No more optimism, but the maths changes when we add three points.
Eh? You mean you raise the bar?
Is Alcy a Cod Head troll in disguise?
10 wins is another 30 points – would take us to nearly 50? I think that’s probably more than we’ll need. I wouldn’t be surprised if 40 points is enough this year.

There was definitely a two handed push on the back to move our defender under the ball.
Taft had already lost the header by that point, I don’t think it made a difference to the goal being scored.
I love the idea that Loft is good enough to simply turn it off & on again!

I know Hill used to love him but I think he’s expired now.
Expired? He was only on the radio yesterday!
Yes, twice in the last 6 seasons, 38 points would have been enough.

deffo should have had 1 pen but Howard would have probably saved, commands his box far more than Rory.
Good point, commanding your box is an important factor when it comes to saving penalties.
We’ll give them the £50k AND Loft!
As it’s known round here, doing a Sean McAuley!
I largely agree with you BRI, I think Hill has improved us but WG seems to think that I said something different whereas my point was really that as much as Hill has made a difference, I’m not sure we’d be much further up the league if he’d been here all season. After all, it’s now 1 win in 10, so we’re not exactly flying.
If Ferrite is still of the opinion that he’s not sure that if Hill was here much earlier we’d be better off, he needs help.
Bump!
Far be it for me to defend Swann but pretty much every manager in history has always said that sales are “up to the chairman”. Harry Redknapp made a career out of it. Managers always know they have to work to a budget, no matter its size.
Alternative opinion: we’re just finally finding out stride, working out our best team and getting more out of previously maligned players. Do we really want to throw all of that up in the air by signing a bunch of new players?
One 45 mins doesn’t make a season! But we all know that there is a very good player in there as we have seen occasionally especially at Rotherham and Oldham, I think he and his agent see’s him better then division 2 so it would really surprise me if he go’s to Colchester.
No, I agree 100% that 45 minutes doesn’t make a season but like you say there have been glimpses. So selling him for a measly £50k seems short-sighted at best, assuming the rumours are true. Especially as Colchester are only 3 points above us!
If you can’t see how far we’ve come “even though for the most part we’ve only had draws” you need to either get laser eye treatment or just give up watching us all together.
I’m not saying we haven’t made any progress but the fact remains we’ve won two games all season & are bottom of the league. Hill’s yet to win a game and whilst we’re a bit better, I’m not sure we’d be much better off overall if Hill had been in charge since August.

Look at the progress Hill’s made with the same players. A huge shame he wasn’t binned earlier. The squad has it’s limitations but I’d like to think with Hill here much earlier we’d have been a lot better off then we are now.
0 wins in 8? Aye, we’d never have managed that under Cox!

Or Hu*berside plod. They recently banned a Hull fan for ‘persistent gobbing off’, oddly enough I can’t find that anywhere on the statute book.
Got any more details about that TW? Seems dubious.
He can’t be that good if those are the four clubs after him!

It’s amazing you aren’t in charge of a Premier League team WG, the way you see everything in the game so clearly and so easily. Your ability to spot things that people who have worked in the game all their lives miss is incredible.

HAYESSORRY wrong season, no ambition now, nothing to to do with aging fanbase or COVID, the ambition went nearly 4 years ago when the club went to zero overnight after failure to get promoted and Karin probably stopped hubby’s pocket money.
That “ambition” is all very well but it’s spending on those players which created the debt & put us in a hole now.
Throw into the mix he brought 2 players on cold from the bench to take penalties, 1 hadn’t taken one before and Rashford wasn’t even in good form, both understandably missed.
Venables got battered for not making subs in extra time for penalties at Euro ’96. Everyone’s wise after the event.
England got to the final for the first time in 55 years, no mean achievement I reckon. And Italy only won 3-2 on penalties. Not a lot in it, really.
it wasn’t getting to the Final the issue Ferrite, it was the tactics when we got there trying to hang on to a one goal lead for most of the game with a negative lineup and making attacking substitutions too late to try to win it.
So you would be equally unhappy if England had lost in the group stage, following that logic?
but we didn’t win so it was all just a waste of time.
Quite right, what positives or enjoyment could anyone have taken from things like beating Germany & thrashing Ukraine in the quarter-final?
State of England fans, getting to the first final in 55 years and still not being happy about it.
as for my ” bloody dropout illegal boat invaders” if I had my way I would puncture them mid crossing,
People with views like you should be made to fish the bodies of drowning victims out of the water.

Jeez, this has really brought out the virologists & epidemiologists who walk among us.
There really are some heartless and thoughtless bastards on here.

Funny you should say that, just seen this tweet by a Daily Mail sports journalist:
“EFL has told its clubs latest figures (Nov) show double vaccinated players total 59% while 16% say they will get vaccinated and 25% of players ‘do not intend’ to get jabbed.”
Not exactly ideal!
The same Juryeff who was a shade under a goal every three games for us?
Did he? Funny how the memory plays tricks isn’t it?
My first match, in the mid-90s, featured a forward line of Ian Juryeff & Damien Henderson. I’m pretty sure they would give the current lot a decent run for their money.
