To be fair he has had lots of National League experience with the Cods.

Funny position goalkeeper. You wouldn’t want the Chelsea keeper if you based it on his performance last night.

You never know if things will change with a new owner UTI99.

We could be lucky and get someone who runs it as a hobby.

Before you know it we could even own our own ground and have a season or three in the Championship.

Knowing our luck though we will end up with an astute businessman.

An indisputable fact is that the financial and footballing fortunes of the Iron for the last four years are a net result of the decisions of the ex chairman. To be fair to Peter Swann he has never said anything to contradict that.

If you are happy with our financial and footballing performance in that time then you have nothing to protest about. So that category seems to be UTI99 and the odd random Cod that occasionally comes on here.

The rest of us should probably support any or all protests.

Will it change anything – very unlikely. It may convince a prospective new owner that there is something worth saving here.

Come on Awaywego – remember the sixties sitcom The Rag Trade and the catchphrase “Everybody out”.

I think the shop steward in that was a bit of a girl as well.

We gave away four or five other free kicks for definite fouls in similar positions. Just with this one they got the delivery right and we did not defend it well.

Remember when we were kids and everyone used to shout at us “play to the whistle”. Still good advice.

It might help having someone who knows a bit about football leading (in theory at least) the club.

Realistically it probably is just someone else to share the blame with Keith Hill.

    Spot on Les.

One of our best away performances this season and yes I know it’s a low bar.

Great to see a decent performance with Lewis, Gallimore, Rowe and Cribb having come through the youth system here. If you throw in Watson who wasn’t here as a youth but has never played league football anywhere else suggests a tiny light at the end of our very dark tunnel. Especially when you think Pugh and O’Malley would have been playing if they were fit.

You can send Taft off on his holidays Keith.

I think some on here might be in for an even more disappointing Saturday than we usually have if you think he is just going to write off his wasted £15m and quietly ride off into the sunset.

First time I have been looking forward to one of his statements since he announced the new stadium and imminent Championship football.

Give the lad a break. The lad hasn’t sat his GCSE’s yet and he is playing in midfield in a shite team.

He has a way to go but he has some skill and more heart than a few around him. Personally I dont think we should put a 16 year old into that situation in multiple games but let’s not be criticising him.
Plenty of older hairy arsed pro’s around him more deserving if you need to criticise players.

The club might be worth £15m in the sellers head. Doubt it’s worth more than 20% of that in the head of the potential buyers. That’s with the ground included.

Should we regard it as progress that rich black guys can now do as they like without consequence?

We’ve only had 1 miracle worker as a manager in my near 60 years and even he had to suffer 1 relegation albeit from the Championship.

I agree though Ferrite I wasn’t expecting Hill to keep us up but a glimmer of hope didn’t seem too much to ask.

Obviously it was. The other thing that now worries me is the ringing endorsement of Hill from the chairman.

With his track record we should be very afraid.

Suggest we wait to find out what triggered the resignation before deciding who the devil is.

It’s some achievement to be comfortably the worst player in a performance like that but Taft managed it.

Great post Jackie. I agree today we looked like one of Cox’s teams once they scored. No plan and no idea. Starting to have concerns about Hill.

Finally BS next home matchday if you are painting your fence can I come and watch if I give you a tenner?

Me and an Oldham fan I know agreed we were both nailed on for the National League back in early October.

Our only disagreement was which of us would finish bottom. Sadly I was correct.

They were still the original Wimbledon when they played at the Hockey Stadium.

The spade has been at work digging our grave.

    Scunthorpe United RIP!

How about a protest march on Easter Monday at 14:00. Coffin draped in claret and blue. Pall bearers and wreath, the full monty. March from OSG site to the clubs graveyard at the Sunken Sands.

Those that can still stomach going to the match watch in silence (that bit is easy these days). Wont affect the team as we will be relegated by the anyway.

Are we prepared to watch this happening without a word of protest?

Probably done with the best of intentions Alcy. Not worth the hassle for you (or Bru) to get into legal issues.

I do think some kind of protest regarding how the club was allowed to get into this position is called for. Apart from gate gate the Iron supporters are accepting a dire situation without a protest. Having a moan on here is neither useful or effective.

Delaney and Burns are decent players. Hackney has some potential as does Sinclair but both lack consistency and a bit of physicality.

Matheson I volunteer to drive back to Wolverhampton this week and I could call in by Shrewsbury and drop Pyke off as well.

Suspect Delaney and Sinclair would be the only possibles to actually sign. Delaney would be a yes (as a centre back not a full back) but not sure about Sinclair being right for a National League relegation fight.

I think Mansfield’s ground is the oldest still in use by a professional team but Bobby didn’t say it had to still be in use.

I think all of the current regime’s managers got the boot for one of 2 reasons.

Not obeying orders e.g. Alexander and Hurst.

Obeying orders e.g. Cox, Wilcox and Daws.

Not sure if Hill gets any orders.
