If I write “Renard dans la boîte” does that give me genius status?

    Agreed.

Denton or Law would be better in a 4-3-3

If Whitehall is to be the muscles then we need a nippy “fox in the box” in the mould of Flounders, Forrester, Sharp and Hooper.

Can’t se Elliot in that role if I’m honest.

The last time I played in Saudi an Arab offered to buy my wife for five camels.

I normally smoke Marlboro but it seemed like a good deal!

He’s from Sunderland. He probably thinks Saudi Arabia is next to South Shields!

(Probably have to live in the NE to get that one)

    Hearse driving onto the pitch?

Oh, no, you said competitive games.

Must have been at least one where barriers or the like had become unsafe?

Over the past two decades I’ve been to the best part of a dozen non-league grounds here in the NE with mates who support Bradford (PA) and Chester respectively.

Gateshead introduced segregation about three years ago, but the stadium is a vast, empty bowl and it’s probably as much to do with spreading the “crowd” out as avoiding trouble. The last evening game I went to there only the main stand was open, fans separated by a blanked off block of seats. However fans mingle quite happy in The Schooner pub nearby.

Last season’s Blyth Spartans v Chester fixture was the only other one I’ve been at where away fans were directed to a separate turnstile. The daft thing about that was that you could just walk into the clubhouse and have a pie and a pint regardless of your colours.

Also, I’ve never been unable to pay on the gate at any game. FA Cup included.

Not saying things won’t be different for us this coming season, but in my experience fans tend to self segregate anyway. For example going behind the goal your team is attacking.

Should be an interesting ten months.

Looks like the “Reynolds Arena” could see football again.

And Darlo may have a noisy neighbour!

Better make sure we don’t turn up at the wrong venue.

In the pub last night and a guy I know who smokes rollys said “I’m going to give this up!”

    “Good for you” I replied.

“Yeah. I’m thinking of moving on to vapes”.

“Nah, mate” I said. “Stay on the baccy. Unless you want to look like a complete dickhead!”

Sucking on a douche-flute? No way!

    Anybody go?

If so, how did we play? Verdicts on the new signings? Any standout performances?

Or are we only talking about the catering points and directors box?

Any comments from those who said we wouldn’t be playing any friendlies at GP?

No access to seats or facilities through the director’s box anymore only in emergencies.

I’m sure your mate Patrick will sort that out for you!

Most of us will have moved to our spiritual home by then… but I’m sure that we will be looking down and cheering the mighty iron on!

In the meantime we’re left looking down the leagues!

I thought this was a football forum!

I fear you may have accidentally stepped through the time portal into Iron Bru’s parallel universe!

The longer you stay here the less likelihood there is of you ever escaping.

BPG …you would do better to attend to your own posts rather than trying to improve mine. NI never intimated that he thought Jesus was fictional.

Oh, but I do think that, and BPG knows it.

At the risk of repeating historic posts, the name Jesus doesn’t appear until the 4th century and the Jesus story is as re-working of previous mythology. Horus, Dionysius, Mithras etc.

    Fictional!

But that’s not to say fictional literature can’t promote morality.

The Bible, however isn’t my “go to” book on the shelf!

There you go. Removed. I’d hate to upset any Christian viewers.

But they’re just Fairy Stories JI.

No different to any other mythology. Do you believe that Venus was conceived when the Titan Cronus castrated his father, the god Uranus, whose severed genitals fertilized the sea?

Thought not! So why is that a story yet the Bible truth?

Anyway back to topic. As my wife and daughter rightly say “men should STFU about abortion. It’s nothing to do with them!”

Just a BPG fishing trip. Nothing to see here.

And God presents Moses with a law saying “thou shalt not kill” shortly after he’s murdered the first born male child of every Egyptian family.

    Nice guy eh?

Just wondering what the opinion is about the “just” sentence for such a crime?

Like your Christian brethren did all across the globe?

    South America rings a bell!

What was their punishment for the mass murder of entire races?
