And there’s me, thinking they’d found one of the star turns from the weakender (sic) semi comatose under the stand.

Nice to see the loyalty and how happy he is at the club, always there for the fans, waved the supporters coaches off when injured goes to away games when injured even commentates.
And he knows where the back of the net is.

    In Dan we trust.
Great day at the office by the club yesterday.

I would hope it’s Whitehall/ Howe partnership with Carlton out wide and Dawson partnering Clunan. Beck for Whitehall for certain matches and when he’s injured or needs resting. Certainly promising.

    We look venomous up front.

I agree with everything that’s been said on this Forum about this young man, but I’m afraid you have more chance of seeing a pig flying over The Attis Arena than see this young man play there for Scunthorpe United. All the usual excuses for not signing him will be trotted out or there will be complete silence on the matter. An NL or a League 2 club will take a punt and 5 years from now he will be banging them in at a much higher level. And we will be left with what might have beens.

    For Your Eyes Only!

    Oops… forgot about Carlton.

    Happy with our strike force.

Got to be 4-4-2 … need a bit of steel in midfield and a creative LM.

And a lad to stand between the posts & play sweeper keeper.

    Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
    At least we tried.
With yesterday’s footballing announcements, things are looking up.
It looks as if the BoD are learning and improving the Club.
Best of luck to the BoD, staff, players and the long suffering fans in 2025/26.

Pair with Clunan in midfield and we are starting to look tasty!

Or with Danny up front leaving your love child on the bench?

    4-2-2-2
    Dan, Dec, Joey, Beck

Beck as the 10 just behind D&D to flick on for them or to nod down for JoeD.

Two wing backs who step up in to midfield when we’ve got possession (2–4-2-2) or effectively a 2-4-4 when attacking.

At breakdown, JoeD drops in to midfield, making us 4-3-1-2, if they retain possession for a period then Beck drops in as well making us 4-4-2

As WG and numerous others have stated many times before, we need an enforcer for CM. In addition, we need a creative midfielder who can unlock defences for Dan & Dec to exploit.
I’m thinking Stan may be thinking of playing JoeD in midfield?, he’s played there before.
If CR10 re-signs then that’ll be like signing a new player. Fingers crossed on that one.
If we can unearth someone of a similar ilk to CR10 for the other side then we’ll be offensively potent.

    Welcome Home Dec

    For 2026/27?

Callum Howe – he’d be a great accusation for us at this level. Knows it (the level) and has done it before.
He’s obviously a big part in York’s plans – but if he became available. Twice named in the National League ‘Team of the Year’ – one to bring back when his contract expires?

Lewis Butroid, under contract for 2025/26 but we should keep an eye on him this season. He had a cracker for Trinity in 2024/25.

    The dynamic duo next season!

Well done Rene, you wished the Howe signing into existence.

    His goals couldn’t go ignored.

Fingers crossed that he and Dan hit 20 each this new season.

The ‘Declan Howe showreel’ video Gainsborough Trinity have just posted is worth a watch. He looks to have a good instinctive eye for goal, reminds me a bit of Billy Sharp.

As I’ve being saying for long enough… he’s a natural born goal scorer!

Can we get Callum back? He’s a solid CH who can play.

    The List

Keep up Rene your only ten and a half hours too late mate, lol.

A technical glitch at my end.
I think my internet was stuck in a time lock – it was leading me to believe the announcement had just being made.
Not sure why it was playing up but it seems to have self resolved now.

Which leads me on to the planned 3 day music extravaganza. So they are hoping to attract 10,000 per day to watch unknown local amateur bands and tribute bands.
So they are hoping 30,000 of the 81,000 of Scunthorpe will pay good money for this. Jesus… ain’t going to happen.

3 days – 3 lots of costs – maximise your loses boys!

People who want to go to a festival want a muddy wet field where they can pitch their bivvies, smoke their happy fags and have a roll around in the sludge with a member of the opposite sex or same sex or an alien / ET.
