Shocking defending from Manny and Davis to cause the problem in the first place. Aimless ball forward gets us into trouble with 3 centre backs.
Devarn didnt prove me wrong today. Ended up playing up front, in midfield and then at right back. Shite in all 3 positions. Yet he finished the game. What’s that about Neil?
Wood could be a Yates. The other loanee in midfield looks more of a Regan Slater. Early days though. Again Neil thought you should have brought him off earlier.

The BLM movement did not invent kneeling as a way of showing respect. Christian churchgoers have used it extensively for 2,000 years.
I don’t know this for sure but expect the number of Marxists in the England mens football squad is approximately zero.
Can we let go of this bullshit that opposition to sportspeople taking the knee is an anti Marxist stance. Anyone that does not support anti racist gestures has every right to do so but at least have the balls to admit that is what you are doing.
Personally I would prefer 10 seconds of both teams and officials linking with arms over one another’s shoulders with the message of equality and all lives matter. However, taking the knee is better than doing nothing about equality which is what most of society does.

Give the lad a break. Been injured for 9 months. Don’t know how long he has been back in training but certainly didn’t get a warm up game. If he still not a goal threat after 2 or 3 more games then fair enough.

Agree Lesgeo. Might have been “normal” back in the 70’s but it wasn’t even vaguely funny even then.
The suggestion that the victim of the abuse is somehow to blame for not getting the joke is hopefully a joke in poor taste.

I can see possible value to the Premiership sides in being in the competition but it devalues the thing for L1 and L2 clubs.
The Man City coach was waxing lyrical about the benefit of Tuesday’s game for them although I find it hard to see what bendfit they get from playing against virtually an under 21 Scunthorpe side in an emptyish stadium that they don’t get in the Premiership U 21 League.
I totally support Cox playing the kids rather than risking further injuries to first team players at this stage of the season but it makes a mockery of the competition and little wonder fans don’t bother turning up.

I only watched on iFollow. Much as there is plenty to moan about at the club just now tonight’s match is not one of them.
Our youngsters plus Onariase and Davis from one of the self confessed lowest resourced clubs in English professional football got beat by the youngsters from one of the 2 or 3 top resourced clubs in the world.
Six of our players making their senior club debuts all who worked hard and showed some ability in a tough game for them. Be as negative as you like about why we had to play so many kids and whose responsibility that is but let’s not be slagging off kids representing our club and doing their best.
Last season we threw in the towel in an embarrassing manner. This season we worked hard but were beaten by a good team of excellent footballers.

Everything we have heard of Scrimshaw suggests he is not a lone striker.
e.g. 5 foot 9 inches, likes playing on the shoulder of the last man etc.
It would be unfair to ask the inexperienced Jessop to play up on his own so if we plan to win a home game against a likely bottom half team then perhaps we should play both of them?
More likely Cox will plan not to lose and hope for a set piece goal or a defensive howler from Sutton.
From what I have seen Sutton will bring a similar mindset so don’t be expecting a thrillfest this afternoon.
I am sure Sutton will play at least 1 striker though.
Only Cox and Guardiola favour the no striker option it seems.

Probably just shows we all have different opinions and life would be dull if we didn’t.
If any other supporter takes their time to post their views and marking on a game, then I will certainly take the time to read them.

Have not done any marking for a while as I don’t think marking players on the fairly limited view you get on iFollow is particularly fair.
For all I know Green might have made 5 killer runs into dangerous positions and not had the ball passed to him. If that was the case he deserves a 6 or 7.
Based on what he did with the ball on screen he deserves a 4 or 5.
If I’m at the game then I’m prepared to give my views as you get the full picture. That aside Lesgeo’s comments seem sensible to me but this board is nothing without different opinions.

Despite my slightly sarcastic 6-4-0 post earlier our best performance this season.
Played a little bit of football. Worked really hard.
Beeston was quality even before the goal. Been waiting to see Pugh in midfield and I’m not disappointed.
Down to the bare bones tonight but would have been a travesty to lose that one. First time Cox had responded with shape and substitutions in a positive way.
Sign of the times I’m delighted with a point against a very poor side.
