, but ended last season as interim first team manager following the sacking of Paul Hurst.
He turned down the opportunity to remain as first team manager this summer in favour of his U23 role.
It is understood Wilcox has left the role with immediate effect.
