I rest my case!
In response to another thread I had said we didn’t have to go back ten years to find quality players.
WG said Hippo, Beestin and Hackney looked solid. I disagreed.
So I picked three midfielders from the past 2/3 years, two players we had signed plus a loanee.
In hindsight Bishop/Beestin wasn’t the best comparison as they are slightly different midfielders.
It was never my intention to pick three that played in the same team. Although all three did feature regularly in the 2017/18 season.
So actually…!
There had been a spate of far-right conspiracy theorist videos posted (up to half a dozen or more a day).
On Friday an extremely racist thread was put up, along with a less extreme but nonetheless homophobic one.
All getting a bit out of hand really.
Simon Elliott mentioned on social media that players have turned us down for geographical reasons,
They don’t want to relocate to Swann’s Cloud Cuckoo Land?

The demand for retail isn’t what it was on “day one” anymore!

For any posters who don’t use the non football forum.
You now know who’s responsible for getting it closed down.

YouTube’s shares have just plummeted!
Hill’s or Swann’s?
Strangely enough as I read this there is a Kayak advert above offering “hotels in Blackpool from £17”!
Every silver lining …….!
“I think with Beestin, Hippolyte and Hackney in CM, that’s pretty solid at this level”.
Blimey, I don’t!
Beestin is no Neale Bishop, Hippolyte is no Duane Holmes and Hackney is certainly no Ryan Yates!
But Perry and Pugh are too powder puff for a relegation scrap so I suppose it’s Hobson’s Choice!
I’d rather see Hallam up front but we won’t go into the intricacies of that!

January 14, 2022 at 11:41 pm in reply to: SWANNS Last Chance to Save Our Football League Status #221666Looking back to last two years is bad enough,
Van Veen, Eisa, Gilliead, Karacan, Clarke, McGahey.
Even McAttee would be preferable to Jarvis and Turan.
And we only escaped by the skin of our teeth then!
No chance with this squad.

3-0 Exeter.
Prediction League teaser.
I think for this one I’m going to put 0 next to the Iron and roll a dice for the Exeter score!
Ranting and raving is the normal thing for fans to do in that situation.
What you and UTI99 are saying doesn’t sound normal to me!

Anyone want to bet on finishing the transfer window with more out goings than in comings?
So far it’s in – Burns
Out – Wilson, Billson, Scrimshaw and Loft!
minus 3 and counting!

I know a number of fans of clubs currently in the NL or NL(N).
My cousin in a Codhead and I have good mates who follow the likes of Chester, Chesterfield and Notts County.
Not one, when their team was teetering on the brink like we are, shrugged it off and said “hey-ho, relegation happens!”
Not a bit of it. They ranted and raved, blamed players and managers, refs and linesmen, but mostly owners.
They didn’t accept relegation out of the Football League with quiet dignity. They were dragged down kicking and screaming.
All are still mightily pissed off about it!

We used to pick up the odd Spaniard too!
Can we do a “Buy one, get one free”?
Anyway UTI99, are you voting YES or NO on this?
You haven’t said yet!
surly everyone
Yep! That’s Iron Bru okay!

It’s what happens when you put capitalists in charge of a football club.
They’re only interested in profits. Once the business model ceases to be profitable they bin it and move their attention to another project.

O’Shea did okay.
Like you say it’s shit or bust!
I think that’s something like 13 NO, 1 Yes, 1 ask me in three weeks time.
Not looking good Peter!
If his Blackpool venture is on par with his football club, then I won’t be booking a room. It’ll probably be like the hotel in Carry On Abroad!
I’m still at a loss to know exactly why he decided to take out the EFL loan. “Day to day running of the club” was I believe (correct me if I’m wrong) the reason given. Yet 21/24 L2 clubs deemed it unnecessary, including clubs with lower attendances than us.
We were struggling on the pitch to start with. The loan has left us completely screwed.
I’d love Brad and the two Matts (plus Neil) to get him on a podcast and really let him have both barrels (metaphorically speaking). But it won’t happen will it?
I have absolutely no confidence that Swann can keep us in the Football League given his track record.
At least I know the way to Gateshead, Spennymoor Town, Blyth Spartans & Darlington!
A resounding NO!

it will never be my debt or yours so why worry about it.
Because the knock on effects could end up with us going out of business like Bury, Macclesfield and others before them.
I don’t know about you, but that worries me!

Was is when doing the crossbar challenge?
WG – “I hope Hill doesn’t go down this crazy path of weird team selections, we’ve been down this road before and it never works.”
Alcy – “I thought we’d have finished with that nonsense.”
Umpteenth manager doing this. Must be a common denominator somewhere? 🤔

Thing is a fortnight ago I was punching the air and were were on course for 47/50 points.
Today I’m punching the ground and were looking at a 36/39 pt total.
After Oldham we were looking at back to back wins. The reality has been back to back defeats!
Last week we were saying we only need two teams to finish with fewer points. After yesterday’s results that looks increasingly unlikely.
Still twists and turns to come before May, but I reckon there’ll be more snakes than ladders en route.
The Fat Lady’s alarm has just gone off!
My mate’s a Chester fan. Part of the ground is in England, part is in Wales!
Right old hoo-ha erupting…
