Resting our best players and forfeiting one game, in the hope of getting something in the next makes no sense whatsoever.

It did when Nige did it a St James’ Park eleven years ago next week. It kept us in The Championship.

But yes, anything other than a win on Saturday will make Cox look foolish.

We have a record number of injuries, yet still put out a team and a full subs bench despite the players Forever Iron lists (plus McAttee) not even making that bench.

To use all five permitted subs and still not have a single shot on target (at home) just shows how crap the recruitment was last summer.

I really thought Cox was beginning to sort things out, but tonight was a massive step backwards.

Player rotation but still no place for Turan or McAttee!

Even Howe gets on the bench ahead of them.

They put four past Orient on Saturday. Let’s hope they don’t like travelling!

Three years ago today we were in the middle of a run of 10 games without a win and Graham Alexander had only a fortnight left before he was sacked.

So to go from that to the abject performance against Grimsby in two years was certainly some achievement.

Unfortunately that will be what fans remember once the gates reopen.

Cox and the players seem to have finally started to do their bit, and some canny work in the summer transfer window (particularly in the striking department) may help.

Turning out in a proper football strip would be good, but that doesn’t look likely!

. A point away at Salford is a great result by any means.

A couple of seasons back it wouldn’t have been. Which shows how much work there still is to do to get us back to where we were when Alexander left.

In January I was questioning whether or not Cox was the man to do it, but I’m glad Swann stuck with him. Comments above re: Spence coming in and having a blinder enabling Karacan and Beestin to rest up for Tuesday whilst Gilliead still does a job game in, game out. The fact that we are losing one CB a game yet looking a lot better defensively and also have good cover in both FB positions. All this points to Cox beginning to get the team he wants playing the way he wants.

The problem area is still up front. Much of this is down to that bizarre recruitment last summer. We’ve still four forwards floating around in the ether with barely two games to their name.

Cautiously optimistic that Cox & Co. can build on this and get us challenging next season.

BTW Classic bit of Old School homophobia from BS there.

That’s what you get with Kev. We should be used to it by now.

The season we were relegated from L1 he was a waste of space in some games. But as IA says when he’s up for it he’s a legend.

Shame his return has coincided with Loft’s injury. He’s not the only one mind, Hallam looked off the mark too yesterday, and Eisa’s form has dipped dramatically.

Whilst this thread is still pinned can anyone explain how to put pictures into the reply box?

I noticed DSGM posted a picture of that 90s away strip on another thread.

Nice Trumpesque post there NI, isn’t a shame people have different views.

So you’d be okay with us turning out looking like we’re wearing crop-tops?

Can you post up the otions for those of us who didn’t see them last time round?

Not sure if this can be done. Once you’d voted on the original survey you couldn’t get back to that last page with all the choices on (well I couldn’t anyway).

    Anyone take a screenshot?

Kit #4 is ‘effin shite! It looks like some gash ladies T-shirt from Primark.

Who the hell voted for that? The kids from some Primary School?

I reckon it’s a club conspiracy. That strip has already been chosen and they bunged a couple of other graphics in there to con us all.

Will be the worst shirt in the club’s history if it’s chosen (which it will be!).

As Deerey says, please, please vote for #5 to stop this. Twice if you can get away with it.

Not unusual for a manager who has managed in the PL (albeit briefly) going to a L1 club and having a clause in his contract saying that if a club from a higher division comes knocking he’s allowed to speak to them.

I’m guessing Moore had something along those lines in his contract.

Were you watching Northumbiron? It was Kev who scored. Nearly 20 mins after he got subbed off.

And ten minutes after he shaved his beard off and changed his shirt number from 10 to 22?

BEEDTIN—-5—-Not involved in much tonight, abcent for long spells.
GREEN—4—Did very little, never got involved, why select him???

One goal (Beestin), one assist (Green), three points.

    Probably why they were selected.

Does seem strange that player movement is regulated by “windows” but management isn’t.

I get Alcy’s point re: due notice, it does seem a tad unfair on the club.

Clarke has had several very poor games this year but that one tops them all for me – positional, passing, pace, all so far off it.
Rowe is by far the better footballer currently.

So where’s this Teddy Howe character?

3 RBs on the books so no excuse really.

Lineup certainly says let’s go for it.

Decent bench too. Funny how McAttee seems to have disappeared off the radar.

This used to be common in the Italian League years ago, then it spread into our Premier League due to so many foreigb players coming here

    Hmm!

The PL refs still get it wrong when they have VAR to consult. No chance in L2!
