I saw it earlier and Trinity have signed a player who we have never replaced.

Most clubs in the lower divisions are getting rid of the high earners, I am sure a lot of them when they realise there is no big pay cheques will then be happy to to take a drop rather than go on the dole or work in a factory or office.
I never post a Scunthorpe win either, but 3 12 point results on the last day made up for the Mansfield scores that appeared and then disappeared again the other week after I thought I hadn’t done it, but well done Toney because I was surprised I was still 4th a fortnight ago never mind a mad last set of scores, but well done Matt and the others who have helped to support bru over the last 12 months.
don’t forget we got McAtee out of Shrewsbury reserves and had been on loan at Northern Premier League level clubs, so wasn’t probably a high earner here, I would love to see a fit Hallam and didn’t he have a operation to sort his problems.
SCARY, to put it mildly.
But some who turned down contracts may get a shock.

It doesn’t matter who goes you have to remember we finished 3rd bottom and lucky we didn’t finish in the bottom 2, sorry to see KVV go but he hasn’t set the world alight when he has played this season, I see we are trying to keep McGahey and Gillihead, can’t see it happening but I would have pushed the boat out to have kept Howard and Karacan, the disappointing thing is out of the players remaining less than half of them are good enough or experienced enough.

only the ones that can make a differnce.

just waiting from approval from Wondergoals and UTI99.
it was when Howard got injured a few weeks back we started conceding goals for fun though Rory played well, is it the defenders try to protect him more than Mark and make mistakes instead, the proof is in the stats, can’t understand how he got a new 2 years contract a year ago after all his gaffs, he is OK as a no 2 but isn’t consistent enough, previous season we conceded a lot, put Eastwood in the team and started keeping clean sheets.
You will be going out now, so will ring you on my mobile to fool you.
I will give you a call tomorrow Barrie.
I feel the same as you and completely agree, I was going to give it one more season because I may give the car up in another year because I have got problems with dry eyes and it is severe in my left one, I can see OK but it is really irritating, and still don’t know what it would be like watching live football.

should he be surprised, he needs to do something to get the fans interested, signing players you have never heard of and now no match day programme he has to do something amazing because what we saw last season on iFollow will not have fans rushing to buy season tickets, even chunkier chips and a new selection of pies in the kiosks will do it, we want to see a couple of interesting signings before the end of the month who the fans may say wow to, not reserve players from North Ferriby etc.

Hmm. A reserves team? – Why would that eat up a huge budget?
I moaned when we stopped having one – it gives so many opportunities to: keep fringe players fresh; get injured players moving gradually to match fitness – and also an opportunity for two or three youngsters to have first encounters with the pro game. When last we had one, it was unusual not to see five or six youngsters featuring which was downright silly. Used sensibly – could be a good option.
when we had the reserve team last I think it wasn’t used properly, we rarely gave a game to the lads on the first team bench and only played players if they were back from injury for an hour, 90% of players were youth team players who had played the previous Saturday.
It’s not feasible for a league 2 team of our size and hopefully it will free up a bit of money for the first team, but will hold my breath on that one.

We aren’t getting relegated so no need to protest, the only thing we can protest about is we might have to go to the ground to watch it next season instead of iFollow.
But Stevenage have learnt from the lucky let off from last season and have signed some decent players, what disappoints me is when we go a goal behind we make little effort to equalise, we don’t seem to change our negative game plan and give it a go, even yesterday when there was nothing at stake we still went through the motion’s and never tried to play entertaining football and have a go.

I could name a couple on here who would have a gleam on their face for a couple of hours before it would sink in.

Been told this evening that Wilcox has been let go aswell the whole U23 setup
….and you were told by who Smudger, an official source I presume?
I know who told Smudger, and he didn’t want it putting on bru at the moment.
If Bedeau went on a free because we couldn’t afford his wages it’s about time they got rid of the u23s, because it’s becoming a expensive failure.

To me this is the worst squad we have had at Glanford Park, I think Peter Swann has lost interest after the new ground not happening and with the players remaining and the budget I think we swap places with Grimsby and Southend next season, there is no buzz or excitement coming out of the club and only doom and gloom, we don’t play too bad but are no threat in front of goal and I am sure any other club would throw the Kitchen Sink to try to get a point but we just carry on waiting for something to happen.

Again their keeper didn’t have a serious save to make, poor performance and no fight to try to win the game, Les I don’t know what Howard could have done with the goal seeing the defender missed it he didn’t have time to react.
I am pleased it isn’t here you would get soaked.
You don’t have his name on the back of your replica shirt then Les.

It’s OK having a Summer like last season and get rid of the high earners and replace them with lower non league players, but what do they gain when you have to sign quality players in January to get us out of trouble.

Things went downhill after the defeat to Rotherham in the playoffs, it would have been interesting to know what we would have done if we had got promoted that season, we probably wouldn’t have sold Townsend, Wallace and Holmes etc, so apart from the extra revenue would we still have thrown the towel in because we did that summer and UTI99 has kept dropping the budget since.

They might be back in less than a month
Whoever wins these 2 games only holds the Trophies until the end of the month.
Harrogate are playing in the Trophy Final.
Matete is a non starter, Fleetwood value him at £800k, so surprising him being on loan at Grimsby.
By his interview yesterday it sounded like he still wants some experience.
