local CCTV footage clost to GP has appeared seemingly showing LT either going on a scouting mission or a job interview in Grimsby ..the latter is doubtful as he isnt wearing any PPE or Hazmat suit.

Studying the image it also appears he may have been released from the local prison … an investigation is on going by an Interested Bystander

i truly hope after offering Scunny fans burgers when they visit Ilkeston Patrick doesnt end up with egg on his face metophorically speaking and no connection with the current egg supply crisis in the town.
Best of luck to Hollywood Wrexham ..they are on a roll even the council chucking 25 mil sheep ..i mean quid to revamp the RCG with a new kop stand .. hey NLC you listening ??

On a sadder note i was reading an article re Yeovil and my crusty old memory got reminded they much like Scunny but more recent where in the Championship … arguably the Iron fans best day this season was the opening day win over them and now both relegated…pleased them Maidstone and and possibly Torguay will be in the Southern tho York are back in the mix now but the minstermen play Aldershot who will have on foot on the beach after reaching the safe zone so expect them to survive.

Anyone know the most Northern located side in the NLS ?? they could well be coming our way

Got my season ticket. My money, my choice. Don’t need anybody to tell me what to do. If you have stopped going to watch fine but stop moaning on here you have made your choice. If the club folds in future will get my football fix elsewhere but in the meantime I am an Iron fan.

Pretty much sums it up .. positive news is that according to the SUFC website its very very busy at the ticket office so much so they are struggling to engage fully with telephone queries with staff all busy.
Be very interesting to see how many early bird STs are sold and also those sold after the GP is resolved. I really hope both home attendances and away traveling fan numbers remain high and im sure they will if he football and results are good.

@ AWAYWEGO my daughter contacted me and they got their STs yesterday… i forgot to ask in which part of GP , for my distant crusty old fart sins my choice would be the Britcon but im guessing they went for the posh seats.

    IB
Your fascination ,no obsession with hunting down DH to the extent of what his favourite bog roll is and if hes tanga or boxer really has become more tedious than the media v Harry n Megs … to you and a hand full of others it may be of interest and make your trousers move alas me and im guessing most other normal SUFC fans just dont give a shit and are simply waiting to see the outcome re the GP issue ..DH saved our club paid off its tax and other debts for that alone i am very grateful

Agree with whoever posted this thread should be moved to the non football section where it can be ignored more easily or followed by those who do find it of any importance.

I trimmed some grass last night .. i think its called a Brazilian ..lord knows the Iron could do with one or two of them in the side in its current plight.

We got flip flopper Pat pushing his big bad burger bun box spouting one minute “up the Iron” next its yer going down (not very nice to his chum DH).. then Intense Bystander on his crusade searching through more caves and turning over more stones then David Attenbourough when in reality I for one wont give a rats arse about the past if DH comes up with the doe for GP and the club can finally move on… not interested at all in Hilts past its the present and future that counts.

Realizing his big chance to land the SUFC catering gig via the back door may have passed him by looks like Patrick is now wishing DHs Iron get relegated again and has flounced the forum .. fear not im guessing a few Scunny fans will be their to test the hospitality for the pre season friendly.

    IMO

Football and the teams that partake in the great game go through cycles not always but more so and especially within the mid to lower sized less well funded range of clubs.

Any club can suffer a fall from grace for a variety of reasons in our case and others very poor ownership also points deductions from breach of EFL rules etc .. Derby Sunderland Reading Wigan to name just 4 who have dropped down the football ladder due to poor management and spending , Bury Macclesfield were lost totally whilst the likes of the Cods , Stockport and York fell into the abyss and came back stronger and are on the up again… at some point in time most clubs will go through some bad times , really bad in some cases ..of course others see fantastic new era ala Wrexham who you got to fancy to go through the EFL all the way to the Championship or beyond ..thats the flip side of the coin and where Scunny were in yester year.

My point being .. the shit that has happened at Scunny is very sad for its loyal fans and the town but it isnt that unusual and most certainly not the end of the world so hopefully with a new owner the fans remaining loyal and backing the team theres no reason why within 5 years the club could be back in the EFL

I hope your going to stand the increase for them IFA, what happens if Hilton doesn’t come up with the money to buy the ground? Will they not buy a season ticket and disappoint the eldest grandkid? Ask the grandkid if he’s bothered who owns the ground mine don’t give a flying f all they want to do is see as many scunny games home and away as they can, all the grandkids will see is some sad old fart in a distant country being a knob. For f sake you were one of the lads in toppo’s van you’ve had your enjoyment out of the club let the grandkids have theirs. Ps Have you told the grandkids on what you used to get up to so they know the boundaries to adheer to lol.

