Are they hoping to bump into someone with several million pound on the way down who can afford to buy the club?
Maybe they are hoping to bump into you and that you would introduce yourself, that would be interesting.
Yes he was mentioned once in the report and easily collected a Gainsborough shot, never mentioned after that.I Presume, unlike Watson with the usual shit show defending in front of him against better and high league placed opposition, he had nowt to do, again unlike Watson who normally has to pull off several heroic saves during a game before being beaten in the end. Wonder how many Foster would have let in last Saturday against the leaders of league 2?, I guess if Hill had more faith in Foster over Watson he would play him in the first team, yeah?
Expand on your comment you would ” keep it “, that is no answer really to the OP, keep.it and what? Let’s not start wandering off point here and speculating about Swann’s financial position, we are not privy to it but you could let everybody know about your plans after you had ” kept it “.
You would Ironawe, but I doubt whether your wife or family would let you do it, it’s oh so easy to spend or give away other peoples money.
Difference is I’m an Iron fan, the current owner isn’t.

Well if he does that then he really is a poor businessman because other clubs are run on smaller budgets then us due to smaller fan bases and manage to keep going.

I would put the club up for sale for a £1 and gift the ground back to the club as part of the sale then walk away feeling so ashamed for being so bloody incompetent at running such a valued local asset with big historical significance to the local area, in such a ridiculous un business like way and creating this awful situation for the population of this town and local area. I would also apologise to the fans and people of this area for how far I had dragged THEIR CLUB down.

Some good points there Foxstreetfiveseven but let’s look at other considerations that need looking at since the early sixties and the Barrie Thomas era. True some fans did stop going but as the club fell down the league structure it was hard to judge attendances as a result of Barries transfer because the club was on a downward spiral. Also attendances rose pro rata when different eras since brought promotions, we have seen 7 or 80000 + gates at different times over different decades for some league games. We have seen a crowd of over 17000 for a league cup tie with Arsenal in the same decade Barrie was sold, we saw 19000+ against Newcastle in the mid seventies long after both Clemence and Keegan had been sold so some big crowds have been achievable since Barries time with us but regular 10000 gates did drop off it’s true but don’t forget other reasons were to blame too.
As working families found more income to spend on leisure football wasn’t the be all and end all of people’s lives anymore. Most working families began buying cars for the first time ever therefore gaining more independence and freedom of choice to do other things with their leisure time and this has continued over the years. People play more sport themselves, people go away for more weekends, they take longer holidays and a lot of these abroad. There are more things in life for people to do then ever before so following the local football team, particularly one that is struggling does not seem so attractive anymore and don’t forget the spectre of Sky and it’s constant live Premiership coverage if you are willing to pay and it would appear a lot of people are. Yes there are diehards and always will be but if the Iron had an upturn in fortunes then crowds would rise pro rata again so things are not quite as cut and dried as you make out IMO about the future of fans never reappearing. The hostility to The owner from a lot of the current fan base is undoubtedly massive right now but as Blackpool fans proved awhile back that if the owner eventually moves on then crowds will return and we should keep remembering that. Plus I feel that if by some miracle we find ourselves competing near the top of the National League next season then the home attendances will be more healthy then they currently are. That’s my take on it anyway.7 users thanked author for this post.
That seems a good analysis Daz, maybe you should have put at the start or the end, ” all this post is just my considered opinion “. You know how touchy some people get when others see things differently E.G. Putin.

Someone else might be able to answer that. I never buy the food. Occasional tea or coffee
I never buy anything another than a match ticket. I go armed with chewing gum and tic tacs which does me till I can get out of that farcical football hell hole till the next home game. Up the Iron and Swanny please do one.
If we go out of business and SUFC ceases to exist does that nullify the 99 year guarantee that a football ground will remain on the current site for that length of time? If so would that enable Swann to redevelop the site for housing, is this right of wrong? Any explanations out there please?
Come on guys it’s just repetition now, move on.
” seem to be ” 😂😂😂

Good point MK, the amount of times you see professional players at all levels in the game stop playing and appeal to the referee for a free kick for a foul they believe has taken place. It’s not up to players to make a decision it’s up to the referee, that’s the referees job, the players job is to keep bloody playing until the referee let’s them know different. Unprofessional on the players part when they stop without the whistle IMO, only situation where you should is if you think a fellow players life is in danger or an obvious serious injury has occurred.
Rats leaving a sinking ship comes to mind.

We’ve said why several times,Awaywego. There’s only so many times you can explain something.
Ditto, I believe on this occasion the thanks have it.
Revolving door works okay for Watford. The reason a lot come and a lot fail isn’t due to the length of time they’re given.
Bad comparison DM, you could say the same of Chelsea at different times over the last 15 years or so, the difference? Both those clubs have money to burn compared to us so I believe our lower level restricts our options manager wise based on being skint. We can’t afford to keep changing managers and must play things a different longer way. Premier clubs can afford in the main to chop and change.

Outraged 😂😂😂 bit ott.
Long weekend or lost weekend?
He should quit looking in the mirror hoping for Perfect Skin and get on the website to announce his Perfect Plan. E.G. Sell up, move on and give us OUR ground back.

Tony Daws wanted to release Cribb a few years ago…
Matt Sparrow was going to be released as a youngster but in his final six months they moved him from forward to midfield and the rest ( 2 goals in a Wembley play off final ) is history.
Lester lives near Mount Belzoni. It’s just off the M18.
Just up the road from Steely Dan then!
1. BBC stats gives us 5 shots on target, I don’t remember their keeper making a save. ( I might have dropped off )
I’ve watched the highlights cass and their keeper made a double save second half and we hit the post first half. Stay off the afternoon whisky mate, unless it’s single malt of course.

Ain’t gonna happen nor should it, the problem is the owner and the way he perceives a professional football club should be run, till he goes nothing will change and that includes bringing in manager after manager ad nauseam with the same outcome. New owners, fresh ideas and the knowledge of how letting managers and playing staff work together with a reasonable budget, decent professional scouting and the ability to allow the people you employ are given the time, space and resources to build something for the future. Another knee jerk reaction to a one nil away defeat to the best team in the division is not what’s required now. Bring on this bloody statement and let’s hope the main culprit is selling up and we get OUR ground back in the process, not holding my breath on both those outcomes but we can all hope.

So facts don’t count then, how very well argued, not.
All will become clear in the next 24 hours when the great and powerful one releases yet another landmark statement, or he’s running away and hiding.

We won’t be going until it’s all over.
Just give us a shout when we have a new owner.
3 folk will make our way back to Glanford Park.
But sorry I’m painting the fence till then.Must be a bloody long fence RB, you can come round and paint mine if you get finished anytime soon.
Where do we find these accounts?
Scrawled on the toilet wall underneath the West Stand I believe. 🤔

Our last chief operating officer was reportedly on £250k several years ago, so if that was the sort of carrot dangled there’s little wonder LT accepted.
😂😂😂 I bet he’s on nothing like that vader but I guess it was a tongue in cheek remark by you anyway.
That’s fair enough Sanfran, so when Swann said on the podcast Cribb was staying he could not guarantee that really, bit like building a new ground, redeveloping the current stadium or building the flats to provide the club an income rather then just be reliant on gate receipts. In fact it’s the same old drivel we have been hearing for about nine years now.

Swann will always be in the firing line on here and on Humberside, if anybody bothers to call in that is. He is the man totally responsible for our clubs position and he will never be allowed to forget it. The new name above the chairman’s door means nothing it will always be Swann carrying the can even long after he’s gone, hopefully not too soon.
