I doubt Ronaldo would have scored more than 3 or 4 playing for the teams we put out last season.
Perhaps surprisingly the OWS seems to be up to date with the first team squad. Further evidence of the club doing things better these days?

They have moved Gallimore from up front to midfield since adding the Carver signing.
If Carver is a genuine target man and he is good enough for this league then we might be able to keep the ball in the oppositions half for long enough to create some chances.
Trying to think of the last time we took the field with a genuine target man. Apart from Toney’s brief spell I am struggling to think of one. Wootton could have done it but was never given a real go at it.

I agree it is a very good deal for the Cods. They get to keep the precious one for the season but still pocket a bit of cash.
Only posted it because I couldn’t resist the lame joke.
This will be his 5th season with us, was in the team when we got relegated from League One…absolute madness that he got given a new 2 year deal!
So many seasons. So few games.
I agree IA and feel for the lad too. Cannot be a lot of fun constantly working at rehab and then back to square one every time he plays for a few minutes.
The really sad thing is after 3 years he has not played enough for us to know if he is any good or not.
Unlikely Hallam would choose to leave without having the full value of his contract paid up.
The chances of him getting a gig elsewhere must be close to zero.
1. Goalkeeper can kick the ball to players in his own team. Boyce tells Taft (and the rest of the defence) what to do and where to be. Butterfield has Grant’s capability and nous but his legs still work. Whitehouse has a bit of bite which we haven’t had in midfield since Bish left. Nuttall and Feeney are match fit – neither was last season. Beeston is over his long Covid.
Not saying we are great but we don’t have to be to be capable of beating last seasons team.
2. Can’t do anything about this one but the mystic that is known on here as Wondergoals says he will be gone this week.
First time we have been in the third round of a cup competition for a while.

Not questioning what you are saying WG. Indeed I really hope it’s true.
It’s just that there is a lot of recent history at the club of things that are “supposed to happen” not actually happening.

Not really clear if it is the prospective new owner(s) passing the FA test that will be announced or if it is agreement of a sale of the club.
I suspect that supporters will be told only once a deal is legally completed. The current owner has always been clear that his business arrangements are none of our business which of course is his perogitive.
If you have a good point to make you probably don’t need to SHOUT.

Bringing in a decent striker will probably involve a fee and a decent wage. Will that cause problems with those playing for peanuts?
If he scores lots of goals it won’t cause the slightest problem.
If he only matches the strike rate of recent Iron forwards then he won’t be the most popular lad in the dressing room.
What more do you require
Only one thing. Swann gone.
9 years of feck all he has talked about actually happening makes me a little cynical. I do so hope you’re right WG.

2 half decent forwards and a left sided centre back (is Delaney busy?) and we will hover between mid table and the edge of the playoffs.
Without and we will hover between low mid table and the bottom four.
Must have been nice for Keef to be able to sub all 10 outfield players.
Lost count how many times I have wished we could do that over the last 4 seasons.

It’s straight from the Serena Wiegman playbook NI. First 11 softens them up then the youngsters come on and bang the goals in.

I would probably have gone if any of these things had happened:
An announcement that the takeover was progressing.
Signing of a forward (or two).
A statement that the first team would be starting the game – this one has happened but 15 minutes before the kick off didn’t leave me with enough time to get there.

Lewandowski obviously got fed up with waiting and signed for some 2 bit Spanish outfit. Ronaldo still holding out for a call from Lee?

Always been convinced Alexander lost us that play off against Millwall in the first leg.
He set us up for a 0-0 but Millwall came out obviously nervous and couldn’t put 2 passes together. After 30 minutes they were so bad the crowd were on their backs and they were there for the taking.
We kept 10 men behind the ball and saw the game out without even trying to lay a glove on them. I remember saying to my oldest son who was with me that we would regret our tactics in the second leg because no way Millwall would be that bad again.
Cannot understand Alexander. Starts off Jurgen Kiopp and then morphs into Gareth Southgate.

I didn’t know you could do that but then I only use Twitter to see what the restaurant is serving.
If you follow Neil then he will follow you back then you will be able to see his tweets. That’s what I did last night anyway.
Neil Wright on twitter confirmed they have passed the Owners and Directors test!
So did Peter Swann. Let’s not be getting ahead of ourselves here.
Hope you are crowing loud and clear tomorrow Ex-Officio.
A lot depends on what the announcement is of course.
Would be marketing also if they told us few football related things. Just a few suggestions:
What are Ntle and Hallam’s latest injuries?
Is Daniel injured?
When might they return to training and/or the team?
Can we confirm/deny interest in the Aussie lad?
How many more signings does Kieth want to make?
Why have we not seen Foster yet?
Are we intending to play some/none/all of the first team at Farsley?
How many GCSE’s did Cribb get?
I get the incessant tweets to try and generate revenue but a bit if chatter about actual football might just generate a bit of connection with the club and the team.

Many announcements today already.
Season tickets are on sale.
Replica kit is on sale (some of it anyway)
Car parking is on sale (not many spaces left)
We just need to be told Sunday Lunch is available in the restaurant to have the full set!

Not even the whole family – allegedly.

Feeling a little underwhelmed if Regan Ogle is the big announcement.

Sign of the times when we get mildly excited by a lad that struggled to establish himself in the first team at Accrington and Hartlepool

Beat me to it Cass as you so often do.
