The Iron Trust has announced that Fan Director Neil Wright has resigned from his position on the board of Scunthorpe United Football Club.
A statement released by the Iron Trust read:
The Iron Trust (Scunthorpe United Supporters Society) regretfully announces that Fan Director Mr Neil Wright has resigned his position on the Board of Scunthorpe United FC.
Mr Wright had become increasingly disturbed by events at the club and due to NDAs (non-disclosure agreements) by the very limited amount of information he was able to convey to supporters.
Iron Trust Chairman Tony Gosling said, “Neil joined the Board of Scunthorpe United at the most turbulent of times in the Club’s history. For some time we have been aware of Neil’s frustrations at not being able to fully convey information to supporters regarding events happening within the Club.”
The Iron Trust is aware that the future survival of Scunthorpe United FC is at a critical stage and whilst disappointed that Neil’s position had become untenable we fully understand and support Neil in his decision to stand down.
Furthermore, the Iron Trust would like to thank Neil for his contribution as the Club’s first Fan Director and look forward to continuing to work with him as both a board member of the Iron Trust and Chair of SULSESC (Scunthorpe United London and South East Supporters Club).
