You sometimes have to stick your head above the parapet in the interests of the fans and the club you support when you run these football forums, they should have interviewed Hilton he now owns the club therefore it’s very relevant to the Bru members.

Well the majority on this forum have always wanted more local people/ businessman/ women involved on the board, it happened under Steve Wharton and the club has never been run as efficiently for a club our size since. I welcome more local involvement.

I would also add that whether we like/ dislike Swann etc, have we all been fake account holders on here for so many years just waiting for the right time to like/dislike/ agree or trash the next owner of our club?. Quite bizarre the way social media is used sometimes and appears to have such a hold over certain people.

It’s an area of the world that just doesn’t get a moment’s relief, there is always some conflict arising out of someone else’s actions, very sad and a very unsettled time for all concerned. Not sure what the solution is TBF, it’s such a complicated situation with both sides have very valid points but it’s a real shame a compromise can’t be found but alas it’s s been going on for so long and is so bitter. What hope for the children from that region, none I’m afraid.

Sounds like they have finally run out of money and if staff can’t be paid ( some for three months apparently) then I’m not sure what the answer is TBH. Until dodgy owners of football clubs become a thing of the past through some kind of legislation then I guess some clubs will continue to go under. Absolute crying shame for Southend who had a long and proud membership of the Football League and you would think if run properly would have been back in the league sooner than later but alas things are looking grim for them at the moment, hopefully a rescue package gets put together quick. Feel really sorry for their fans who have supported them magnificently since dropping into non league.
