Or alternatively you could have used those two sizeable paragraphs to give us your opinion on the topic.

Is The Pawn ignoring the fans and bulldozering his own plans through with scant regard for the history of the club (a bit like HM Government). Or is he our very own knight in shining armour saving us from the same fate suffered by Macclesfield and Bury?

Blimey Awaywego, if that’s right he’s worse than I thought!

I also didn’t realise he was 25 now. I don’t think he’s going to get any better.

Howard going is only bad news if he isn’t replaced with better. Because if Mr Swann still thinks Watson is our No1 we’re in trouble.

    Correct, these are analogies.

The “club” is doing what politicians do.

Telling us that although things look bad everything will be okay if we continue stick with them.

Anyone with grievances is being petty and unrealistic as the silent majority support what the leadership is doing.

    Whilst all the time……

Which brings us back full circle.

Because if you haven’t got a spare £11 million Johnson and his mates won’t be listening to you.

Sounds like an accurate description of the present leadership of both club and country!

    Even more irritation Mick!

Yes, I’m afraid it’s all weasel words, so unless there’s actually something positive to be SEEN he might as well not say anything.

Even ambitious non-league managers are going to wonder whether the 90th best team in the league is the right place to come to.

Agree to an extent, but as it’s been pointed out Morecambe and Stevenage were in our position last year and have done better this time around (particularly Morecambe).

What would have been the point in sacking Sooty and Sweep, when Harry or Matthew Corbett was still running the show?

And Soo holding the purse strings?

You’d have to wonder exactly what quality of candidate we could attract if we did sack Cox.

There will be managers out there who would take the job, BUT!

They would no doubt want some control over who they bring in, and we all know that’s unlikely.

Our managers are merely the counter staff at a branch of Ratners!

‘Cos like there isn’t any other modern stadia in London? Spurs, Arsenal?

They could play it up here at SJP for that matter. And if each club are only getting 4,000 tickets Leicester or Derby would be big enough.

The average age of the team that started against Stevenage was 24.

If Watson had played instead of Howard it would have been 23.

    Just saying…

when we had the reserve team last I think it wasn’t used properly,

Back in the dim and distant past of reserve teams we didn’t have 18 man match day squads.

We didn’t play every Tuesday and Saturday, and we certainly didn’t have Mickey Mouse trophy competitions where the first games were in a mini league and the big clubs’ U21s were included.

As Bucks says unless you’re a big club with billionaire owners it is very difficult to run a successful system within your budget.

Which is probably why we have seen the less able products of PL academies finding their way out on loan to clubs like Scunthorpe United.

Another example of where the playing field is anything but level.

    Ah?
So you go to footy and sit in silence?

    Not for me

Let’s expand this football analogy based upon your statement that, quote – “I loathe all parties and all politicians equally”.

Would you go to watch a match between two teams you loathed? I doubt it. And if you did would you cheer on either? Very unlikely.

Oh, and btw I’ve STOOD and watched plenty of games as a neutral without shouting my disapproval to either side.

Blyth Spartans v Chester was the last one. When did you last attend a game?

To simplify: if I’m at a footy match as a neutral, and six people near me shout for team A, do I add balance by shouting for BOTH teams, or for team B?

But why would you NEED to do either?

Most people would keep their gobs shut and watch the game.

My understanding is that they believe that the NL should be treated as a separate entity this year.

Because there is to be no movement internally between the divisions the same teams in the same league should feature next season.

They’d argue that unlike the EFL, the NL has not been able to function as it normally would.

Nonsense of course, as they knew what the consequences of finishing 23/24 in L2 was as much as we did.

Reckon their only hope is to get one of Trump’s lawyers on the case!

but it is now time for younger coaches who are more in touch with the modern game.

But isn’t that what we’ve tried with Cox?

Someone said on the other thread that in the end we didn’t need the point we got at Bradford last Saturday. I beg to differ.

Had we lost Southend would have thrown the kitchen sink at Newport today.

The league position says we stayed up by three points but that doesn’t tell the full story.

making it 5 games since we scored a single goal

Correct! And only three goals in the last ten games of the season (and two of them were in the FGR match).

So 8/10 games with no Iron goals. Surely that must be the worst ever run we’ve had. It’s incredible to think two teams were actually worse than us!

    Absolutely shocking!

Noticeable omissions are Gillead, Eisa, van Veen and Watson, with Karacan on a six man bench that KDT and Mooney can’t even get on!

Does this tell us who’s on their way out?

    Is Onariase injured again?

Do some of these players actually exist?

    All very strange.