Valid points and some history thrown in as well thanks … i do suffer from SML sporadic memory loss so accidently forgot to tell them re away day exploits of yester year

As i said i only advised them ,they are old enough and wealthy enough to do as they wish so covered myself on appearing to be a knob..i absolutely love the fact my family back home want to support the club, and very happy they seem to want to do so to the extent of becoming ST holders, my point is IF there is a problem re DH and the GP ownership issue and it doesnt happen where would home games be played Swan could just lock the gates and auction GP off or grow spuds on the pitch WHO KNOWS ???…sadly this senario would leave ST holders and their families young n old where exactly ???

Agree entirely with CBRP post , the early bird offer ending in April before the end of another disasterous season and without the takeover completed fully re GP is bonkers.

My daughter n son in law are buying STs as the eldest grand kid is hooked after the grass roots day , even though it will cost slightly more (nobody knows how much yet but cant be too much surely) i advised them to wait until after the GP issue is resolved which is exactly what i would do if was doing the same…

Turn up early enough you might even get a game with a name like Pele ..

Looking at current attendances in NLN many away fixtures could possibly have more Scunny fans then home so would be hard to enforce proper segregation.

Well ironfromafar, I would think that fans still turning out for Scunny away games will probably be placed in “straight jackets” because to be traveling to matches in the second level of none league games, you will be assessed to have a possible tile loose.

Excuse my rather obtuse terminology Barts.. after being away so long i will be overjoyed to travel to see the Iron when back in the Uk this coming season wherever they play home or away ..Tier 6 is unfortunate but hey ho ..

A few forum members who joined recently are attempting to sow the seeds of doubt. The trouble is that we are in a better place since Hilton purchased our club. He pulled us out of the deep doo doo, then payed off our debt with the tax man. We now have to look to the future, now that we have one, and give the man a chance to build success. I will now ignore conspiracy theorists on here. At the end of the day, Swann is gone, things will only get better.

    UTBI

Yep pretty much how i see it .. Hilts has done no harm n saved the club and paid the debts .. see where things go from here .. or May 24 should i say.

Defo a few renegade characters joining the forum lately their motives true or shady all easy peasy taken n with a pinch of salt at my end ..too easy to sort the wheat from the chavs as my old gran used to say.

Re signings …. sounds like its Turnbull Nelson Plummer combined with JD having the final yey or ney

Whose to say after the season ends a club wont come in for Nelson as their new manager, pretty sure he would seriously consider any offer of an actual management position and IMO could do a good job NLN NL levels.

Max 5 of this current bunch should stay with most members already pretty much all naming the same names .. alas still gonna have a couple of permacrocs on the books who should be paid off , given away or assassinated.
** Whitehouse needs to be back and played

Agree things need to happen quickly with regard to getting new faces in to give them a proper pre season together plus the later you leave it the more chance you end up with dreggs n left overs.

    Thats a funny vid …

Lets get May 24th sorted first ..after which if all goes well..
The fans will pay a huge part of life in the NLN .. getting a confidence boosting good start and a few positive results is massively important as should swell attendances and fans traveling to away games which in turn will make many seem like a home game… in reverse dont want to even imagine a bad start more doom gloom n negativity which will make for a long hard season.

After a pre season and new signings a dozen games in things will be clearer ..

It is not Hilton’s choice to not take credit cards. It has been forced on the club and several other clubs and is well documented.

he should have paid the bond !!
he should have paid phone bill
he should have paid the pension contributions
he should have paid the accountants
he isn’t Mates with Alan Hardy !!
If he pays swann ill bare my arse in costa coffee window at first game next season

Didnt Mr Hilton confirm he already had the funds to pay Swan fro GP during the recent podcast ?? nothing to worry about then

With regard to your last point .. insider .. no photos it didnt happen so we will be expecting a nice crisp clean clear image of a freshly debugged shaven zit free rear end, not something lacking general hygiene and resembling the surface of the moon …plan ahead and prepare such is my confidence DH will rock up with the wonga.

