So there you have it. We’re bouncing back!
I have a sneaking suspicion once the new owners are in “whoever they may be” we’ll get some better players in and have a bit of a go.
Turnbull said that we’re to make more signings throughout January. I honestly think that we’ll announce new owners Monday/Tuesday and then we’ll sign strikers and actually pay fee’s for them.
Hill has probably been shunned by anybody half decent so is playing the waiting game until we have funds to be able to go out and get a few that will actually contribute.
That’s my thoughts on the situation anyway. Hill wouldn’t willingly go into a season with one recognized striker and one LB/part time striker if he had the budget there to get any decent one’s in.
I hope my thoughts are correct anyway.

Put that glue down fromafar, that’s for sticking not for sniffing.
This happened before for him at Fleetwood and obviously here. Alexander appears to do really well but then seemingly when he reaches a certain level with whatever team he’s managing he ends up regressing.
Odd one because on the face of it he’s a good enough manager but when he does well he never kicks on and there seems to be a cut off point with him.
I still think if we went for it in the play offs at home we would have completely outplayed them. I remember when the game was coming to an end he went more positive and for the last 15-20 minutes we absolutely battered them and you could see we were the better team.
Alexander just lacked belief.

Gallimore is good enough to play a part, as are Moore-Billam, Ethan Young, Lewis and Wilson. Shrimpton not sure about and Cribb despite being talented is very slight in stature and could benefit from a loan playing men’s football.
Lewis has a slight question mark over him because if we don’t play with width and if O’Malley stays fit for the majority he’s not going to get game time.
o be able to read his tweets without being a follower as Samways said earlier.
Exactly my point. I think it went over awaywego’s head !

I thought it was odd that his tweets are protected. Not the transparency I was expecting, seems a bit daft to me.
Looks like Swann is nearly out the door now. I just hope he doesn’t choose to do anything stupid in a bid to cling on his positon. I don’t think he will though as I could tell when he gave that interview that he wanted out.
If/when he does go you can wheel out those apologies lol
He follows me but for some reason I don’t follow him. I sent a request to follow but it’s still pending. Until then it’s a blackout for me. I can’t can’t bloody read it.
Protected tweets !
When is an announcement expected, for those that can actually read romford’s tweet’s ?
If you go on to Neil Wright’s Twitter page it’s on his tweets & replies someone asked him and he confirmed it.
If that’s the case, why is there nothing else on twitter about it ?
Bit odd.

I can’t find anything about it on twitter!
Copy and paste it if you can on here so I can see for myself. I was expecting news about it but now it’s positive and it’s here, I’m having a problem believing it.
Is this a wind up ?
I hope it’s the new chairman announcement.
Nthle and Hallam are both in training. The pair of them were shown in training pics from a few days ago but won’t be anywhere near match fit.
Kahoussi has gone from what I can gather but club said not said a word. I agree with you MK, somebody at the club really needs to come out and tell us what’s going on.
Are we seriously going to go into this season with one recognized striker ?
Has a monster throw as well from what I’ve read. About time we took advantage of a long chuck into the box. Versatile player.
Also has a fine head of hair !
, he couldn’t be part of the consortium???
I hope not.
I see that Kevan Kahoussi we had on trial has gone as well. We surely can’t go into this season 5 players short, surely ?
I can’t believe that Hill thinks going into this season with 1 recognized striker is in any way acceptable.
I wonder if this take over is stopping the club doing any business until it’s ratified ?
I wonder whether we blew the rest of the budget we had on Butterfield and are waiting on the takeover to go through before drafting in any more players ?
He’s well loved by all, what you talking about Northumb ? lol
On a more serious note he’s without doubt the most hated chairman in our history !
I know Swann’s been full of shite for the most part but he said he hoped it would go through before the season starts
In 2 weeks? I’d be surprised but who knows.
I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if there is no change in ownership before Christmas but let’s hope you’re right WG.
I was only basing that timeline on the fit and proper persons test takes 14 days by the FA and it was rumoured that the application was put in before Swann did that interview, because otherwise why come out in the first place and do it ?
Who knows? Possibly a little better very possibly worse. Guess I failed getting to extra marks territory?
In my opinion if we’d have gone up it would have been worse. Swann’s spending was reckless as it was. I couldn’t possibly imagine how much he would have spent if there was more scope there to do so.
I’d rather not contemplate that in all honesty.
I know Swann’s been full of shite for the most part but he said he hoped it would go through before the season starts. All those things you mention Deerey have been sorted already. Well that was the impression I got the other day.
People may think I’m nuts for believing Swann on this but his ego has took a big hit and I’m telling you now, without a shadow of a doubt he wants out.
The people who have agreed a fee for the club would have gone through thos details already I would have thought. Been in discussions for months and rejected to bids due to not covering wages in with the fee so they will know “whoever they are” know exactly what they’re buying.
Swann has been full of it for the most part but I do really think deep down he wants out. No way his ego will keep him here, he knows he fucked up and knows people see him for what he is, A somewhat dodgy failure.
Definitely not a LB. I think Hill stupidly see’s him as one though.
Well it takes around 14 working days for the fit and proper persons test to be ratified by the FA so going by those dates, we may have to wait until very early August.
By that time we’ll have very little time to get players in.
Can you paste a link about Botham being one of the consortium please?
It wasn’t even from a noted source as such it was a mere suggestion from somebody on twitter. Everybody is guessing at the moment. There maybe be truth to it, then again it could be complete horse manure.
It’s definitely a consortium because Swann said they were “footballing people” but nobody has a clue who they are. Site editor will probably have an inkling as to who it is but even if he wanted to say something he can’t because of the non disclosure agreement.
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves Afar, we need players first and foremost.
I did see on twitter than Botham is one of the consortium who has had the bid accepted. I wouldn’t be against Simon Elliot being a part of it either, proper Scunthorpe fans who understand the club would be a refreshing change.
I think site editor Matt knows who they are but understandably won’t say due to them being under a NDA while the deal is being ratified.

Hopefully the sale will go through and we can all apologise to WonderGoals!
That wouldn’t be necessary lol
Hope it does happen though !

It isn’t.
Spill the beans….clearly you know more than me !
It will be Jason maza and that Ian Sharp who’s a actor/director and also was born in scunthorpe. Swann said he’d been in discussions for months and that Jason Maza wrote a message on twitter with the scunny crest in it and somebody asked him if he’d bought us and he replied “not yet” and that was 2 few months back now.
They all have viable business and you would have thought they wouldn’t be short of a few quid, especially that Sharp….he not long ago directed a film for Disney. I can remember reading it on twitter.
I still think it will happen. I can understand the doubt but Swann wants out and clearly somebody else wants in.
It’s blank canvas WG, bit of leg pull on NI’s part, you are allowed to smile occasionally.
I gathered that. I was meaning the scepticism more as a collective response of all the forum posters. I smile regularly thank you and smiled when Swannster said he agreed a price for the club.
No idea. We need a CB,RB, Wide player and 2 strikers to compete though. I’d prefer perm signings but if they’re good loan players then so be it, we need numbers in though.
