Iron Bru understands that Scunthorpe United are weighing up a January move for AFC Wimbledon captain Will Nightingale.
Iron boss Neil Cox worked with Nightingale during his time as assistant manager at the Dons and it is understood he would like to add the 6ft 3” defender to the ranks if finances allow this January.
Scunthorpe are short of options defensively with key men Harrison McGahey and Manny Onariase facing lengthy spells on the sidelines, but Cox has admitted players will have to leave the Sands Venue Stadium before additions can be made.

Nightingale progressed through the academy at AFC Wimbledon and broke into the first team at the club under the management of Neal Ardley and Cox.
The 25 year old has made 94 appearances for the Dons since signing professional terms in 2014 and scored his first career goal against the Iron during a 1–1 draw in 2018.
