I think Mike White said yesterday that Peter Swann was going to do a video interview with him today.
Matt about time for another Chairman Podcast.
Certainly since we lost to Rotherham in the playoffs three years ago the club have gone totally backwards, whether the chairman has lost a lot of interest or it’s the failed new ground I have no idea but it certainly isn’t the best time to support the club.
over the last three years we have had 20% of good signings, 40% of average signings and 40% of awful signings and two years ago those last fourteen games which yielded six points will haunt us supporters for years, this year has been a joke with the summer recruitments, it was a good job we brought Howard, Karacan and Taft in or we would be at the bottom well adrift, like last season we have had numerous injuries and players have been brought back early because of injuries and then they break down again, generally we have a big squad and over 50% aren’t league standard and we need to get rid of these players who need non league football to progress.
three or four players have come through the u23s but with the number of players who won’t make it and the cost have having a manager to run it and extra coaches I wonder if it is too costly to run at the first teams expense, and to me starting the u23s was when we went downhill, regarding this season I think we will creep over the line but if we had two or three games more I think we would struggle and you start thinking of two years ago.
But regarding this season I think it’s the most boring football I have seen for years and tactically it’s been awful for most of the games, we hardly have a shot at goal and give goals away too easily, especially from free kicks and corners, four games this season we haven’t even had a shot at goal on target and two of these games were at home, the only good thing about the season is we haven’t had to sit in the cold watching it.
Will next season be better, I don’t know but it can’t get much worse.
Can Neil Cox improve things, I don’t know but I want him to get a team that plays attacking football rather than sitting back and hoping for breakaways, so tactically he needs to improve things or nobody will be going back to watch.
Sounds like Cox wasn’t too impressed with players who leaving and some who will still be here.
but we seem to change the center half pairings every game through either one been unfit or brought back too soon, all 5 have had problems and when was the last time the same two played together.
les I wasn’t being harsh I was just stating fact, everyone knows Rory has played well this last few games but the players in front of him are not, whether it is all the swapping about with injuries I don’t know but the defence don’t look the same without Howard there.

“WATSN—7—Stopped this from being an even worse hammering.good job no Howard !!”
is it just coincidence BS, but since Rory got back in goal we are conceding at least twice as many goals a game, 12 in 5 inc a clean sheet, Howard had conceded 36 in the previous 31 games, he might be playing decent himself but he doesn’t inspire the defence in front of him, Howard organizes them better.

bloody hell I was amazed we had drawn two.

So that’s a fourth game without a shot on target, one shot off target and 2 corners, all in the first half, not good enough, you have off days but now it is every game.

We certainly want league 2 quality players, a couple of Bishop and Dawson type players and a prediter to play with Loft would be a start, a lot of players need to go and we don’t want a summer of signing anymore non league players unless from National League Premier, a smaller squad to pay for better players.
but Tottenham won’t be scared of Forest Green, Morecambe, Stevenage and a few others.
if we had a team of Premier standard we would still play backs to the wall negative football.
Win would be nice, Win Win is asking too much.

Who when he has played as been one of the best.
I said a couple of days ago we are relying on other clubs to keep us up, and after 2 years ago I won’t be happy until we are safe.

We just don’t look like a team playing as a singular unit at all. And I thought Cox had made us more solid at the back? Our defending is embarrassing, especially from set pieces!
though he played well today it’s strange that when Rory is in goal the defence is all over the place and we have started conceding goals for fun like early season, though it was the defence and not Rory today.
Another shocking performance and the result flattered us, but for some terrible defending for their last 2 goals we could have won it, Watson made some good saves including a penalty but possibly could have done better with the third goal, but our defending from set pieces was comical at times, very disappointing seeing we turned around with possibly our only 2 efforts on target, first half we were terrible and they had corner after corner, a big sort out is needed and Cox won’t be happy.
but Cox hasn’t had the faith in our players to play real attacking football so he says.
we are about safe but we technically more relying on other teams beating Southend and Grimsby than us getting 5 points on our own.
the club needs building around Jem he certainly cares, it’s OK taking the cheap option at the start of a season but it might cost more in January to get away from the bottom than getting a decent team to start with, just need a smaller squad to get costs down.

Thames A.F.C. is correct NI but that wasn’t the question!
well what was the question he didn’t answer, Thames FC played at the West Ham Stadium which held 120,000, I was only reading a article about them a few weeks ago.
he was given a crap hand with the summer signings, but all the players last night including subs were either signed by Cox or were here the previous season apart from Spence who might have been signed before he arrived.
Cox not a happy bunny with some of his players by his interview with Mike White
I notice by the stats that they only had four shots on target.
also if you are paying for a loan player if you don’t play him you aren’t getting value for money, apart from the fact he has played well.
now 12.30 so not a big problem
I am surprised he hasn’t been given a chance on the bench.
Your match day post was hijacked straight away and went downhill from there Mick.
I don’t start the matchday thread for myself I start it for Matt because he is busy at the moment, normally he would start it himself so if he forgets I or sometimes someone else will start it because putting it all on one thread saves a lot of space on the server which over time will fill up and will cause issues in the future, generally people stick to it but UTI99 only stated something that everyone was replying to in the other thread it wasn’t something different, other clubs use a matchday thread for the same reason and others use a summer transfer thread for the same reason and pin it to the top or you soon get pages of rumours.

And why not post it in the match day thread like Matt wants people to use to save disc space.
Enjoyed the game today and everyone put a good shift in and we deserved a point, I don’t think we had a man of the match but I would give everyone a 7, nobody played badly and seeing we had a patched up team and possibly a couple of players maybe wouldn’t have started and normally two more might have come off injured but stuck it out I have nothing but praise for the effort, even Rory kept a clean sheet and made one good save from a corner, was pleased with the referees performance seeing they were trying to get penalties but he wasn’t having it, no idea what was up with Eisa but it was great to see Joe Murphy back here and just a pity there wasn’t a crowd to give hive a ovation.
