Not the best day from Howard, but Watson hasn’t covered himself in glory either when he has played.

‘’ after not being deemed good enough non-league club Barnet, El mhanni and Vincent had the last laugh’’

    Yes, at our expense.

At least this is starting to clear things up about why we are signing so much shit during the last couple of years. What’s your bets godders has some connection to the Swann’s or rodders.

Be interesting to get Lee Turnbull on the podcast for his thoughts.

just been chatting to Lee, got a new job as Head of Recruitment at Bradford City, he told me he wouldn’t have signed some of the players we signed and will hopefully do a podcast in a month or two.

Plays better with another striker with him, he has shown on 2 or 3 occasions he can be a handful, but sometimes he is woeful, but not on his own.

I can’t remember Steve playing as a lone striker very often unless we were down to 10, but he certainly would put himself about and Loft seems to play better with another striker with him and I don’t class McAtee as an out and out striker.

Two and a half years ago Martin Luther Swann said “I have a dream”, to have a team consisting of u23 players and young hungry players from non league and released league players with two or three seasoned players, who with a young manager will play exciting attacking football, unfortunately for one reason or another isn’t working out, we have had one or two decent results but the performances have been very non league at times, so after a last gap winner on Tuesday we thought the players would have had a lift but when we have played teams who have had bad results we perform badly and create nothing, we are certainly missing McGahey, Brown and Van Veen and again today we haven’t troubled the keeper, but got to admit the result and performance didn’t surprise me.

I didn’t watch it, I knew what to expect with our record of not turning up in local derbies, when McGahey and Van Veen are out we are leaderless and we are clueless, we got out of jail on Tuesday, when those two are playing it rubs off on the other players, going to be a long season.

I think Howard has had as many clean sheets in 10 games than Watson has had in his first team career, Rory will hopefully improve but remember Howard hadn’t played for a long while before coming here and though maybe stays on his line a lot that was a big problem with Rory also, Rory had a great game against Carlisle, and Howard had a great game against Orient, I personally think Howard has made the defence more confident but Rory needs to go out on loan because he could be a good goalkeeper but with a more experienced defence, I haven’t been disappointed with Howard personally and apart from maybe getting caught on his line a few times he has played well and only a goal in the swirling wind at Exeter can you really say was a keeper error.

    Accrington away 13/14
    Rochdale home 16/17
    Bristol Rovers home 17/18
    Barrow home 20/21

Since we beat Swindon at home 3-1 with a 88th minute equaliser and 2 more in injury time.

You tell me anymore, we have had about 6 or 7 equalisers including 2 last season.

    Well done Jordan Clarke.

already excuses because we can’t prepare for what they are going to do and we have that many players with slight injuries plus the major ones of cause, so god knows what sort of line up and formation we will put out tonight, just hope we remember we have a better chance of winning if we attack and have shots at goal rather than sit back and hope for a breakaway.

So you think a 5’7” full back is going to beat a 6’2” player to win a header when the big lad is running towards the ball, Mason wasn’t even a a position to get flattened.

about the ball crossing the line, nobody really appealed about it crossing the line, it is so hard to judge.
regarding the goal, it was crossed from Clarke’s side and not O’Malley’s, so seeing it was scored in the middle of the goal it was more the central defence and not the full back not covering when it wasn’t the winger coming in from wing to score, it was a well taken goal.

Agree leaving all three forwards out together instead of maybe rotating one each game probably cost us, yet it’s the best I have seen us play and any luck we had Saturday we didn’t today.

    Howard 6, Clarke 6, McGahey 6, Onaraise 7, O’Malley 7, Spence 6, Beestin 7, Green 6, Jarvis 5, Taylor 5, Gillihead 8.

Too many attacking changes in one go when we have just started scoring a few goals.

I certainly don’t like racism, but have no idea what the knee achieves, everyone is equal in my eyes but don’t know why we have to do everything the Americans do, surely there has to be a better way.

I think the COVID break did us good because we have only lost one since.

    Positives since then.

Experienced keeper, will also help Rory Watson
    Signing Junior Brown
Eisa and McAtee back in the first team
Clarke, McGahey and Van Veen back in the team or squad for some games
The emergence of O’Malley, Beestin, Onaraise and Rowe at league level
Finding a system that doesn’t totally isolate Loft
Spence getting some form in this league
    And Gillihead being outstanding
And also 4 4 2 which I hope the manager sticks with

Playing 4 4 2 and your best available line up makes a massive difference.

Howard and the back four outstanding, O’Malley and Beestin two good prospects, but a good performance apart from the first 20 minutes.

Howard 8. Made 3 excellent saves including a penalty
Clarke 8. Massive influence, nearly scored a spectacular header
    Onoraise 8. Excellent
    McGahey 8. Excellent
O’Malley 9. MOM, made a goal and some great tackles
Spence 7. Getting better and better
Beestin 8. Like O’Malley becoming a great find
    Gillihead 7. Good game
McAtee 7. He has got his mojo back
Loft 7. Took his goal well, decent performance
Eisa 7. Mixed bag, not as good as the other night

Subs 6. Not on long enough to give a real Mark but didn’t do any wrong

Ref 7. seen a lot worse but a dubious penalty

Orient have won 3 on the trot, and Cox said they have done their homework on them so could go back to 3 central defenders and a right wing back.
