Can you remember the days when Brian Laws came in the radio and said he was disappointed because we had 20 plus attempts on goal and only scored four!

No wonder all the dials on his radio were sticky.

Why.. because they lost a meaningless friendly?

Exactly and today they won a meaningless friendly, some people just don’t get pre season.

Round about 2008-9 I should reckon mick, did Ben May come on for Hayes in that cup tie against Alfreton when Haysey fractured his cheekbone. 🤔

2-0 up and the usual idiots more interested in point scoring, there’s a surprise.

If you’re referring to me, I was being very tongue in cheek (as the asterisk should have made obvious). I don’t want to be serious all the damn time.

Probably referring to the difference between mayo and salad cream myself and ironfromafar were laughing about, some miserable gits about.

Wasn’t it an e-mail with an attachment to open explaining the clubs position? There are 150 of them I believe in the system, seems a perfectly reasonable way to contact them, it’s 2023 not 1963.

I’m 68 Patrick, have watched the Iron since 1964, haven’t done pre season friendlies since 1977 as I believe them to be a waste of time and money but hey that’s my opinion and I do hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow but I don’t need any help advice from you but thanks all the same. Peace and karma and I hope your sausages are well received by the Iron fans tomorrow, as for the result, I don’t care because it means nothing I just want all our players back uninjured after another fitness workout before the real stuff begins.

Funny our town hasn’t been talking about it at all, only a few on this board which is only a fraction of the Irons support.

Will Hilton’s lawyers bring all this history up in court plus the gambling addiction 🤔

    That would work both ways…

Anyhow the purpose of the hearing will be to establish, in the absence of a valid lease issued by the freeholder, if Hilton and Scunthorpe United Football Club Ltd have any legal right to remain at GP.

Who knows what evidence may be submitted or accepted to show the reason for the validity of the seven day lease is due to the uncooperative nature of the land owner to not wanting the sale to proceed because he changes the goal posts when it suits.

Been downgraded to level 4 with the 9 to 16 year olds becoming a self sufficient junior set up like other non league teams with no funding. That’s Hilton’s version as a mate just posted me a section of his reply to a fan online. Daws quoted 70k to fund the academy where the reality when numbers got crunched was 220k, Hilton says we can’t afford that.

Jordan Zakarin has a good record in bringing Swann’s issue to light. Hilton says such, but he has skin in the game in a way Jordan doesn’t. Or whoever said that. It wasn’t Swann.

…but we don’t know which version is legally accurate 100% ?

Didn’t someone (maybe Jordan Zakarin) state that it’s the club’s responsibility to sort the ransom stip out now Hilton has bought the club?

Yet Hilton has stated it is the responsibility of the owner of the land and ground to register the ransom strip before a sale can proceed. Who do we believe?,well neither have a great track record so we need the courts to decide as no one on here ever comes up with a legally qualified answer, which is fully understandable as we aren’t lawyer’s.

I’m not doubting they’ve seen proof of funds I-A

Ok get that, so if people are saying Hilton hasn’t got the money to buy the ground and land despite showing proof of funds and the advisors for Swann being fine with that, then surely proof of funds is a flawed means of somebody having the ability to buy and run a football club as stated by the football authorities. If that’s the case then you are back to the old situation of any Tom, Dick or Harry just buying a club and it going bang very quickly which means the genuine football fan is in the same shitty boat?

Not sure about that Les. Who knows? Raises questions though.

They either saw proof of funds or they didn’t, can’t have it both ways. Swann states he was informed by his advisors that DH had shown proof of funds, the courts will decide.
