Midfielder Jake Taylor has been recalled by Nottingham Forest.
Taylor struggled to make an impact at Scunthorpe and parent club Forest have exercised a recall option on the player, with a view to selling the 22 year old permanently in the January transfer window.
Taylor’s agent Phil Sproson told the Stoke Sentinel that Port Vale were one of three clubs that were interested in signing the attacking midfielder.
Sproson said: “He has been recalled, that’s nothing against what’s happened at Scunthorpe.
“Forest put a recall (option) in the loan there as they do for most of them. They have to trigger it for a certain date and they did.
“He needs to go permanently now because he has outgrown under-23s football. There is a quality player there that can comfortably play in League One.”