We have held season tickets for many years but this is the first time we are unsure as to purchase. Why is the cheaper deadline so early in April. It has always been by the end of May previously and is not considering supporters finances particularly in this present climate. The signing over of our stadium and land is yet to be completed we are told by Hilton on the 24th May. If this were not to happen we could be left with season tickets invalid and no refunds due to paying by cash. We do not have prices neither for the payments after the April deadline. This is not helping supporters who are willing to put money into our Club for the season and support week in week out and who like to sit in seats which they have for many seasons.

Cant disagree with any of that post .. i wouldnt be parting with any cash for a season ticket until after the GP ownership issue is resolved ..by which time the price has increased .. seems unfair.

nail on the head time there cass … after the utter dross thats been served up by this group just why some are playing for contracts is head shaking , as ive previously said i would keep max 5 of this current crop (Chappo Elliot Ogle plus 2 of Shrimpton Wilson Butterfireld but he wont stay surely) the rest can buggar off ..Carver n Hallam have to stay to keep the Physio in a job

In the recent interview JD did say how players would be sourced and that he would have the final yes or no …that thought actually is quite scary.

For my sins i tuned in and listened to the commentary yesterday … from what i heard it seemed like a slightly better performance and at least suspect players dropped and the team had ago with 2 up front and actually scored.
No excuses but ref was poor very inconsistent re pulling back play after there was no advantage played on and Elliot put the ball in the net yet for Shots second goal play was pulled back and they scored from the free kick (with Codner totally unmarked i might add)
Ferris missed a sitter and Wilson missed when easier to score to equalize.

BEST OF ALL .. the only bright spot was great to listen to Nigel Adkins in the commentary box , his thoughts expert analysis and banter were miles better than Cox stale cliche ridden word salads…Sir Nigel commented re using the wingers and pressing opposition wing backs forcing them back amongst other very noticeable advice, oh how Scunny could do with his services again…absolute diamond of a fella.

The best and the worst top 5 past n present Scunny managers ..anyone not mentioned means they were deemed IMO mediocre.

My somewhat dusty old memory goes back to 1983 to John Duncan to Alan Clarke

    https://www.soccerbase.com/teams/team.sd?team_id=2263&teamTabs=managers

    Best
    Laws
    Adkins
    Alexander
    Hurst
    Buxton
    * both Hurst n Alexander fell fowl of Swan

    Worst
    Hill
    Cox
    Mcall
    Nic Daws
    Knill

yep its a strange one … wasnt impressed at all when he was at Scunny (a clue maybe being under Hill)… i do recall him being in aleague on his own when it came to getting booked ent off and suspended…regardless i wish the lad well he may well be in the EPL next season it is very tight in and around the Championship play off places.

Gateshead beating Eastleigh away 5-2 and now in 14th on 52 points ..they are on fire and playing great football.. Torguay winning 4 on the bounce giving themselves a fighting chance of survival at the expense of Scunnys opponents today Aldershot…Oldham were deep in the relegation mix as were Dorking and York…now all in the clear.

My point being at no point what so ever did i get the slightest feeling or optimism that the Iron had a run of winning games in them .. henceforth i think i like many other fans pretty much knew and excepted it wasnt gonna end well regardless of the take over and signings… YES we all kept seeing the MUST WIN games drift by without a win and hoped again after the Wealdstone result..
IMO this was down to a few factors the main one being the seemingly negative mentality of the players and some strange tactical decisions by the manager.

I really hope as commented by Stu on the IRON WORLD yt channel that the fans keep the faith and get behind the new owner and club with decent attendances and away support as both will give a boost to the players…
How long JD will be manager depends purely on the results first third of the NLN season , bearing in mind we will be operating on a full time basis and being arguably the biggest club in the league anything less than top few places should see JD gone , Scunny fans should not have to suffer yet another mediocre mid table position and call that ok or a success .. and if god forbid at the bottom might as well bin the lot n grow potatoes on the GP pitch.

Looking forward trying to remain positive ..the retained list will be interesting and hopefully very short after all the loan spongers have departed ..i find JD comments that some are playing for deals a tad strange .. WTF surely after circa 17 games he should know already who should remain both on mindset and ability ..time will tell.
