Until due diligence has been conducted and completed you cannot agree a price.

You need to find out all the ‘hidden’ liabilities first. Good luck to Simon, Ian and associates.

Not what I wanted from the new owners, maybe the old chestnut “His contract was up in the summer better to get abit of money now than nothing later”

    [/quote
No announcement as to the state of the deal so as far as we know Peter Swann is still the owner. What concerns me is the word ‘BENEFICIAL’ from Mr Turnbull but zero explanation as to why. Very poor.

Best wishes to him. Has the right attitude and regular games at that level will be good for him.

Been used more as a left winger from what I have been told. People very impressed with his attitude and ability. Bish will have been a good influence.

The one manager whose departure was wholly indefensible.

As usual NDA’s would be the order of the day, so only the EGO could say the full story.

The EGO I have no time for, he is solely responsible for where we are and the state we are in. But the bits I know and saw indicated things would end quickly.

The problem we have had is the person in charge would have messed up a subbuteo team.

Don’t understand why supporters on Twitter get so irate about not being updated on a potential takeover every few weeks and then turn their ire towards Turnbull and Wright. Most of the time nothing will be happening and anything that does will be commercially sensitive, more so when Swann is involved.

Unfortunately we probably won’t hear anything until a deal is done, or collapsed.

They are there to take the flak and offer little. They seem to act as though on NDA’s.

Anything granted by The EGO is a ‘mickey take’.

Just sets up someone else to get the flak.

Is it true Matthews changed his boots at half time because Brownsword kept catching him and kicking him into the stand?

Not sure on that but he did change wings and Bill Shankly did say on another occasion Jackie Brownsword was the best Left Back at that time.

Rumoured Jordan coming back, Carver recalled, budget tight so perhaps someone is being sold after wednesday.

Any money would help with invoices remember no more shirts for the shop.

You’re absolutely spot on with your comment Pat O’Cake. We’ve been to every forum when Swann attended and if ever anyone disagreed with him or asked him any questions which needed an honest answer his tone changed on a sixpence and he became agitated.

Certainly did, also thought the older the speaker the greater the sarcasm from Swann and Rodwell.

Lost count of the number of times the term ‘we are professionals in the entertainment industry’.

Why ? List of previous injuries says no. Did like the RB at South Shields though, problem could be on higher wage there.

Feel sorry for the children expecting their Scunthorpe United kits on Christmas day. The shop has always had plenty of stock at Christmas. If this is true and the shop isn’t being re-stocked by Swann it would be no surprise to me as it would just be a continuation of his total disregard for supporters. Its beginning to feel as if he actually hates our supporters due to us disagreeing with his disastrous tenure of our Club and to where we are now, as nothing is ever his fault.

Hearing the EGO didn’t like the latest items of criticism ! As they say truth hurts. But the next statement could be ‘The’ Statement from the EGO there again it could be a statement that is a precis of the EGO’s statement. But we all know it is everyone else who is at fault !!!

Death by a thousand cuts ! Now the club shop suffers, hope that those who will now be disappointed do not blame the shop staff.

Further disconnection with supporters that has been going on for almost 9 years now. Does appear latest criticisms have created a spiteful backlash. But not surprised – as they say ‘A wise person sometimes changes their mind. A FOOL never does’

I heard that too; Gotta feel for the staff. If I worked at Scunthorpe United right now I would be updating my CV and looking for a new job asap.

Some have and are. Team analyst already gone to Lincoln City.

The abuse directed at Nuttall reminds me of years gone past.
Brian Laws was abused by so- called fans earlier in his managerial career ( player manager at the time) at a game at Rochdale. Laws gave these yobs a taste of their own medicine and stood up to the abuse. These so called fans never forgot or moved on ( they continued their abuse of Laws even when the golden years were in full flow!) The old timers on here know who they are ,but their reply now would be “ don’t know what you’re talking about, guv.”

We had that a few years ago. One cretin in the East Stand gave Hurst 90 minutes of hell every home game. Jim Goodwin tried to shut him down but he gradually wore Kevin down and we lost a good player for nothing – destroyed his form and we lost a good sale.

Sometimes players can have off games but they keep trying. I never boo players you gain nothing and cost the team in the long run.

Tragedy for him because he could be good. Sadly near enough same injury – hamstring that renders him crocked.

    Chronic waste of money.

We do not know the rules the Fans Board representative operates under.

Do think the fans deserve to know but this club operates The EGO OFFICIAL ACT.

The podcasts tried to lift the spirits of the fans. The club has little option other than follow the instructions given by The EGO.

Fans can only do so much where the club is not allowed to engage with the fans.

Really sad that the person elected to act as a director from the fans is getting abuse for something not of his making and nor can he correct. Best wishes to Neil.

The FIRST time the clubs owner stated verbally and in a written statement that.

” When we leave this club we will leave it better off financially than when we took over “.

So there we have it Mr Swanns own words, no misunderstanding a GUARANTEE. And as he is a professional and one assumes honourable businessman it will be HONOURED. Unless of course…..

The club is heading for extinction. If £6 million is the required amount to buy the club then it is all over and the EGO will not bat an eye lid.

Tony Daws will want to be in the next round. It means a winning cheque. So I can see a strong team of fully fit players. Expecting to see some of our younger players on the bench. Such as Sellers-Fleming, Wallace and Poulter.

Not sure how many subs we are allowed to have on the bench in this.

Everything was systematically dismantled over the 4/5 years with our recruitment from the front working backwards. The last position to receive the treatment – The Keeper !

Once done the architect legged it !

Was a top lad. Man Utd were scouting him but then Mr Buxton started using him as a utility player and effectively ended that opportunity. And I agree he was our best central defender and could only see him get better and the clubs fortunes improve because a bigger club would have bought him.

And yes he is still local, see him now and again – never changes.

This young keeper mantra was Will Swanns choice and no one else. He quits and the issue is firmly there for all to see. Why we let Tom Collins go baffles me even now. If 2 young keepers were wanted then we had them anyway, Tom knew the players and what was needed – so Will got rid of that bit of stability. He tried it the previous season with the Coventry lad and I understand Rory had been told right from the start of the season if they could get him out then they would ! Same mess. Our recruitment was to create imbalance and now Tony Daws has to sort that out first.

One final huge mess and the creator vanishes. Mr Dewhurst just the latest victim, hope he can get back to where he was before we got him.

Another manager sacked by an ego !

Mr Wraith couldn’t get on Leeds Utd board and a manager they got rid of he wanted to prove them wrong with was hired. Sadly John Duncan was unfairly sacked to facilitate a previous EGO doing what he wanted.

RIP Mr Duncan, condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

Something is wrong ! Who is changing the decision making on the field ? Because someone is.

And again an inexperienced keeper is getting all the flak, the departed Will Swann knew what he recruited and then did a runner.

Despite some inferring paranoia I believe nothing.

When the club issues a statement of ownership change I will read what is said.
